When products are brazed, the optimum brazing parameters are as follows: brazing temperature is 1215-1225 K; brazing time is 250-300 s. Four kinds of reaction products were observed during the brazing of Ti3Al alloys with the filler metal Cu-P, i.e., Ti3Al phase with a small quantity of Cu (Ti3Al(Cu)) formed close to the Ti3Al alloy; the TiCu intermetallic compounds layer and the Cu3P intermetallic compounds layer formed between Ti3Al(Cu) and the filler metal, and a Cu-base solid solution formed with the dispersed Cu3P in the middle of the joint. The interracial structure of brazed Ti3Al alloys joints with the filler metal Cu-P is Ti3Al/Ti3Al(Cu)/TiCu/Cu3P/Cu solid solution (Cu3P)/Cu3P/TiCu/Ti3Al(Cu)/Ti3Al, and this structure will not change with brazing time once it forms. The thickness of TiCu+Cu3P intermetallic compounds increases with brazing time according to a parabolic law. The activation energy Q and the growth velocity/to of reaction layer TiCu+Cu3P in the brazed joints of Ti3Al alloys with the filler metal Cu-P are 286 kJ/mol and 0.0821 m2/s, respectively, and growth formula was y2=O.O821exp(-34421.59/T)t.Careful control of the growth for the reaction layer TiCu+Cu3P can influence the final joint strength. The formation of the intermetallic compounds TiCu+Cu3P results in embrittlement of the joint and poor joint properties. The Cu-P filler metal is not fit for obtaining a high-quality joint of Ti3Al brazed.展开更多

Although several serving performances of brazed diamond wire have been reported, seldom do these studies refer to its process characteristics. Sawing performances of a brazed diamond wire are investigated and compared with those of a sintered diamond wire on a wire saw machine. The surface topographies of beads selected from the two wires are micro observed before sawing. The sawing tests are carried out in constant feed rate feeding(CFF) and constant normal force feeding(CNFF). In CFF test, sawing force, power, and the cut depths of positions on contact curve are measured. Then, coupled with the observations of beads topographies, sawing force and its ratio, relations of power against material removal rate, and contact curve linearity are compared and discussed. In CNFF test, the sawing rates of the two wires are investigated. The results indicate that the brazed wire performs with lower sawing force(less 16% of tangential force and 28% of normal force), more energy efficiency(nearly one-fifth of sawing power is saved), at a higher sawing rate (the rate is doubled) and with better contact curve linearity as compared with the sintered wire. This proposed research experimentally evaluates the sawing performances of brazed diamond wire from the aspect of process parameters, which can provide a basis for popularizing the brazed diamond wire.展开更多

The effects of technological parameters such as brazing temperature, holding time, and filler thickness on the shear strength of the joints were investigated. The microstructure of welded area and the reaction products of the filler metal were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), metallographic microscope (OM), energy-dispersive X-ray analysis (EDS), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The brazing temperature of 870℃, holding time of 15 min, and filler thickness of 0.4 mm are a set of optimum technological parameters, under which the maximum shear strength of the joints, 176.5 MPa, is achieved. The joint technology is the most critical issue for manufacturing plasma facing components. Consequently, the reliability of the joints should be verified by a great number of high-heat-flux (HHF) tests to simulate the real load conditions. W/Cu brazed joint technology with sliver free filler metal CuMnNi has been developed at Southwestern Institute of Physics (SWIP). Screening and thermal fatigue tests of one small-scale fiat tile W/CuCrZr mockup were performed on a 60 kW electron-beam Material testing scenario (EMS-60) constructed recently at SWIP. The module successfully survived screening test with the absorbed power density (Pabs) of 2 MW/m2 to 10 MW/m2 and the following 1000 cycles at Pabs of 7.2 MW/m2 without hot spots and overheating zones during the whole test campaign. Metallurgy and SEM observations did not find any cracks at both sides and the interface, indicating a good bonding of W and CuCrZr alloy. In addition, finite element simulations by ANSYS 12.0 under experimental load conditions were performed and compared with experimental results.展开更多

It lowers the brazing rate and affects the properties of joint. Experimental results show that the application of unequal-gap brazing seam effectively decreases the amount and volume of gas pores, and increases brazing rate. This paper establishes a force model of unequal-gap brazing seam, and proposes the constitutive relationship between expulsion force and curvature. The force condition of gas bubble in geometrically different brazing seams were calculated, and the results were verified with experiments. The results show that the expulsion force of gas bubble is positively correlated to the curvature of the seam geometry. The gas bubble tends to move towards the direction with large curvature and wider gap. The directional bubble movement is obtained through varying the configuration of gas-liquid interface to meet geometric conditions. Gas bubble accelerates to expulse with arc, hyperbola and cycloid brazing seams, in which the best drainage effects of gas bubble occur for cycloid seams.展开更多

文摘This paper introduces a brazing process between Al2O3 ceramic and Invar alloy.Al2O3 can be brazed with Invar effectively. The interfacial structure of Al2O3/Invar joint can be expressed as:Invar/Ag(s,s)+Cu(s,s)+Fe2Ti(zone Ⅰ)/Ag(s,s)+Cu(s,s)+Fe2Ti+NiTi+Cu3Ti(zone Ⅱ)/Ag(s,s)+Cu(s,s)+Cu2Ti+Al(s,s)+TiC+TiO(zone Ⅲ)/Al2O3.The maximum shear strength of 139 MPa was measured for as-brazed Al2O3/Invar joint brazed at 850℃ for 25 min or 900℃ for 15 min.

文摘In order to transfer the heat from the armor to the coolant, tungsten has to be connected with a copper heat sink. In addition, finite element simulations by ANSYS 12.0 under experimental load conditions were performed and compared with experimental results.

文摘Mo-Cu composite and Cr18-Ni8 stainless steel were brazed with Ni-Cr-P filler metal in a vacuum of 10-4 Pa and a Mo-Cu/Cr18-Ni8 joint was obtained. Microstructure in Mo-Cu/Cr18-Ni8 joint was investigated by field-emission scanning electron microscope( FE-SEM) with energy dispersive spectrometer( EDS). Shear strength of Mo-Cu/Cr18-Ni8 lap joint was measured by electromechanical universal testing machine. An excellent Mo-Cu/Cr18-Ni8 joint with a shear strength of 155 MPa was achieved at 980 ℃ for 20 min. Brazed joint was mainly comprised of eutectic structure in the center of brazing seam, matrix structure and lump structure. Ni-Cu( Mo) and Ni-Fe solid solution were at the interface beside Mo-Cu composite and Cr18-Ni8 stainless steel, respectively. Shear fracture exhibited mixed ductile-brittle fracture feature with trans-granular fracture, ductile dimples and tearing edges. Fracture originated from the interface between brazing seam and Mo-Cu composite.

文摘Microstructure and interracial reactions of Al2O3 joints brazed with Al2O3-particulate-contained composite Ag-Cu-Ti filler material were researched by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), electron probe microscopy analysis (EPMA), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The interracial reaction layer thickness of joints brazed with conventional active filler metal and active composite filler materials with different volume fraction of Al2O3 particulate was also studied. The experimental results indicated although there were Al2O3 particulates added into active filler metals, the time dependence of interracial layer growth of joints brazed with active composite filler material is t^1/2 as described by Fickian law as the joints brazed with conventional active filler metal.
文摘In this study, TiB 2 cermet and TiAl based alloy are vacuum brazed successfully by using Ag Cu Ti filler metal. The microstructural analyses indicate that two reaction products, Ti(Cu, Al) 2 and Ag based solid solution (Ag(s.s)), are present in the brazing seam, and the interface structure of the brazed joint is TiB 2/TiB 2+ Ag(s.s) /Ag(s.s)+Ti(Cu, Al) 2/Ti(Cu, Al) 2/TiAl. The experimental results show that the shear strength of the brazed TiB 2/TiAl joints decreases as the brazing time increases at a definite brazing temperature. When the joint is brazed at 1 223 K for 5 min , a joint strength up to 173 MPa is achieved.

文摘The nickel-based coating with different TiC addition was fabricated onto 45 steel substrate by using induction brazed technology in air.The effect of TiC addition on the microstructure and wear resistance of induction brazing coating was studied. The results show that the microstructure of brazing coating is strengthened and refined by adding TiC.With the increase of the amount of TiC added, the amount of TiC in the Ni-based matrix is increased, and the matrix structure is obviously refined. This is because the high melting point TiC particles can be used as heterogeneous nucleation cores, thus refining the Ni based matrix structure. Moreover, the wear resistance of brazing coating is improved due to the addition of TiC.

文摘The brazing of TiC cermet to iron was carried out at 1223K for 5-20min using Ag-Cu-Zn filler metal. The formation phase and interface structure of the joints were investigated by electron probe microanalysis (EPMA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD), and the joint strength was tested by shearing method. The results showed: there occurred three new formation phases, Cu(s.s), FeNi and Ag(s.s) in TiC cermet/iron joint. The interface structure was expressed as TiC cermet/Cu(s.s)+FeNi/Ag(s.s)+a little Cu(s.s)+a little FeNi/Cu(s.s)+FeNi/iron, With brazing time increasing, there appeared highest shear strength of the joints, the value of which was up to 252.2MPa when brazing time was 10min.

文摘Gas pore is a common defect in brazed joint. Gas bubble accelerates to expulse with arc, hyperbola and cycloid brazing seams, in which the best drainage effects of gas bubble occur for cycloid seams.

文摘In an attempt to develop low-silver brazing filler metals used for hermetic sealing materials in the vacuum interrupter industry, the ternary Ag-50Cu-5Ga low-silver vacuum brazing filler metal was investigated. The melting temperature was measured by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),and the brazability of Ag-50Cu-5Ga alloy on copper and metallized copper/kovar were ascertained at 850℃under 1×10-4 Pa in this article. The microstructures of the filler metal and the joints have been analyzed by using scanning electron microscopy(SEM),equipped with an energy dispersive spectroscopy. The results show that vacuum brazing was success to join with copper or metallized copper/kovar using Ag-50Cu-5Ga filler and reliable joints were obtained. There were Ag-rich phase,Cu-rich phase and a fine eutectic structure of Ag-based solid solution and Cu-based solid solution in the copper joints and the width of brazing seam is about 60μm.The joints of kovar alloy to copper after surface nickel plating was composed of AgCu eutectic phase,Ag,Cu,Cu2Ga and CuNi2 phase. The tensile strength was 167 MPa and 150 MPa,respectively. The tensile results of joints show that the joint strengths were equivalent to the traditional brazing filler metals.
