This study isolated and purified strain 431 from an animal probiotic product.Through staining and microscopic examination,colony morphology analysis,biochemical reaction tests,and 16S rDNA sequence alignment,the strai...This study isolated and purified strain 431 from an animal probiotic product.Through staining and microscopic examination,colony morphology analysis,biochemical reaction tests,and 16S rDNA sequence alignment,the strain was identified and named Brevibacterium aureus 431.The study focused on the production of biosurfactants by strain 431,and antibacterial activity tests were conducted on the strain and its secondary metabolites.The results showed that strain 431 exhibited no resistance to 10 commonly used drugs,and its concentrated secondary metabolites were highly sensitive to the indicator bacterium Escherichia coli.Oral administration of strain 431 to BALB/c mice resulted in normal mental state,diet,and bowel movements,with no signs of illness or death,indicating that strain 431 is highly safe and non-pathogenic to mice.The study suggests that Brevibacterium aureus 431 has significant research value as a new source of actinomycetes and that its secondary metabolites have potential application value in the development of antibacterial drugs.展开更多
Fifty bacterial strains isolated from dairy product, skin and blood from cancer and kidney failure dialysis patients were identified to 22 species and the following genera: Brevibacterium, Corynebacterium, Arthrobact...Fifty bacterial strains isolated from dairy product, skin and blood from cancer and kidney failure dialysis patients were identified to 22 species and the following genera: Brevibacterium, Corynebacterium, Arthrobacter, Actinomyces, Exiguobacterium, Kocuria, Micrococcus, Rothia, Rhodococcus and classified numerically using a set of 52 phenetic characteristics, using simple matching coefficient (Ssm) and clustering method of unweighted average linkage between groups by SPSS program. They were also grouped to 7 main clusters and 29 sub-clusters in the hierarchical tree. Twelve isolates of the different species from the genera Brevibacterium, Arthrobacter, Corynebacterium, Kocuria, Rhodococcus, Rothia were selected from the taxonomic clusters and probed for lin gene by peR. One species Kocuria rhizophila which inhibited most of the test organism did not have lin gene in the chromosome while the species Corynebacterium glucuronolyticum, Arthrobacter comminsii, Arthrobacter oxydans have the lin gene. Our results establish a wide distribution of the structural gene encoding this Iinocin M 18 within coryneform bacteria and also in the genus Kocuria.展开更多

The roots were heavily coloniz...The present study deals with colonization potential of plant growth promoting bacterial strains (Ochrobactrum intermedium, Bacillus cereus and Brevibacterium sp.) on Vigna radiata roots. The roots were heavily colonized with O. intermedium and B. cereus as compared to Brevibacterium sp. O. intermedium mainly colonized rhizoplane while B. cereus occurred both on the rhizoplane and near root zone. O. intermedium and B. cereus were found to be present both on the rhizoplane and near root zone, while Brevibacterium only in the rhizosphere in the form of groups. The cells of B. cereus were found more in the sites where root exudates were existed. From the above results it was observed that the number of O. intermedium cells were large at root exudate site.
