The nonlinear response of structures is usually evaluated by considering two accelerograms acting simultaneously along the orthogonal directions. In this study, the infl uence of the earthquake direction on the seismic response of building structures is examined. Three multi-story RC buildings, representing a very common structural typology in Italy, are used as case studies for the evaluation. They are, respectively, a rectangular plan shape, an L plan shape and a rectangular plan shape with courtyard buildings. Nonlinear static and dynamic analyses are performed by considering different seismic levels, characterized by peak ground acceleration on stiff soil equal to 0.35 g, 0.25 g and 0.15 g. Nonlinear dynamic analyses are carried out by considering twelve different earthquake directions, and rotating the direction of both the orthogonal components by 30° for each analysis(from 0° to 330°). The survey is carried out on the L plan shape structure. The results show that the angle of the seismic input motion signifi cantly infl uences the response of RC structures; the critical seismic angle, i.e., the incidence angle that produces the maximum demand, provides an increase of up to 37% in terms of both roof displacements and plastic hinge rotations. 展开更多

The integration of topology optimization(TO)and additive manufacturing(AM)technologies can create significant synergy benefits,while the lack of AM-friendly TO algorithms is a serious bottleneck for the application of TO in AM.In this paper,a TO method is proposed to design self-supporting structures with an explicit continuous self-supporting constraint,which can be adaptively activated and tightened during the optimization procedure.The TO procedure is suitable for various critical overhang angles(COA),which is integrated with build direction assignment to reduce performance loss.Besides,a triangular directional self-supporting constraint sensitivity filter is devised to promote the downward evolution of structures and maintain stability.Two numerical examples are presented;all the test cases have successfully converged and the optimized solutions demonstrate good manufacturability.In the meanwhile,a fully self-supporting design can be obtained with a slight cost in performance through combination with build direction assignment. 展开更多

To Promote Green Buildings in China: Lessons from the USA and EU

To promote green buildings is the way access to the sustainable development. Currently, China has issued some regulations and systems to boost the green building. However, problems lie in China and the systems are not effective. USA and EU have rich experiences and fairly sophisticated legislation and policies to develop green building. China may get some lessens from these countries. This paper will make an overview of legal framework and main system of green building in China, then, analyses some important legal systems and typical case related green building in the USA and EU. Further, problems were pointed out in the China based on the comparative analysis of these countries. Lastly, according to the condition in China and lessons from USA and EU, this paper will put some suggests to promote green building, such as, take some measures to enhance the awareness of the stakeholders, create multi- incentive tools and so on. 展开更多

为了降低基于台风过程的建筑围护结构设计风压估算方法——Storm passage方法的复杂性且不减弱其高精度,假定各次风暴引起的结构风荷载极值之间相互独立,得到了形式更加简洁更易于理解的用于Storm passage方法的结构风压年极值概率分布... 为了降低基于台风过程的建筑围护结构设计风压估算方法——Storm passage方法的复杂性且不减弱其高精度,假定各次风暴引起的结构风荷载极值之间相互独立,得到了形式更加简洁更易于理解的用于Storm passage方法的结构风压年极值概率分布表达式。并从理论上将改进前后的Storm passage方法进行了对比,以证明两者在高重现期下的精度基本相同。在此基础上,结合一工程实例,将改进方法、原Storm passage方法、未考虑台风过程的Monte Carlo模拟方法以及三种工程上常用的简算方法进行了对比。研究结果表明,对于50年重现期设计风压,改进方法与原Storm passage方法之间误差极小,可忽略不计;不考虑台风过程将导致结构设计风压估值偏小,大部分结果的偏小程度在10%以内;工程中常用的最不利法过分保守,有时甚至可偏大100%;风向折减因子法可给出经济性和安全性都适当的结果,但应谨慎使用,不合理的风向折减因子取值可能导致估计结果的安全性不足。 展开更多

轻质框架低矮房屋被广泛用于民宅、厂房以及其他基础设施建设。然而,多起风灾调查发现,低矮房屋在强风中破坏严重,其破坏形式主要表现为围护结构受损,因此有必要对低矮房屋围护结构风灾损失开展相关研究。基于简化的三阶段渐进破坏过程... 轻质框架低矮房屋被广泛用于民宅、厂房以及其他基础设施建设。然而,多起风灾调查发现,低矮房屋在强风中破坏严重,其破坏形式主要表现为围护结构受损,因此有必要对低矮房屋围护结构风灾损失开展相关研究。基于简化的三阶段渐进破坏过程,提出了低矮房屋围护结构风致易损性分析方法。在该方法中,同时考虑飞掷物冲击和强风压造成的门窗破坏,以确定开孔工况;通过伯努利方程模拟内压响应;利用Copula函数考虑屋面构件关联破坏;提出基于蒙特卡洛随机模拟的易损性分析流程,并结合木质框架房屋开展算例分析;进一步通过建立风速风向联合概率模型以考虑风向效应。研究表明,迎风墙构件在强风中往往面临着较高风险,且忽略风向效应可能会低估房屋的风致损失程度。 展开更多
