AIM To design a miniature magnetically anchored and controlled camera system to reduce the number of trocars which are required for laparoscopy.METHODS The system consists of a miniature magnetically anchored camera with a 30° downward angle, an external magnetically anchored unit, and a vision output device. The camera weighs 12 g, measures Φ10.5 mm × 55 mm and has two magnets, a vision model, a light source, and a metal hexagonal nut. To test the prototype, the camera was inserted through a 12-mm conventional trocar in an ex vivo real liver laparoscopic training system. A trocar-less laparoscopic cholecystectomy was performed 6 times using a 12-mm and a 5-mm conventional trocar. In addition, the same procedure was performed in four canine models.RESULTS Both procedures were successfully performed using only two conventional laparoscopic trocars. The cholecystectomy was completed without any major complication in 42 min(38-45 min) in vitro and in 50 min(45-53 min) using an animal model. This camera was anchored and controlled by an external unit magnetically anchored on the abdominal wall. The camera could generate excellent image. with no instrument collisions.CONCLUSION The camera system we designed provides excellent optics and can be easily maneuvered. The number of conventional trocars is reduced without adding technical difficulties. 展开更多

Quality control of Gamma Camera with SPECT System is highly valuable for assurance performance characteristic. We report the performance characteristic of gamma camera by intrinsic calibration and verification measurement. The study has been done using the data from Siemens Symbia S Series gamma camera by using a point source 99mTc at the Institute of Nuclear Medicine & Allied Sciences (INMAS), Khulna, Bangladesh. From intrinsic calibration and verification flood series, the integral uniformity for the central field of view (CFOV) has been found in between 4.01% and 2.88% and for the useful field of view (UFOV) has been in between 4.77% and 4.30%. The differential uniformity for the CFOV has been in between 1.53% and 2.04% and for the UFOV has been in between 2.32% and 2.77%. According to Operating Instruction Symbia System S Series manual, uniformity can compensate for values exceeding 10%, however while integral uniformity exceed 7%, have to contract Siemens customer service representative. In conclusion, these results show that the intrinsic uniformity of the gamma camera under this condition is within an acceptable range;thus the gamma camera working in INMAS is performed well. 展开更多

The streak camera is an ultra-fast diagnostic instrument with high sensitivity, and a high temporal and spatial resolution. It is primarily employed in various scientific research, such as inertial confinement fusion(ICF),synchrotron light sources, and electron–positron colliders.An automatic control system for an X-ray streak camera is presented in this paper. The output terminal of an analogto-digital converter was isolated from its input terminal, to reduce interference from high-voltage electrodes. Compared with traditional methods, this scheme also improved the internal electromagnetic interface immunity. Therefore,the system stability was enhanced. With this optimized control system, some characterizations of the streak camera were measured. Static and dynamic spatial resolutions of 25 and 20 lp/mm(CTF = 20%), respectively, were obtained. In addition, a dynamic range of 552:1 and a temporal resolution of 7.3 ps were achieved. The results confirmed that these characterizations are sufficient for the specifications derived from the diagnostic requirements of ICF. 展开更多

In the flotation process, bubble is a key factor in studying bubble-particle interaction and fine particle flo- tation. Knowledge on size distribution of bubbles in a flotation system is highly important. In this study, bubble distributions in different reagent concentrations, electrolyte concentrations, cathode apertures, and current densities in electroflotation are determined using a high-speed camera. Average bubble sizes under different conditions are calculated using Image-Pro@ Plus (Media Cybernetics@, MD, USA) and SigmaScan@ Pro (Systat Software, CA, USA) software. Results indicate that the average sizes of bubbles, which were generated through 38, 50, 74, 150, 250, 420, and 1000 μm cathode apertures, are 20.2, 29.5, 44.6, 59.2, 68.7, 78.5, and 88.8 μm, respectively. The optimal current density in electroflotation is 20 A/m2. Reagent and electrolyte concentrations, current density, and cathode aperture are important factors in controlling bubble size and nucleation. These factors also contribute to the control of fine- Particle flotation. 展开更多

Abstract: The aim of this study was to develop a cheap, locally made and friendly applicable phantom for gamma camera quality control and to test its validity relative to standard results (intrinsic and extrinsic spatial linearity and intrinsic and extrinsic uniformity) of gamma camera SPECT. And the significance of this experimental study was to introduce a multi-purpose phantom for gamma camera which could overcome the risk accompanied by quality control test procedure such as detector crystal damage and the appearance of moiré patterns. The results of the developed phantom showed an average count difference of 0.7% relative to the standard phantom and about 4% in X- to Y-axis directions relative to the standard phantom. Also, the measured absolute linearity was 0.63 mm in X direction and 0.64 mm in Y direction for the UFOV compare with 0.70 mm value of acceptance test. And the I.U. and D.U. of the developed phantom were 3.18% and 2.27% respectively for the UFOV relative to the standard phantom I.U. and D.U. (2.0% and 1.5%) for the UFOV respectively. 展开更多

Technological development over the last 20 years has enabled the d... There is considerable safety potential in ensuring that motorists respect the speed limits. High speeds increase the number and severity of accidents. Technological development over the last 20 years has enabled the development of systems that allow automatic speed control. The first generation of automatic speed control was point-based, but in recent years a potentially more effective alternative automatic speed control method has been introduced. This method is based upon records of drivers’ average travel speed over selected sections of the road and is normally called average speed control or section control. This article discusses the different methods for automatic speed control and presents an evaluation of the safety effects of average speed control, documented through changes in speed levels and accidents before and after the implementation of average speed control at selected sites in the UK. The study demonstrates that the introduction of average speed control results in statistically significant and substantial reductions both in speed and in number of accidents. The evaluation indicates that average speed control has a higher safety effect than point-based automatic speed control. 展开更多

A real-time arc welding robot visual control system based on a local network with a multi-level hierarchy is developed in this paper. It consists of an intelligence and human-machine interface level, a motion planning level, a motion control level and a servo control level. The last three levels form a local real-time open robot controller, which realizes motion planning and motion control of a robot. A camera calibration method based on the relative movement of the end-effector connected to a robot is proposed and a method for tracking weld seam based on the structured light stereovision is provided. Combining the parameters of the cameras and laser plane, three groups of position values in Cartesian space are obtained for each feature point in a stripe projected on the weld seam. The accurate three-dimensional position of the edge points in the weld seam can be calculated from the obtained parameters with an information fusion algorithm. By calculating the weld seam parameter from position and image data, the movement parameters of the robot used for tracking can be determined. A swing welding experiment of type V groove weld is successfully conducted, the results of which show that the system has high resolution seam tracking in real-time, and works stably and efficiently. 展开更多

A PI control strategy based on fuzzy set-point weighting following was proposed for the active damping control of a hydraulic crane boom system (HCBS). Two valve-controlled PI controllers, which include a proportional feedforward controller based on fuzzy set-point weighting following and a limited semi-integrator(LSI), are designed respectively. LSI is used to limit output signal and to prevent wind up at the low frequency of the spectrum. By using a range camera and an electronic feedback control, the tip damping on the HCBS can be adjusted artificially. A collaborative control simulation technique of HOPSAN and MATLAB/SIMULINK is applied to the controller design. Simulation results show that the proposed PI control system has less overshoot as well as faster response. The tip damping on the HCBS during operation is improved. 展开更多

受导航误差和机械磨损等因素影响,变电站巡检机器人在自主巡检时的停靠位姿偏离预置位姿,导致其云台相机在高倍变焦抓图时出现目标设备不在图像内以及聚焦失败等问题。因此,提出一种面向高变倍场景的变电站巡检机器人云台相机对准方法,... 受导航误差和机械磨损等因素影响,变电站巡检机器人在自主巡检时的停靠位姿偏离预置位姿,导致其云台相机在高倍变焦抓图时出现目标设备不在图像内以及聚焦失败等问题。因此,提出一种面向高变倍场景的变电站巡检机器人云台相机对准方法,使巡检机器人相机能够精确对准到预置位姿,以拍摄与模板图像一致的高质量巡检图像。首先,建立巡检机器人位姿与像素误差之间的关系模型;然后,基于构造的变电站空间布局假设条件,提出机器人相机位姿误差的近似解法;最后,对相机位姿误差进行正交解耦,使用提出的折半对准控制方法校正相机位姿误差。在巡检机器人真型平台上开展相机对准试验,结果表明,相较于仅调整云台姿态的传统相机对准方法,该方法在高变倍巡检场景中表现出更高的巡检覆盖率、准确率以及更低的巡检图像像素误差。 展开更多

制冷控制器是红外遥感相机的重要部组件,其温控精度直接影响着相机成像质量。随着控温性能指标要求越来越高,相机部组件的制冷需求也越来越多,多功能、高性能、低重量、少成本的新型制冷控制器的研制变得越来越迫切。针对这些问题,本文... 制冷控制器是红外遥感相机的重要部组件,其温控精度直接影响着相机成像质量。随着控温性能指标要求越来越高,相机部组件的制冷需求也越来越多,多功能、高性能、低重量、少成本的新型制冷控制器的研制变得越来越迫切。针对这些问题,本文设计集中型多负载红外遥感相机制冷控制器,采用电路模块复用与测控温分离的方法实现多负载控制。硬件上,在传统制冷控制器的基础上进行模块复用小型化设计,实现由“单电源、单主控、多驱动”组成的集中型硬件产品;提出“控制器+测温盒”的测控温分离方法,就近采集温度数据以保证测温精度,从而提高控温精度。软件上,配合硬件方案完成软件架构设计、测控温匹配设计、多负载驱动独立设计、温度数据可靠性设计。以此设计方案为基础,“一带三”制冷控制器的实验数据显示,该设计满足测控温匹配、驱动独立、精密控温的功能性能要求,同时±8mK的制冷控温精度完全满足了高质量成像要求,该方案可行。 展开更多

Automobile accidents cost over a trillion-do llar every year and this figure will continue increasing without employing new technological solutions.Among these solutions,the automated lane-keeping system is one of the promising ones and such a system consists of two essential technologies:road detection and steering control.In this paper,novel lane keeping algorithms are proposed and are implemented using only a single off-the-shelf wide-angle camera as input.The implemented system is verified,through both simulation and experiments,and is found providing satisfactory performance for an automated lane-keeping system.When compared to the state-of-the-art lane-keeping systems,the implemented system can perform consistently across various ambient light conditions including the most challenging ones. 展开更多

传统滤光轮多光谱相机难以适用于高速成像应用场景,为了实现高速红外成像,设计了一种长波红外多光谱同步成像系统,并研制了原理样机。对该系统所采用的电子学设计、同步控制方法、成像精度计算方法等进行研究。首先,根据系统总体工作原... 传统滤光轮多光谱相机难以适用于高速成像应用场景,为了实现高速红外成像,设计了一种长波红外多光谱同步成像系统,并研制了原理样机。对该系统所采用的电子学设计、同步控制方法、成像精度计算方法等进行研究。首先,根据系统总体工作原理介绍了同步控制的电子学设计。然后,针对多光谱相机波段切换与探测器成像的同步难点,提出了一种串级双闭环同步控制方法,将位置传感器的位置信号与探测器外触发信号进行联动,保证谱段切换与探测器成像的闭环同步。最后,提出了同步成像精度评价方法,进行了误差分析及精度计算。实验结果表明:系统实现了高速高精度红外同步成像,帧率为150 Hz,基于编码器的同步控制误差为0.107°,成像误差仅为一个像素,完全满足系统精度指标要求3.255°。设计方法适用于多种形式的滤光轮多光谱相机。 展开更多
