Research on Optimal Design of Campus Space Based on POE Concept: A Case Study of Anhui Xinhua College

Through the analysis of the overall landscape,revetments and roads and plant landscape,10 evaluation factors were determined.The comprehensive evaluation model for the campus space of Anhui Xinhua University was constructed by analytic hierarchy process(AHP).The results showed that revetment safety,road convenience,plant disease resistance and campus activity space were important factors affecting the spatial form planning of campus.Through the comparative analysis of the collected data,optimization suggestions were put forward to provide a basis for the establishment of“people-oriented”campus open space system.

Research on Campus Traffic Space Based on Space Syntax Theory:A Case Study of the Main Campus of North China University of Technology

As urban construction enters the era of stock development,the overall spatial environment of the main campus of North China University of Technology also needs to be updated.In this paper,the traffic network in the campus is extracted to draw the axis map,and the space syntax theory of Depth Map software is used to quantitatively analyze the integration and intelligence degree of the main campus of North China University of Technology.It is found that the overall spatial integration and intelligence degree of the campus are high,but the local space shows poor accessibility and insufficient space carrying capacity.Specific spatial optimization measures are proposed for the corresponding problems.The study compares and analyzes the experience information obtained from actual research with the quantitative index data,integrates the respective advantages of qualitative and quantitative analysis,and hopes to provide a certain theoretical basis for the construction of related campus space.

Restoration of Road Landscape Space on Campus:A Case Study of Tianjin University

In order to study the restoration of road landscape space,subjective evaluation method was adopted to visually evaluate different road spaces in Tianjin University with college students as the research objects.Using random block design,9 plots were quantitatively studied by Perceived Restorativeness Scale(PRS)from four dimensions:alienation,compatibility,richness and attractiveness.The results show that gray space has the worst restorative effect in the dimension of alienation,and can not bring people the feeling of being away from daily trivialities;in terms of compatibility dimension,green and blue spaces have better restorative effects;richness dimension has no obvious influence on the restoration of plots;in terms of attraction dimension,blue space has strong restorative ability and can easily attract people’s attention,while gray space has low attraction.There are differences in environmental restoration among different types of road space,and gray space,blue space and green space show weak,strong,and relatively stable restorative effects,respectively.

Optimization Analysis of Campus Topic Space in Colleges and Universities——A Case Study of the Colleges and Universities in Lishui, Zhejiang Province

University campus is the most important place for life, study, activity and experience of contemporary college students. It is helpful for students to survive and develop to create the topic space of campus. Taking the topic space of college campuses in Lishui City of Zhejiang Province as an example, the current situations are analyzed through questionnaire survey and field visit. The results show that uni- versity campus space needs a clear topic; the demands are generally large for the topics of exchange and communication, learning and thinking, sports and leisure in all kinds of space; the creation of these types of topic spaces should focus on the peaceful environment, beautiful scenery, privacy of the space and WlFI coverage.

存量时代下,高校教育空间随数字化教学模式的改变而逐步迭代升级,随之而来的校园教育空间智慧化建设也为教育设施的效能提升、情境预测提供了新的方法与工具。本文运用CiteSpace可视化工具,呈现近十年来国内外高校智慧教育空间的研究热点,总结其研究现状与发展趋势,归纳出高校智慧校园建设的四个阶段及智慧教育空间所呈现的低碳化、人本化、多元化、复合化的阶段特征,以期为后续校园教育空间的更新与建设提供参考。

Study on the Integration and Optimization of Campus Spaces: A Case Study of Yaohu Campus of Jiangxi Normal University

In view of the problems brought by blind expansion of campus, such as lack of public spaces, oversized spaces, and improper traffic designs, this paper took Yaohu Campus of Jiangxi Normal University for example, proposed the methods for integrating and optimizing campus spaces, such as establishing artistic conception of campus space, improving campus traffic organization, creating and improving the external communication spaces, on the basis of analyzing evolution history of campus spaces.

Analysis of Space Design of a Campus Square from the Perspective of Humanity:A Case Study of Sanjiacun Square in Xiamen University

The behavior styles of students which are the main service groups of Sanjiacun Square in Xiamen University were surveyed and analyzed firstly from the aspects of their perception,use and assessment of the square space,and then strategies to design the square space in the campus from the perspective of humanity were summarized to provide scientific references for the design of a square space in an university campus.

Research on Open Campus Space Evaluation System Based on CSOA Theory

As an important part of urban open space,campus space plays an important role in connecting urban traffic environment with the gradual improvement of urban space quality today.Based on CSOA(Campus Space Openness Assessment)theory,the paper calculates the current situation of walking space and vehicle crossing space in the campus,including entrance coupling degree(ξ),campus crossing degree(ε)and campus space opening degree(∑).The coupling relationship between campus entrance layout and campus road form for campus space openness is analyzed and the strategies are optimized respectively.The conclusions are as follows:①the location of campus entrances and exits can be reflected by the coupling degree of campus entrance,which is affected by the number and nodes,and the coupling degree is positively correlated with the number;②the closer the azimuth distance between the two entrances and exits on the campus to the linear distance,the higher the crossing rate;③the higher the product of campus entrance coupling degree and campus crossing degree,the higher the campus space opening degree.The results of this study provide quantitative guidance for modern campus design from the perspective of open campus space evaluation system.

The Evolving Roles of Landscaping in Campus Space Management: Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria in Focus

The aesthetic quality of most of the universities’ campus environment in Nigeria deserves attention considering the inadequate, misused and mismanagement of the campuses’ open spaces. This has exerted a major strain on the welfare and productivity of people (staff and students) in the universities. This study identifies the evolving positive roles of landscape in campus space management with a particular reference to the Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria. Random sampling method was adopted to collect data and information from the students, staff and heads of Planning and Horticulture Units of the institution. The results show that, challenges facing landscape planning in the university include inadequate finance, inadequate facilities, management problem and attitudinal problem of landscape users. The study recommends proper use and management of open space, landscape elements, outdoor rooms with various spatial qualities, and provision of enough funds to Planning and Horticulture units for landscape planning and environmental improvements.

Research on the Difference of Human Thermal Comfort Perception in Outdoor Space of Campus in North China

Outdoor space on campus is an important place for daily activities of teachers and students,and there is an important connection between thermal comfort and users’ feelings.It is of great significance to explore the difference of thermal comfort perceived by human body for the effective use and renovation of space.With the typical outdoor space in the campus of North China University of Technology as the monitoring object,the influencing factors of the difference of human thermal comfort perception were analyzed by measuring the microclimate data of outdoor space in winter and the data of thermal comfort questionnaire.The results showed that the subjective feeling of human body to environmental thermal comfort in winter in outdoor space of campus in north China was correlated with various factors,and had significant correlation with gender and height.The research results are helpful to further explore the difference of thermal comfort perception.

Updating Strategy of Campus Space Based on Multi-source Data:A Case Study of West Campus of Yangtze University

Under the macro background of rapid urbanization and social transformation in China,campus space renewal has become an important practice and carrier for the sustainable development of schools.The study on campus space by big data and quantitative reflection of spatial distribution of applicable people in different areas of the campus can provide a certain scientific basis for campus space updating.West campus of Yangtze University is taken as research object.Based on cognitive map method,questionnaire survey method,behavior trajectory and correlation analysis method,the types and characteristics of campus space composition,campus satisfaction,usage and its relevance are analyzed.Research results show that ①the overall imageability of campus space is higher,which has a significantly positive correlation with the satisfaction of campus environment,and has no correlation with users’ behavior activities.The use frequency of non teaching areas varies greatly in different periods of time.②The correlation between the surrounding green vegetation and the image degree of campus landmarks is the most significant,and the coefficient is 0.886.③The correlation between spatial size suitability and regional image degree is the most significant,and the coefficient is 0.937.④The correlation between public activity facilities in the region and node image degree is the most significant,and the coefficient is 0.995.According to the research results,the corresponding solutions are put forward to provide scientific and quantitative reference suggestions for the renewal and transformation of the campus.

Characteristics of Modern Campus Landscapes

It was highlighted that image,brand,honor and quality of a university was closely related to its landscape environment,therefore,high-quality campus landscapes are necessary for all universities,and characteristics of campus landscapes should be understood first to create a modern campus with favorable ecological conditions,beautiful scenery,vitality and cultural aura.On this basis,characteristics of campus landscapes were further studied,and it was pointed out that campus landscapes was actually an organic growth process;a material carrier of humanistic spirits of the university showing its spiritual horizons and features,creating a favorable environment for students,and also playing the role of moral education;and a kind of special green spaces with comprehensive social functions,which could integrate into the overall environment of the city with its multiple attributes,scales and functions,while its communication spaces were parts of the urban recreational and communication spaces,thus management of campus landscapes tended to the socialization.Through analyzing and elaborating natural features of campus landscapes,this study aimed at promoting and providing references for the construction of modern campus landscapes.

Spatial Planning and Designing for Campuses in the New Era

Current education system reform poses unprecedented opportunities for higher schools. The research proposed components and organization types for uni- versity/college spatial configuration based on campus spaces at home and abroad. In the background of sustainable design, the research took urban space design as references in order to explore effects of higher education theory on campus space design, analyze campus development trend and spatial configuration, as well as pro- vide references for massive urban university/college projects＂ construction and re-de- velopment.

Campus Design Strategies Based on Spatial Images： A Case Study of Four New Campuses in Chengdu

From 1999, with the rapid expansion of enrollment scale, colleges have experienced fast development and construction of new campuses. However, the urgency of the demand for campus space at that time led to the shortcomings of paying more attention to speed than connotation during the construction of the new campus. Even now the evaluation of new campuses which have been used for nearly twenty years and whether the space of new campuses has played its due role will affect the display of the heritage and temperament of colleges. This paper uses the typical spatial cognitive concept—spatial image to analyse the elements of spatial images on campuses, summarizes the perceptions of teachers and students towards the space of four new campuses in Chengdu through questionnaire survey and analysis, puts forward the principles of campus space design and the strategies of classification design, and intends to take spatial images as the research cut-in point to provide new ideas and suggestions for the design and improvement of campus space from the perspective of users.

河南理工大学(北校区)校园空间形态变迁及历史建筑解析

河南理工大学①创办于1909年,其前身焦作路矿学堂是英商福公司出资创办的一所私立大学。本文通过梳理学校各个时期的校报、校志以及河南理工大学史,结合实地调研、测绘,从空间形态变迁、历史建筑两个方面得出:中华人民共和国成立之前,校园规划形成教学行政区与学生住宿区分隔,且教学区为美国典型的“Mall”式三合院形态;中华人民共和国成立至改革开放期间,学校重在通过合并院校增加校园面积;改革开放后,校园建设速度加快,形成了新的以工程馆(今校史馆)为中心的东西轴线和以一号教学楼为中心的南北轴线,校园呈现出以教学行政区居中,学生宿舍区和教学区环绕行政区的规划布局形式。校园历史建筑工程馆、理化实验室和科学馆立面比例均衡,突出轴线对称,门窗采用半圆券洞,具有鲜明的西方古典主义建筑元素。

ENVIRONMENTAL PARAMETERS FOR CAMPUS OUTDOOR SPACE: A MICROCLIMATE ANALYSIS OF THE EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN UNIVERSITY (EMU) CAMPUS

Open spaces-whether public,urban,or part of a campus-offer a variety of activities and opportunities to people.Therefore,open spaces should be considered a vital component of any built-up area and designed to meet the needs and address the comfort of potential users.Because of their presence in daily life and their preponderance of characteristics,open spaces have drawn the attention of many researchers,designers,and planners with varying perspec-tives.The current study takes a scientific approach to analyzing the environmental parameters of the Campus Outdoor Space(COS)in the case of the Eastern Mediterranean University(EMU).An extensive literature review supported the identification of seven important envi-ronmental parameters effective in the microscale analysis of a COS:geographical location,meteorological situation,urban form,surface materials,amount of vegetation and watershed,and anthropogenic pollution.Analysis of the environmental parameters called for a hybrid method that included a detailed field survey and the following set of simulations:sun-path,radiation,sky view factor,and turbulence analysis.The accuracy of the field survey directly con-tributed to the effectiveness of the simulations.Grasshopper®3D software and Computational Fluid Dynamics were used to simulate the conditions of the EMU study area.The outcomes show that the spatial organization,building forms,and building orientation negatively affect the COS of EMU.In the Mediterranean climatic region of EMU,shade and flowing breezes greatly enhance comfort and usability of outdoor spaces from April to October.The massive form of buildings and minimal planning for effective building orientation to the sun increased heat storage capacity and neglected prevailing winds,resulting in flow separation and formation of eddies on the leeward side of buildings.These negatively influenced the microclimate,and thereby user comfort,at the core of the EMU’s main COS.
