E1 Tor Vibrio cholerae (EVC) strains may be classifled into two kinds-epidemigenic (EEVC) strains and non-epidemigenic (NEEVC) strains-based on a phage-biotyping system. A large number of EEVC strains have been screened for toxigenic and putative colonization attributes. One such naturally occurring strain (designated IEM 101) has been found which is devoid of genes encoding cholera toxin (CT), accessory cholera enterotoxin (ACE), zonula occludens toxin (ZOT), but possesses RS1 sequences and toxin-coregulated pilus A gene (tcpA) although tcpA is poorly expressed. It expresses type B pili but does not posses type C pili. It is an E1 Tor Ogawa strain and does not cause fluid accumulation in rabbit ileal loop tests. Active immunization of rabbits with strain IEM 101 elicited good protection against challenge with virulent strains of V cholerae O1. Oral administrationcaused no side effects in 15 human volunteers, colonized the gut for four to ten days and elicited good immune responses 展开更多

We investigate the effects of strain on the electronic and magnetic properties of ReS2 monolayer with sulfur vacancies using density functional theory.Unstrained ReS2 monolayer with monosulfur vacancy(Vs) and disulfur vacancy(V(2S))both are nonmagnetic.However,as strain increases to 8%,VS-doped ReS2 monolayer appears a magnetic half-metal behavior with zero total magnetic moment.In particular,for V(2S)-doped ReS2 monolayer,the system becomes a magnetic semiconductor under 6%strain,in which Re atoms at vicinity of vacancy couple anti-ferromagnetically with each other,and continues to show a ferromagnetic metal characteristic with total magnetic moment of 1.60μb under 7%strain.Our results imply that the strain-manipulated ReS2 monolayer with VS and V(2S) can be a possible candidate for new spintronic applications. 展开更多

A probiotic DQHY -7 s... A total of 25 strains were isolated from the intestinal tract of Mystus macropterus. The inhibitory effects of extracellular enzyme activity to common aquat- ic pathogenic bacteria were screened. A probiotic DQHY -7 strain was isolated, and its safety was detected. DQHY -7 strain was preliminarily identified by mor- phological observation, and physiological and biochemical test. Research results showed that DQHY -7 strain had relatively strong production capacities of amylase, cellulase and protease, and could restrict the growth of Escherichia coli, Aeromonas hydrophila and Pseudomonas fluorescens. Results of acute toxicity test showed that 1. 0 × 108 CFU/mL DQHY -7 bacterial suspension showed no pathogenicity to M. macropterus. According to the colony growth pattern and physiological-bio- chemical characteristics of DQHY -7, the strain was identified to be Bacillus subtilis. Research results showed that DQHY -7 strain could be used as a new candi- date strain for feeding microecologicalagent. 展开更多
