The results proved that both cinnamaldehyde and benzalacetone had an evident anticorrosion effect and could reduce the corrosion of steel effectively in acid medium, α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds with a benzene ring structure had good adsorption on steel surface. The experiments proved that polymerization of α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds on the steel surface at a high temperature and in concentrated acid medium resulted in a good corrosion inhibiting effect, which was attributed to the structures of α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds.展开更多

As the absorbent, 2, 4-dinitrophenylhydrazine (2, 4-DNPH) reacted with carbonyls specifically, which form the corresponding 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazones, then analyzed by HPLC. The chromatographic conditions, the recovery rate, stability of samples, reagent blank, sampling efficiency were all studied systematically. The results showed that this established method had high sensitivity and good selectivity compared with other analytical methods, and it can determine ten carbonyl compounds in air in 26 min simultaneously.展开更多

Emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and carbonyls from residential coal combustion of five coals with different maturities were studied in a simulated room.The coals were burned in form of honeycomb briqu...Emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and carbonyls from residential coal combustion of five coals with different maturities were studied in a simulated room.The coals were burned in form of honeycomb briquettes in a domestic coal stove,one of the most common fuel/stove combinations in China.Through a dilution system,VOCs and carbonyls samples were collected by canisters and silica-gel cartridges and analyzed by gas chromatography and mass spectrum (GC/MS) and high performance liquid chromatography/ultraviolet (HPLC/UV),respectively.The results show that the bituminous coals with medium volatile matter content produce the highest emissions while the anthracite yields the lowest.Among the identified carbonyls from the coal smoke,the aromatic compounds (benzaldehyde,2,5-dimethylbenzaldehyde and p-tolualdehyde,m/o-tolualdehyde,benzene,m,p-xylene and trimethyl-benzene) were relatively abundant,which might be due to the molecular structure of the coal.For formaldehyde,aromatic carbonyls and aliphatic alkanes,their concentrations increase up to the maximum values and then decrease with increasing coal maturity.The total carbonyls and VOCs have the same tendency,which was observed for the emission factors of organic carbon (OC),elemental carbon (EC),particulate matter (PM) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) detected in the series study.展开更多

Emissions of carbonyl compounds from agricultural machines cannot be ignored.Carbonyl compounds can cause the formation of ozone(O3)and secondary organic aerosols,which can cause photochemical smog to form.In this stu...Emissions of carbonyl compounds from agricultural machines cannot be ignored.Carbonyl compounds can cause the formation of ozone(O3)and secondary organic aerosols,which can cause photochemical smog to form.In this study,20 agricultural machines were tested using portable emission measurement system(PEMS)under real-world tillage processes.The exhaust gases were sampled using 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine cartridges,and 15 carbonyl compounds were analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography.Carbonyl compound emission factors for agricultural machines were 51.14–3315.62 mg/(kg-fuel),and were 2.58±2.05,0.86±1.07 and 0.29±0.20 g/(kg-fuel)for China 0,China II and China III emission standards,respectively.Carbonyl compound emission factor for sowing seeds of China 0 agricultural machines was 3.32±1.73 g/(kg-fuel).Formaldehyde,acetaldehyde and acrolein were the dominant carbonyl compounds emitted.Differences in emission standards and tillage processes impact ozone formation potential(OFP).The mean OFP was 20.15±16.15 g O3/(kg-fuel)for the China 0 emission standard.The OFP values decreased by 66.9% from China 0 to China II,and 67.4%from China II to China III.The mean OFP for sowing seeds of China 0 agricultural machines was 25.92±13.84 g O3/(kg-fuel).Between 1.75 and 24.22 times more ozone was found to be formed during sowing seeds than during other processes for China 0 and China II agricultural machines.Total carbonyl compound emissions from agricultural machines in China was 19.23 Gg in 2019.The results improve our understanding of carbonyl compound emissions from agricultural machines in China.展开更多

Carbonyl compounds in indoor air are of great concern for their adverse health effects. Between February and May, 2009, concentrations of 13 carbonyl compounds were measured in an academic building in Beijing, China. ...Carbonyl compounds in indoor air are of great concern for their adverse health effects. Between February and May, 2009, concentrations of 13 carbonyl compounds were measured in an academic building in Beijing, China. Total concentration of the detected carbonyls ranged from 20.7 to 189.1 I.tg.m3, and among them acetone and formaldehyde were the most abundant, with mean concentrations of 26.4 and 22.6gg.m-3, respectively. Average indoor concentrations of other carbonyls were below I 0 gg. m^3. Principal component analysis identified a combined effect of common indoor carbonyl sources and ventilation on indoor carbonyl levels. Diurnal variations of the carbonyl compounds were investigated in one office room, and carbonyl concentrations tended to be lower in the daytime than at night, due to enhanced ventilation. Average concentrations of carbonyl compounds in the office room were generally higher in early May than in late February, indicating the influence of temperature. Carbo- nyl source emission rates from both the room and human occupants were estimated during two lectures, based on one-compartment mass balance model. The influence of human occupants on indoor carbonyl concentrations varies with environmental conditions, and may become signifi- cant in the case of a large human occupancy.展开更多

Eighteen carbonyl species in C_1-C_(10) were measured in the dining areas,kitchens and exhaust streams of six different restaurant types in Kaohsiung,southern Taiwan.Measured results in the dining areas show that Ja...Eighteen carbonyl species in C_1-C_(10) were measured in the dining areas,kitchens and exhaust streams of six different restaurant types in Kaohsiung,southern Taiwan.Measured results in the dining areas show that Japanese barbecue(45.06 ppb) had the highest total carbonyl concentrations(sum of 18 compounds),followed by Chinese hotpot(38.21 ppb),Chinese stir-frying(8.99 ppb),Western fast-food(8.22 ppb),Chinese-Western mixed style(7.38 ppb),and Chinese buffet(3.08 ppb),due to their different arrangements for dining and cooking spaces and different cooking methods.On average,low carbon-containing species(C_1-C_4),e.g.,formaldehyde,acetaldehyde,acetone and butyraldehyde were dominant and contributed 55.01%-94.52%of total carbonyls in the dining areas of all restaurants.Meanwhile,Chinese-Western mixed restaurants(45.48 ppb) had high total carbonyl concentrations in kitchens mainly because of its small kitchen and poor ventilation.However,high carbon-containing species(C_5-C_(10)) such as hexaldehyde,heptaldehyde and nonanaldehyde(16.62%-77.00%of total carbonyls) contributed comparatively with low carbon-containing compounds(23.01%-83.39%of total carbonyls) in kitchens.Furthermore,Chinese stir-frying(132.10 ppb),Japanese barbecue(125.62 ppb),Western fast-food(122.67 ppb),and Chinese buffet(119.96 ppb) were the four restaurant types with the highest total carbonyl concentrations in exhaust streams,indicating that stir-frying and grilling are inclined to produce polluted gases.Health risk assessments indicate that Chinese hotpot and Japanese barbecue exceeded the limits of cancer risk(10^(-6)) and hazard index(=1),mainly due to high concentrations of formaldehyde.The other four restaurants were below both limits.展开更多

Principal component analysis identified a combined effect of common indoor carbonyl sources and ventilation on indoor carbonyl levels. Diurnal variations of the carbonyl compounds were investigated in one office room, and carbonyl concentrations tended to be lower in the daytime than at night, due to enhanced ventilation. Average concentrations of carbonyl compounds in the office room were generally higher in early May than in late February, indicating the influence of temperature. Carbo- nyl source emission rates from both the room and human occupants were estimated during two lectures, based on one-compartment mass balance model. The influence of human occupants on indoor carbonyl concentrations varies with environmental conditions, and may become signifi- cant in the case of a large human occupancy.

文摘Eighteen carbonyl species in C_1-C_(10) were measured in the dining areas,kitchens and exhaust streams of six different restaurant types in Kaohsiung,southern Taiwan.Measured results in the dining areas show that Japanese barbecue(45.06 ppb) had the highest total carbonyl concentrations(sum of 18 compounds),followed by Chinese hotpot(38.21 ppb),Chinese stir-frying(8.99 ppb),Western fast-food(8.22 ppb),Chinese-Western mixed style(7.38 ppb),and Chinese buffet(3.08 ppb),due to their different arrangements for dining and cooking spaces and different cooking methods.On average,low carbon-containing species(C_1-C_4),e.g.,formaldehyde,acetaldehyde,acetone and butyraldehyde were dominant and contributed 55.01%-94.52%of total carbonyls in the dining areas of all restaurants.Meanwhile,Chinese-Western mixed restaurants(45.48 ppb) had high total carbonyl concentrations in kitchens mainly because of its small kitchen and poor ventilation.However,high carbon-containing species(C_5-C_(10)) such as hexaldehyde,heptaldehyde and nonanaldehyde(16.62%-77.00%of total carbonyls) contributed comparatively with low carbon-containing compounds(23.01%-83.39%of total carbonyls) in kitchens.Furthermore,Chinese stir-frying(132.10 ppb),Japanese barbecue(125.62 ppb),Western fast-food(122.67 ppb),and Chinese buffet(119.96 ppb) were the four restaurant types with the highest total carbonyl concentrations in exhaust streams,indicating that stir-frying and grilling are inclined to produce polluted gases.Health risk assessments indicate that Chinese hotpot and Japanese barbecue exceeded the limits of cancer risk(10^(-6)) and hazard index(=1),mainly due to high concentrations of formaldehyde.The other four restaurants were below both limits.
