Objective:To investigate the efficacy and patient satisfaction of the EarWell Infant Ear Correction System combined with modular parents'nursing education's curative effect on deformed auricle.Methods:A total ...Objective:To investigate the efficacy and patient satisfaction of the EarWell Infant Ear Correction System combined with modular parents'nursing education's curative effect on deformed auricle.Methods:A total of 42 patients(29 boys and 13 girls;73 ears;age≤3 months)with auricle deformities who had received EarWell Infant Ear Correction System's treatment and modular parents'nursing education in Guangzhou Children and Women's Medical Center between April and October 2018.The modular parents'education program is standardized by EarWell system.Physician and patients'parents compared the severity of auricle deformity separately before and after the treatment by using the auricle deformities visual analogue scales(VAS)rating system.Patient satisfaction was evaluated by using global aesthetic improvement scale(GAIS).The data collected of auricle deformities VAS and GAIS satisfaction score were applied to measure the treatment's effectiveness.Results:All the 42 patients(73 external ears)completed the treatment with EarWell Infant Ear Correction System and modular parents'nursing education.The mean age at initiation of treatment was 37.87±19.44 days and the therapeutic time span was 47.21±17.36 days.At the end of treatment,the physician's and patients'guardians rating of the severity of auricle deformity were significantly improved separately compared to the initial rating(8.33±1.27 vs.6.51±0.84;P<0.005)(5.77±1.59 vs.8.19±2.38 P<0.05).During the treatment and parents'home nursing care period,the side effect and complications were minor like skin eczema and irrigation;there were no severe complications such as necrosis of the skin and cartilage.The patient tolerance for the treatment was acceptable with the adequate parents'nursing care.Most patients'guardians were satisfied with the treatment outcomes of EarWell Infant Ear Correction System with more engagement of nursing care,the GAIS's rating were increased from pretreatment stage's 26.19%to treatment completed stage's 90.48%,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:In this study,we proved that EarWell Infant Ear Correction System with its unique parents'modular nursing care education,as a noninvasive treatment,reasonably improved auricle morphological malformation,and patients'guardians satisfaction with few complications,which is worthy of a wildly clinical promotion.展开更多
In Taiwan,the low birth rate has become one of the most critical problems faced by the government and educational institutions at all levels.The enrolling student number of kindergartens perhaps is the most directly a...In Taiwan,the low birth rate has become one of the most critical problems faced by the government and educational institutions at all levels.The enrolling student number of kindergartens perhaps is the most directly affected by such trend.The purpose of this study aims at constructing a system dynamics model to depict the relationships between the preschool children and their stakeholders for deducing the evolutionary trends of,and the interactions of,governmental policies and the operations of the early childhood education institutions.Through the interpretation of policies and simulation analysis of the twenty-year growth trend related to the child population in Taiwan,this study found that governmental policies and the promotion of education and care services have a positive effect on the growth of all levels of kindergarten classes.Besides,the relationship between the education and care service staff and the kindergarten play a causal balancing role in our proposed model.We suggest that the system dynamics model proposed by this study can help to observe the dynamic relationships formed by the stakeholders in preschool education and care system based on the“joint responsibility”of Taiwan’s early childhood education.展开更多

Objective:To investigate the status quo of spiritual care competence and assocaited influencing factors among clinical nurses in China,and examine the relationships among spiritual care perceptions,spiritual health an...Objective:To investigate the status quo of spiritual care competence and assocaited influencing factors among clinical nurses in China,and examine the relationships among spiritual care perceptions,spiritual health and spiritual care competence,and the mediating role of spiritual health between spiritual care competence and spiritual care perceptions,in order to provide reference for the construction of spiritual care education intervention program to improve the spiritual care competence of clinical nurses in China.Methods:A total of 1454 clinical nurses from 17 hospitals in Tianjin were selected by convenience sampling method,and were investigated with sociodemographic characteristics questionnaire,the Chinese version of Spiritual Care Competence Scale(C-SCCS),the Chinese Version of the Spiritual Care-Giving Scale(C-SCGS)and the Spiritual Health Scale Short Form(SHS-SF).Results:The scores of spiritual care competence of nurses was(57.52±16.02).The results of multiple linear regression showed that nurses'spiritual care competence was influenced by 9 sociodemographic characteristics such as educational background and nursing age,as well as spiritual care perceptions and spiritual health factors,which accounted for 67.2%of the total variation.And spiritual care competence was positively correlated with spiritual care perceptions(r=0.639,P<0.01)and spiritual health(r=0.596,P<0.01).Besides,spiritual health played a mediating role between between other two variables,accounting for 27.5%of the indirect effect.Conclusions:The scores of spiritual care competence of clinical nurses was in the lower middle level,which needs to be further improved.It is recommended that nurse managers and educators should pay attention to the spiritual care education of nurses,and improve spiritual care perceptions and spiritual health level of nurses in multiple ways,at multiple levels,so as to improve their spiritual care competence and to maximize the satisfy spiritual care needs of patients.展开更多
Purpose:The new Finnish National Core Curriculum for Early Childhood Education and Care(2018)strongly highlights pedagogical knowledge and practice,demanding teachers to develop their pedagogical thinking,evaluation,j...Purpose:The new Finnish National Core Curriculum for Early Childhood Education and Care(2018)strongly highlights pedagogical knowledge and practice,demanding teachers to develop their pedagogical thinking,evaluation,judgment,and operating culture.Since ethics is viewed as vital characteristics of the teaching profession,our objective is to make these complex ethical issues more visible to be subject to democratic discussion and change.Design/Approach/Methods:The framework comprises a broad theory base of codes of ethics and professional codes of ethics of teaching.The research materials were national curricula of early childhood education and care(ECEC)-and pre-primary education.The eight-step qualitative analysis process was applied to identify and shed light on the codes of ethics laying the foundations forpurposeful and ethical earlychildhood education(ECE)teacher.Findings:The results indicate that through both theoretical lenses,the Finnish ECEC curricula comprise several ethical codes.For the future purposeful ECE teachers as ethical professionals,the results raise questions for further discussion.Particularly,issues related to the ethics of care,intellectual freedom,inquiry stance,and professional competence,and diversity may further enhance our ECEC curricula.展开更多
