For a multiplicity of 8*8*8, we studied a gap-free model using molecular dynamics. Physical quantities such as volume and pressure of the Na-O and Li-O systems exhibit similar behaviors around the thermodynamic ensembles NPT and NVE. However, for the Na2O system, at a minimum temperature value, we observe a range of total energy values;in contrast, for the Li2O system, a minimum energy corresponds to a range of temperatures. Finally, for physicochemical properties, we studied the diffusion coefficient and activation energy of lithium and potassium oxides around their melting temperatures. The order of magnitude of the diffusion coefficients is given by the relation Dli-O >DNa-O for the multiplicity 8*8*8, while for the activation energy, the order is well reversed EaNa-O > EaLi-O.展开更多

In this work, we propose the use of a dually functionalized surface modifier, calcium sulfate(CaSO_(4), CSO), in an efficient one step method to increase the cycling performance of Ni-rich NCM cathode materials. Thermal treatment of LiNi_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)O_(2)(NCM811) cathode materials with a CSO precursor allows the formation of an artificial Ca-and SO_(x)-functionalized cathode–electrolyte interphase(CEI) layer on the surface of Ni-rich NCM cathode materials. The CEI layer then inhibits electrolyte decomposition at the interface between the Ni-rich NCM cathode and the electrolyte. Successful formation of the CSO-modified CEI layer is confirmed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy analyses, and the process does not affect the bulk structure of the Ni-rich NCM cathode material. During cycling, the CSO-modified CEI layer remarkably decreases electrolyte decomposition upon cycling at both room temperature and 45 ℃, leading to a substantial increase in cycling retention of the cells. A cell cycled with a 0.1 CSO-modified(modified with 0.1% CSO)NCM811 cathode exhibits a specific capacity retention of90.0%, while the cell cycled with non-modified NCM811 cathode suffers from continuous fading of cycling retention(74.0%) after 100 cycles. SEM, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS), and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS) results of the recovered electrodes demonstrate that undesired surface reactions such as electrolyte decomposition and metal dissolution are well controlled in the cell because of the artificial CSO-modified CEI layer present on the surface of Ni-rich NCM811 cathodes.展开更多

文摘PEO-based all-solid-state electrolytes are extensively utilized and researched owing to their exceptional safety,low-mass-density,and cost-effectiveness.However,the low oxidation potential of PEO makes the interface problem with the high-voltage cathode extremely severe. In this work, the impedance of PEO-based all-solid-state batteries with high-voltage cathode(NCM811)was studied at different potentials. The Nyquist plots displayed a gyrate arc at low-frequencies for NCM811/PEO interface.Based on the kinetic modeling,it was deduced that there is a decomposition reaction of PEO-matrix in addition to de-embedded reaction of NCM811,and the PEO intermediate product(dehydra-PEO)adsorbed on the electrode surface leading to low-frequency inductive arcs.Furthermore, the distribution of relaxation time shows the dehydra-PEO results in the kinetic tardiness of the charge transfer process in the temporal dimension.Hence,an artificial interface layer(CEI_(x))was modified on the surface of NCM811 to regulate the potential of cathode/electrolyte interface to prevent the high-voltage deterioration of PEO.NCM/CEI_(x)/PEO batteries exhibit capacity retentions of 96.0%,84.6%,and 76.8%after undergoing 100 cycles at cut-off voltages of 4.1,4.2,and 4.3 V,respectively. Therefore, here the failure mechanism of high-voltage PEO electrolyte is investigated by EIS and a proposed solving strategy is presented.

文摘Solid-state polymer electrolytes(SPEs) capable of withstanding high voltage are considered to be key for next-generation energy storage devices with inherent safety as well as high energy density. This study involves the rational design of solid-state-C≡N functionalized P(VEC_1-CEA_(0.3))/LiTFSI@CE SPEs and its synthesis by in-situ free radical polymerization of vinyl ethylene carbonate(VEC) and 2-cyanoethyl acrylate(CEA).In situ polymerization yields electrode/electrolyte interfaces with low interfacial resistance, forming a stable SEI layer enriched with LiF,Li_(3)N,and RCOOLi,ensuring stable Li plating/stripping for over 1400 h.The-C≡N moiety renders the αH on the adjacent αC positively charged, thereby endowing it with the capability to anchor TFSI^(-).Simultaneously,the incorporation of-C≡N moiety diminishes the electron-donating ability of the C=O,C-O-C,and-C≡N functional groups, facilitating not only the ion conductivity enhancement but also a more rapid Li^(+)migration proved by DFT theoretical calculations and Raman spectroscopy. At room temperature,t_(Li+) of 0.60 for P(VEC_1-CEA_(0.3))/LiTFSI@CE SPEs is achieved when the ionic conductivity σ_(Li+)is 2.63×10^(-4) S cm^(-1) and the electrochemical window is expanded to5.0 V.Both coin cells with high-areal-loading cathodes and the 6.5-mAh pouch cell, exhibit stable charge/discharge cycling. At 25℃,the 4.45-V Li|P(VEC_1-CEA_(0.3))/LiTFSI@CE|LiCoO_(2) battery performs stable cycling over 200 cycles at 0.2 C,with a capacity retention of 82.1%.
文摘This work is a simulation model with the LAMMPS calculation code of an electrode based on alkali metal oxides (lithium, sodium and potassium) using the Lennard Jones potential. The order of magnitude of the diffusion coefficients is given by the relation Dli-O >DNa-O for the multiplicity 8*8*8, while for the activation energy, the order is well reversed EaNa-O > EaLi-O.

文摘Owing to the utilization of lithium metal as anode with the ultrahigh theoretical capacity density of 3860 mA h g^(-1)and oxide-based ceramic solid-state electrolytes(SE),e.g.,garnet-type Li7La_(3)Zr_(2)O_(12)(LLZO),all-state-state lithium metal batteries(ASLMBs)have been widely accepted as the promising alternatives for providing the satisfactory energy density and safety. However, its applications are still challenged by plenty of technical and scientific issues. In this contribution, the co-sintering temperature at 500℃is proved as a compromise method to fabricate the composite cathode with structural integrity and declined capacity fading of LiNi_(0.5)Co_(0.2)Mn_(0.3)O_(2)(NCM).On the other hand,it tends to form weaker grain boundary(GB)inside polycrystalline LLZO at inadequate sintering temperature for LLZO,which can induce the intergranular failure of SE during the growth of Li filament inside the unavoidable defect on the interface of SE.Therefore, increasing the strength of GB,refining the grain to 0.4μm,and precluding the interfacial defect are suggested to postpone the electro-chemo-mechanical failure of SE with weak GB.Moreover, the advanced sintering techniques to lower the co-sintering temperature for both NCM-LLZO composite cathode and LLZO SE can be posted out to realize the viability of state-of-the-art ASLMBs with higher energy density as well as the guaranteed safety.

文摘With the increasing scale of energy storage,it is urgently demanding for further advancements on battery technologies in terms of energy density, cost, cycle life and safety. The development of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)not only relies on electrodes, but also the functional electrolyte systems to achieve controllable formation of solid electrolyte interphase and high ionic conductivity. In order to satisfy the needs of higher energy density,high-voltage(>4.3 V)cathodes such as Li-rich layered compounds, olivine LiNiPO_(4),spinel LiNi_(0.5)Mn_(1.5)O_(4) have been extensively studied.However,high-voltage cathodebased LIBs fade rapidly mainly owing to the anodic decomposition of electrolytes, gradually thickening of interfacial passivation layer and vast irreversible capacity loss, hence encountering huge obstacle toward practical applications. To tackle this roadblock, substantial progress has been made toward oxidation-resistant electrolytes to block its side reaction with high-voltage cathodes. In this review,we discuss degradation mechanisms of electrolytes at electrolyte/cathode interface and ideal requirements of electrolytes for high-voltage cathode,as well as summarize recent advances of oxidation-resistant electrolyte optimization mainly from solvents and additives. With these insights,it is anticipated that development of liquid electrolyte tolerable to high-voltage cathode will boost the large-scale practical applications of high-voltage cathode-based LIBs.

文摘The Co-free Li Ni_(0.5)Mn_(1.5)O_(4)(LNMO)is a promising cathode for lithium-ion batteries owing to its high operating voltage and low costs. However, the synthesis of LNMO is generally time and energy consuming, and its practical application is hindered by the lack of a compatible electrolyte.Herein,a spray pyrolysis-based energy-saving synthesis method as well as a diluted low concentration electrolyte(0.5 M LiPF_(6) in a mixture of fluoroethylene carbonate/dimethyl carbonate/1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethyl-2,2,3,3-tetrafluoropropyl ether(FEC:DMC:TTE,1:4:5 by volume))are proposed to address these challenges.Owing to the unique features of the precursor prepared by spray pyrolysis,well-crystallized LNMO single-crystal can be obtained within 1 h calcination at 900℃.Besides,the fluorinated interphases derived from the diluted low concentration electrolyte not only mitigate the Mn dissolution and Al corrosion at the cathode side, but also suppresses dendritic Li deposition at the anode side, thus enabling stable cycling of both LNMO and Li metal anode.Thus,30μm Li|LNMO(1.75 m A h cm^(-2))cells achieve a high capacity retention(90.9%)after 168 cycles in the diluted low concentration electrolyte.

文摘B-containing electrolyte additives are widely used to enhance the cycle performance at low temperature and the rate capability of lithium-ion batteries by constructing an efficient cathode electrolyte interphase(CEI)to facilitate the rapid Li+migration.Nevertheless, its wide-temperature application has been limited by the instability of B-derived CEI layer at high temperature.Herein, dual electrolyte additives, consisting of lithium tetraborate(Li_(2)TB)and 2,4-difluorobiphenyl(FBP),are proposed to boost the widetemperature performances of LiNi_(0.6)Co_(0.2)Mn_(0.2)O_(2)(NCM)cathode.Theoretical calculation and electrochemical performances analyses indicate that Li_(2)TB and FBP undergo successive decomposition to form a unique dual-layer CEI.FBP acts as a synergistic filming additive to Li_(2)TB,enhancing the hightemperature performance of NCM cathode while preserving the excellent low-temperature cycle stability and the superior rate capability conferred by Li_(2)TB additive. Therefore, the capacity retention of NCM‖Li cells using optimal FBP-Li_(2)TB dual electrolyte additives increases to 100%after 200 cycles at-10℃,99%after 200 cycles at 25℃,and 83%after 100 cycles at 55℃,respectively,much superior to that of base electrolyte(63%/69%/45%).More surprisingly, galvanostatic c ha rge/discharge experiments at different temperatures reveal that NCM‖Li cells using FBP-Li_(2)TB additives can operate at temperatures ranging from-40℃to 60℃.This synergistic interphase modification utilizing dual electrolyte additives to construct a unique dual-layer CEI adaptive to a wide temperature range, provides valuable insights to the practical applications of NCM cathodes for all-climate batteries.

文摘As the energy density of battery increases rapidly,lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)are facing serious safety issue with thermal runaway, which largely limits the large-scale applications of high-energy-density LIBs.It is generally agreed that the chemical crosstalk between the cathode and anode leads to thermal runaway of LIBs.Herein,a multifunctional high safety electrolyte is designed with synergistic construction of cathode electrolyte interphase and capture of reactive free radicals to limit the intrinsic pathway of thermal runaway. The cathode electrolyte interphase not only resists the gas attack from the anode but suppresses the parasitic side reactions induced by electrolyte. And the function of free radical capture has the ability of reducing heat release from thermal runaway of battery. The dual strategy improves the intrinsic safety of battery prominently that the triggering temperature of thermal runaway is increased by 24.4℃and the maximum temperature is reduced by 177.7℃.Simultaneously,the thermal runaway propagation in module can be self-quenched.Moreover,the electrolyte design balances the trade-off of electrochemical and safety performance of high-energy batteries. The capacity retention of LiNi_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)O_(2)|graphite pouch cell has been significantly increased from 53.85%to 97.05%with higher coulombic efficiency of 99.94%at operating voltage extended up to 4.5 V for 200 cycles. Therefore, this work suggests a feasible strategy to mitigate the safety risk of high-energy-density LIBs without sacrificing electrochemical performances.

文摘Ethers are promising electrolyte solvents for secondary Li metal batteries because of their excellent reduction stability. However, their oxidation stability has been mostly relying on the high concentration approach, and limited progress has been made on building effective interphase to protect the cathode from the corrosion of the electrolyte. In this work,we construct a semi-crystalline interfacial layer on the surface of Li(Ni_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Mn_(0.1))O_(2)cathode that can achieve improved electrochemical stability in the highly corrosive chemical environment formed by the decomposition of ether molecules.Different from traditional brittle crystalline interphases, the optimized semi-crystalline layer with low modulus and high ionic conductivity can effectively relieve electrode strain and maintain the integrity of the interface layer.Due to this design, the continuous oxidation decomposition of ether-based electrolytes could be significantly suppressed and the battery shows outstanding cycling stability(84%capacity retention after 300 cycles). This article provides a solution to address the oxidation instability issue of ether-based electrolytes.

文摘Rechargeable sodium metal batteries constitute a cost-effective option for energy storage although sodium shows some drawbacks in terms of reactivity with organic solvents and dendritic growth. Here we demonstrate that an organic dye, indanthrone blue, behaves as an efficient cathode material for the development of secondary sodium metal batteries when combined with novel inorganic electrolytes. These electrolytes are ammonia solvates, known as liquid ammoniates, which can be formulated as NaI·3.3NH_(3) and NaBF_(4)·2.5NH_(3).They impart excellent stability to sodium metal, and they favor sodium non-dendritic growth linked to their exceedingly high sodium ion concentration. This advantage is complemented by a high specific conductivity. The battery described here can last hundreds of cycles at 10 C while keeping a Coulombic efficiency of 99%from the first cycle.Because of the high capacity of the cathode and the superior physicochemical properties of the electrolytes, the battery can reach a specific energy value as high as 210 W h kgIB^(-1),and a high specific power of 2.2 kW kgIB^(-1),even at below room temperature(4℃).Importantly,the battery is based on abundant and cost-effective materials, bearing promise for its application in large-scale energy storage.

文摘Garnet-type Li_7La_(3)Zr_(2)O_(12)(LLZO) has high ionic conductivity and good compatibility with lithium metal.High-temperature processing has been proven an effective method to decrease the interface resistance of cathodeILLZO.However, its application is still hindered by the interlayer co-diffusion with the cathode and high sintering temperature(>1200℃).In this work,a new garnet-type composite solid-state electrolyte(SSE) Li_(6.54)La_(2.96)Ba_(0.04)Zr_(1.5)Nb_(0.5)O_(12)-LiCoO_(2)(LLBZNO-LCO) is firstly proposed to improve the chemical stability and electrochemical properties of garnet with high-temperature processing.Small doses of LCO(3%) can significantly decrease the LCOISSE interface resistance from 121.2 to 10.1 Ω cm~2,while the sintering temperature of garnet-type LLBZNO decreases from 1230 to 1000℃.The all-solid-state battery based on the sintered LLBZNO-LCO SSE exhibits excellent cycling stability. Our approach achieves an enhanced LCOISSE interface and an improved sintering activity of garnet SSE,which provides a new strategy for optimizing the comprehensive performance of garnet SSE.

文摘Polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells(PEMFCs)are considered a promising alternative to internal combustion engines in the automotive sector.Their commercialization is mainly hindered due to the cost and effectiveness of using platinum(Pt)in them. The cathode catalyst layer(CL)is considered a core component in PEMFCs,and its composition often considerably affects the cell performance(V_(cell))also PEMFC fabrication and production(C_(stack))costs.In this study,a data-driven multi-objective optimization analysis is conducted to effectively evaluate the effects of various cathode CL compositions on Vcelland Cstack.Four essential cathode CL parameters,i.e.,platinum loading(L_(Pt)),weight ratio of ionomer to carbon(wt_(I/C)),weight ratio of Pt to carbon(wt_(Pt/c)),and porosity of cathode CL(ε_(cCL)),are considered as the design variables. The simulation results of a three-dimensional,multi-scale,two-phase comprehensive PEMFC model are used to train and test two famous surrogates:multi-layer perceptron(MLP)and response surface analysis(RSA).Their accuracies are verified using root mean square error and adjusted R^(2).MLP which outperforms RSA in terms of prediction capability is then linked to a multi-objective non-dominated sorting genetic algorithmⅡ.Compared to a typical PEMFC stack, the results of the optimal study show that the single-cell voltage,Vcellis improved by 28 m V for the same stack price and the stack cost evaluated through the U.S department of energy cost model is reduced by$5.86/k W for the same stack performance.

文摘Li metal batteries using high-voltage layered oxides cathodes are of particular interest due to their high energy density. However, they suffer from short lifespan and extreme safety concerns, which are attributed to the degradation of layered oxides and the decomposition of electrolyte at high voltage,as well as the high reactivity of metallic Li.The key is the development of stable electrolytes against both highvoltage cathodes and Li with the formation of robust interphase films on the surfaces.Herein,we report a highly fluorinated ether,1,1,1-trifluoro-2-[(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)methoxy]ethane(TTME),as a cosolvent, which not only functions as a diluent forming a localized high concentration electrolyte(LHCE),but also participates in the construction of the inner solvation structure. The TTME-based electrolyte is stable itself at high voltage and induces the formation of a unique double-layer solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)film, which is embodied as one layer rich in crystalline structural components for enhanced mechanical strength and another amorphous layer with a higher concentration of organic components for enhanced flexibility. The Li||Cu cells display a noticeably high Coulombic efficiency of 99.28%after 300 cycles and Li symmetric cells maintain stable cycling more than 3200 h at 0.5 mA/cm^(2) and 1.0m Ah/cm^(2).In addition, lithium metal cells using LiNi_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)O_(2) and Li CoO_(2) cathodes(both loadings~3.0 m Ah/cm^(2))realize capacity retentions of>85%over 240 cycles with a charge cut-off voltage of 4.4 V and 90%for 170 cycles with a charge cut-off voltage of 4.5 V,respectively. This study offers a bifunctional ether-based electrolyte solvent beneficial for high-voltage Li metal batteries.

文摘Ni-rich lithium nickel–cobalt-manganese oxides(NCM) are considered the most promising cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs);however, relatively poor cycling performance is a bottleneck preventing their widespread use in energy systems. SEM, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS), and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS) results of the recovered electrodes demonstrate that undesired surface reactions such as electrolyte decomposition and metal dissolution are well controlled in the cell because of the artificial CSO-modified CEI layer present on the surface of Ni-rich NCM811 cathodes.

文摘P2-Na_(0.67)Ni_(0.33)Mn_(0.67)O_(2)(NNMO)is promising cathode material for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)due to its high specific capacity and fast Na+diffusion rate.Nonetheless, the irreversible P2-O_(2)phase transformation,Na+/vacancy ordering, and transition metal(TM)dissolution seriously damage its cycling stability and restrict its commercialization process.Herein,Na occupation manipulation and interface stabilization are proposed to strengthen the phase structure of NNMO by synergistic Zn/Ti co-doping and introducing lithium difluorophosp(LiPO_(2)F_(2))film-forming electrolyte additive. The Zn/Ti co-doping regulates the occupancy ratio of Nae/Nafat Na sites and disorganizes the Na+/vacancy ordering, resulting in a faster Na+diffusion kinetics and reversible P2-Z phase transition for P2-Na_(0.67)Ni_(0.28)Zn_(0.05)Mn_(0.62)Ti_(0.05)O_(2)(NNZMTO).Meanwhile,the LiPO_(2)F_(2)additive can form homogeneous and ultrathin cathode-electrolyte interphase(CEI)on NNZMTO surface, which can stabilize the NNZMTO-electrolyte interface to prevent TM dissolution, surface structure transformation, and micro-crack generation.Combination studies of in situ and ex situ characterizations and theoretical calculations were used to elucidate the storage mechanism of NNZMTO with Li PO_(2)F_(2)additive.As a result, the NNZMTO displays outstanding capacity retention of 94.44%after 500 cycles at 1C with 0.3 wt%Li PO_(2)F_(2),excellent rate performance of 92.5 mA h g^(-1)at 8C with 0.1 wt%Li PO_(2)F_(2),and remarkable full cell capability. This work highlights the important role of manipulating Na occupation and constructing protective film in the design of layered materials, which provides a promising direction for developing high-performance cathodes for SIBs.

文摘High voltage is necessary for high energy lithium-ion batteries but difficult to achieve because of the highly deteriorated cyclability of the batteries.A novel strategy is developed to extend cyclability of a high voltage lithium-ion battery,LiNi_(0.5)Mn_(1.5)O_(4)/Graphite(LNMO/Graphite)cell,which emphasizes a rational design of an electrolyte additive that can effectively construct protective interphases on anode and cathode and highly eliminate the effect of hydrogen fluoride(HF).5-Trifluoromethylpyridine-trime thyl lithium borate(LTFMP-TMB),is synthesized, featuring with multi-functionalities.Its anion TFMPTMB-tends to be enriched on cathode and can be preferentially oxidized yielding TMB and radical TFMP-.Both TMB and radical TFMP can combine HF and thus eliminate the detrimental effect of HF on cathode, while the TMB dragged on cathode thus takes a preferential oxidation and constructs a protective cathode interphase. On the other hand,LTFMP-TMB is preferentially reduced on anode and constructs a protective anode interphase.Consequently,a small amount of LTFMP-TMB(0.2%)in 1.0 M LiPF6in EC/DEC/EMC(3/2/5,wt%)results in a highly improved cyclability of LNMO/Graphite cell, with the capacity retention enhanced from 52%to 80%after 150 cycles at 0.5 C between 3.5 and 4.8 V.The as-developed strategy provides a model of designing electrolyte additives for improving cyclability of high voltage batteries.

文摘Current lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)rely on organic liquid electrolytes that pose significant risks due to their flammability and toxicity. The potential for environmental pollution and explosions resulting from battery damage or fracture is a critical concern.Water-based(aqueous)electrolytes have been receiving attention as an alternative to organic electrolytes. However,a narrow electrochemicalstability window, water decomposition, and the consequent low battery operating voltage and energy density hinder the practical use of aqueous electrolytes. Therefore, developing novel aqueous electrolytes for sustainable,safe,high-performance LIBs remains challenging. This Review first commences by summarizing the roles and requirements of electrolytes–separators and then delineates the progression of aqueous electrolytes for LIBs,encompassing aqueous liquid and gel electrolyte development trends along with detailed principles of the electrolytes. These aqueous electrolytes are progressed based on strategies using superconcentrated salts, concentrated diluents, polymer additives, polymer networks, and artificial passivation layers, which are used for suppressing water decomposition and widening the electrochemical stability window of water of the electrolytes. In addition, this Review discusses potential strategies for the implementation of aqueous Li-metal batteries with improved electrolyte–electrode interfaces.A comprehensive understanding of each strategy in the aqueous system will assist in the design of an aqueous electrolyte and the development of sustainable and safe high-performance batteries.

文摘The electrolyte directly contacts the essential parts of a lithium-ion battery, and as a result, the electrochemical properties of the electrolyte have a significant impact on the voltage platform, charge discharge capacity, energy density, service life, and rate discharge performance.By raising the voltage at the charge/discharge plateau, the energy density of the battery is increased. However, this causes transition metal dissolution, irreversible phase changes of the cathode active material, and parasitic electrolyte oxidation reactions. This article presents an overview of these concerns to provide a clear explanation of the issues involved in the development of electrolytes for high-voltage lithium-ion batteries.Additionally, solidstate electrolytes enable various applications and will likely have an impact on the development of batteries with high energy densities. It is necessary to improve the high-voltage performance of electrolytes by creating solvents with high thermal stabilities and high voltage resistance and additives with superior film forming performance, multifunctional capabilities, and stable lithium salts. To offer suggestions for the future development of high-energy lithium-ion batteries,we conclude by offering our own opinions and insights on the current development of lithium-ion batteries.

文摘Na-ion O3-type layered oxides are prospective cathodes for Na-ion batteries due to high energy density and low-cost.Nevertheless,such cathodes usually suffer from phase transitions, sluggish kinetics and air instability, making it difficult to achieve high performance solid-state sodium-ion batteries.Herein, the high-entropy design and Li doping strategy alleviate lattice stress and enhance ionic conductivity, achieving high-rate performance, air stability and electrochemically thermal stability for Na_(0.95)Li_(0.06)Ni_(0.25)Cu_(0.05)Fe_(0.15)Mn_(0.49)O_(2).This cathode delivers a high reversible capacity(141 mAh g^(−1)at 0.2C),excellent rate capability(111 mAh g^(−1)at 8C,85 mAh g^(−1)even at 20C),and long-term stability(over 85%capacity retention after 1000 cycles),which is attributed to a rapid and reversible O3–P3 phase transition in regions of low voltage and suppresses phase transition. Moreover, the compound remains unchanged over seven days and keeps thermal stability until 279℃.Remarkably,the polymer solid-state sodium battery assembled by this cathode provides a capacity of 92 mAh g^(−1)at 5C and keeps retention of 96%after 400 cycles. This strategy inspires more rational designs and could be applied to a series of O3 cathodes to improve the performance of solid-state Na-ion batteries.
