This constant inter facial cell with a laminar flow was made into a cubic structure. The two fluids were continuously recycled and mixed. The concentration of each liquid could be monitored by two different methods. This kind of structure made both flows near the inter face flow parallel to the inter face. The inter face was smooth and steady. The mass trans fer rate could be judged by the linear velocity of the flows. The technique can be used for the analyses of the control step in both phases near the inter face in a diffusion control process. A preliminary hydrodynamics and mass trans fer study on the cell was presented, which ensures the distinguishing between a diffusion and a chemical reaction control process. A simplified mass transfer equation,N =0.5303D 1 /2* (Ci- Cb)* (V / B) 1/2, was achieved.展开更多

The effects of stirring speed, temperature and specific interfacial area on the extraction rate were examined. The results indicate that mass transfer kinetics of La(III) is a mixed-controlled process influenced by interfacial reaction. On the basis of mass transfer kinetic results in the extraction of La(III) by [A336][CA-12], the extraction rate equation of La(III) is proposed in terms of pseudo-firstorder constants, which is supported by the measured thermodynamic equations. The mass-transfer kinetic model deduced from the rate controlling step is adequate to interpret the experimental data qualitatively.展开更多

Doping was carried out by adding 1, 3 and 5 wt% of Ni. Bath temperature was kept as 10℃ and films were annealed at 250℃ under vacuum. Polycrystalline nature of films with an orthorhombic phase was analyzed by X-ray diffraction technique. Scanning electron microscopy was used for morphological study which shows that grains are spherical. Optical measurements using transmittance data indicated that films have a direct band gap of 1.00 - 2.60 eV with an absorption coefficient of ~104 cm-1 in visible range. The average value of electrical conductivity was calculated as 1.66, 1.11 and 1.06 (Ω·cm)-1 for as-deposited films and 1.90, 2.08 and 1.15 (Ω·cm)-1 for annealed films while refractive indices were found as 2.18 - 3.38 and 1.91 - 3.74 respectively. The obtained films can be used for solar cell applications due to their good absorbing properties like higher absorption coefficient and refractive index values.展开更多

The piecewise constant pressures of cells arising from the current time sub-cell densities and the current time isentropic speed of sound are introduced. Multipling the initial cell density by the initial sub-cell volumes obtains the sub-cell Lagrangian masses, and dividing the masses by the current time sub-cell volumes gets the current time sub- cell densities. By the current time piecewise constant pressures of cells, a scheme that conserves the momentum and total energy is constructed. The vertex velocities and the numerical fluxes through the cell interfaces are computed in a consistent manner due to an original solver located at the nodes. The numerical tests are presented, which are representative for compressible flows and demonstrate the robustness and accuracy of the Lagrangian cell-centered conservative scheme.展开更多

Radiosensitivity was determined in tumors diagnosed 2 weeks after radiation by observing changes in tumor size and markers as a response to MRI. Taking radiosensitivity as the gold standard, the cut-off value of DCE-MRI parameters was measured by receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve. Diagnostic accuracy of DCE-MRI parameters for predicting radiosensitivity was evaluated by ROC curve. Results: A significant elevation in transfer constant(K^trans) and extravascular extracellular space(Ve)(P=0.000), as well as a significant reduction in rate constant(Kep)(P=0.000) was observed in tumors. K^trans, relative K^trans, and relative Kep of the responsive group were significantly higher than non-responsive groups. No significant difference was found in Kep, Ve, and relative Ve between the two groups. Relative K^trans showed the best diagnostic value in predicting radiosensitivity with a sensitivity of 100%, specificity of 91.7%, positive predictive value(PPV) of 95.8%, and negative predictive value(NPV) of 100%.Conclusions: Relative K^trans appeared promising in predicting tumor response to radiation therapy(RT). It is implied that DCE-MRI pre-treatment is a requisite step in diagnostic procedures and a novel and reliable approach to guide clinical choice of RT.展开更多
