Considering a comprehensive range of intact rock properties and discontinuous structures of rock mass, twelve main factors influencing the evaluation blastability of rock mass were taken into account in the UM model, and the blastability evaluation index system of rock mass was constructed. The unascertained evaluation indices corresponding to the selected factors for the actual situation were solved both qualitatively and quantitatively. Then, the UM function of each evaluation index was obtained based on the initial data for the analysis of the blastability of six rock mass at a highway improvement cutting site in North Wales. The index weights of the factors were calculated by entropy theory, and credible degree identification (CDI) criteria were established according to the UM theory. The results of rock mass blastability evaluation were obtained by the CDI criteria. The results show that the UM model assessment results agree well with the actual records, and are consistent with those of the fuzzy sets evaluation method. Meanwhile, the unascertained superiority degree of rock mass blastability of samples S1-$6 which can be calculated by scoring criteria are 3.428 5, 3.453 3, 4.058 7, 3.675 9, 3.516 7 and 3.289 7, respectively. Furthermore, the proposed method can take into account large amount of uncertain information in blastability evaluation, which can provide an effective, credible and feasible way for estimating the blastability of rock mass. Engineering practices show that it can complete the blastability assessment systematically and scientifically without any assumption by the proposed model, which can be applied to practical engineering.展开更多

Rock hardness, drillability, blastability and specific energy of drilling are examples of parameters that have been estimated in the past using measurement while drilling techniques. In order to be able to properly utilize measurement while drilling techniques, it is important to properly collect, analyze and interpret extracted data. This paper deals with processing of measurement while drilling data such as rate of penetration, rotary speed, rotary torque and pulldown force collected from rotary blasthole drills.Different methods are discussed to calculate a true rate of penetration which is the most important monitored drill variable for use in rock mass characterization. Then specific energy of drilling is defined and calculated based on electrical and mechanical inputs and the results are compared. The results show that specific energy of drilling can be estimated using the drill's primary drive systems' electrical responses with good accuracy when compared to values based on mechanical inputs.展开更多

The blasting test was carried out for ten times at some tunnels of Changba Lead-Zinc Mine. The damage depth of surrounding rock caused by old blasting excavation (0.8-1.2 m) was confirmed. The relation between the cumulative damage degree and blast times was obtained. The results show that the sonic velocity decreases gradually with increasing blast times, hut the damage degree (D) increases. The damage cumulative law is non-linear. The damage degree caused by blast decreases with increasing distance, and damage effects become indistinct. The blasting damage of rock mass is anisotropic. The damage degree of rock mass within charging range is maximal. And the more the charge is, the more severe the damage degree of rock mass is. The test results provide references for researches of mechanical parameters of rock mass and dynamic stability analysis of underground chambers.展开更多

Archived samples are irreplaceable and therefore it is valuable to develop analytical techniques that require minimal sample vo-lume. This work describes the measurement of trace elements Mg, Cu, Fe, Zn and ultratrace elements Cd, Co, Mn, Pb in limited quantity (150 μL) human serum or plasma samples. Samples were digested using a hotblock and analyzed using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The analytical method was evaluated using a quadrupole (Q) and sector field high resolution (SF) instrument to analyze trace elements in Seronorm? quality control serum material. The method was used to analyze 1888 blinded human plasma samples which were archived for the National Cancer Institute from the Nutrition Intervention Trial in Linxian China. The inductively coupled plasma method was capable of accurately analyzed limited quantity samples of human serum and plasma for the trace elements Mg, Cu, Fe Zn and the ultra trace elements Co, Mn and Pb. The concentration of Cd in human plasma samples was below the level of detection for 75% of the samples analyzed.展开更多

Isochronous mass spectrometry (IMS), using astorage ring combined with an in-flight separator, has been shown to be a powerful tool for mass measurementof exotic nuclei[1]. Recently, masses of many proton-rich nuclides were accurately determined at the HIRFL-CSRfacility[2]. In this paper, we described the first isochronous mass measurement of neutron-rich nuclides at CSRe.This experiment was performed at the end of 2011. In the experiment, the primary beam of 86Kr28+ ions wasaccumulated and accelerated to an energy of 460.65 MeV/u in the synchrotron CSRm. The 86Kr28+ ions were fastextracted and focused on a 15 mm thick beryllium target which was placed at the entrance of the RIBLL2 (anin-flight fragment separator).展开更多

A newmass evaluation method has been developed in the data analysis. In ESR the electron-cooling process was continuously applied to the storedions. To first order approximation, the revolution-frequencies (f) of the stored ions in the ESR are related to theirvelocities (v) and mass-to-charge ratios (m=q) of the ions in rest frame:展开更多

The analysis is based on empirical relations that exist among some particle masses, and also on several theoretical assumptions, of which the most significant is that the electromagnetic contribution to the electron’s mass is finite, and given by f ameb, where f is a dimensionless parameter that is shown to be equal to 1.032409810 (63), and where meb is the electron’s “bare mass.” The relations for a and f are homogeneous degree zero in the particle masses. The relations for f in terms of particle masses are found by trial and error. A quadratic equation is given relating a to f and me/mp. This equation is used in the application to cosmological measurements of a, and , where it is shown that, to a few percent accuracy, δa/a ≈ -δμ/μ. This relation can serve to test the validity of measurements of a and μ.展开更多

文摘Cephalopods play key roles in global marine ecosystems as both predators and preys.Regressive estimation of original size and weight of cephalopod from beak measurements is a powerful tool of interrogating the feeding ecology of predators at higher trophic levels. In this study, regressive relationships among beak measurements and body length and weight were determined for an octopus species(Octopus variabilis),an important endemic cephalopod species in the northwest Pacific Ocean.A total of 193 individuals(63 males and 130 females) were collected at a monthly interval from Jiaozhou Bay,China.Regressive relationships among 6 beak measurements(upper hood length,UHL;upper crest length,UCL;lower hood length,LHL;lower crest length,LCL;and upper and lower beak weights) and mantle length(ML),total length(TL) and body weight(W) were determined. Results showed that the relationships between beak size and TL and beak size and ML were linearly regressive, while those between beak size and W fitted a power function model.LHL and UCL were the most useful measurements for estimating the size and biomass of O.variabilis.The relationships among beak measurements and body length(either ML or TL) were not significantly different between two sexes;while those among several beak measurements(UHL,LHL and LBW) and body weight(W) were sexually different.Since male individuals of this species have a slightly greater body weight distribution than female individuals, the body weight was not an appropriate measurement for estimating size and biomass, especially when the sex of individuals in the stomachs of predators was unknown. These relationships provided essential information for future use in size and biomass estimation of O.variabilis,as well as the estimation of predator/prey size ratios in the diet of top predators.
文摘The information extracted from monitoring of rotary blasthole drills helps to optimize the overall mining operation. The results show that specific energy of drilling can be estimated using the drill's primary drive systems' electrical responses with good accuracy when compared to values based on mechanical inputs.

文摘The principle of sonic wave measurement was introduced, and cumulative damage effects of underground engineering rock mass under blasting load were studied by in situ test, using RSM-SY5 intelligent sonic wave apparatus. The test results provide references for researches of mechanical parameters of rock mass and dynamic stability analysis of underground chambers.
文摘The TORE SUPRA Tokamak was built by EURATOM-CEA association. The NbTi conductor of superconducting coils is inserted in a tight enclosure filled with pressurized superfluid helium of 0.125 MPa at 1.8 K. The thick casing is cooled to 4.5 K by 1.8 MPa in 4.5 K supercritical helium circulation. Around this thick casing, a 80 K thermal shield protects the parts at very low temperatures from the thermal radiation, which is cooled by pressurized helium at 80 K and 1.8 MPa. A new measurement method for helium mass flow rate of 80 K shield and 4.5 K casing is described in this paper. The commissioning was done on the two helium loops of the cryoplant: the supercritical 4.5 K thick casing and 80 K shields. The purpose is to improve control of the 4.5 K and 80 K refrigeration loops.

文摘Decreasing the forest ecosystem leaf-area index error(LAIe)helps accurately estimate the growth and light energy utilization of aboveground foliage.Analyzing light transmission in forest ecosystems can effectively determine LAIe.The LAI-2200 plant canopy analyzer(PCA)is used extensively for rapid field-effective LAI(LAIe)measurements and primarily to measure forest canopy LAIe values. However, sometimes this parameter must also be measured in forests with small clearings. In this study,we used the LAI-2200 PCA to obtain one A-value and four B-values each for the canopy, herbaceous layer, and forest ecosystem LAIe.Field measurements showed that the three LAIe types were obviously different. In certain quadrats, the average herbaceous layer(Dicranopteris dichotoma Bernh.)LAIe apparently exceeded that of the Pinus massoniana forest ecosystem. The sources of this error were measuring and recording A-value readings for small canopies and underestimating the ecosystem LAIe.We obtained similar coefficients of determination for both the pre-recomputation and post-recomputation of the canopy and forest ecosystem LAIe(R^2C 0.96 and R^2C 0.99,respectively);thus,the error was decreased.Measuring field LAIe with the LAI-2200 PCA and recomputation should compensate for LAIe underestimation in complex forest ecosystems.

文摘In public health studies limited volumes of blood are often collected and stored for future hypothesis testing. The concentration of Cd in human plasma samples was below the level of detection for 75% of the samples analyzed.
文摘Mass is one of the fundamental properties of atomic nuclei. The 86Kr28+ ions were fastextracted and focused on a 15 mm thick beryllium target which was placed at the entrance of the RIBLL2 (anin-flight fragment separator).
文摘Precision mass measurements of neutron-deficient 152Sm projectile fragments were conducted in 2005 at theFRS-ESR facility at GSI Helmholtz centre[1, 2], employing the time-resolved Schottky Mass Spectrometry[3]. A newmass evaluation method has been developed in the data analysis. The systematic error in the mass determinationwas significantly reduced with the new method[4].Exotic nuclei, produced by projectile fragmentation of a 615 AMeV 152Sm primary beam in a 4.009 g/cm2beryllium target, were transmitted and B-separated by the fragment separator FRS and then injected and storedin the experimental storage ring ESR. In ESR the electron-cooling process was continuously applied to the storedions. To first order approximation, the revolution-frequencies (f) of the stored ions in the ESR are related to theirvelocities (v) and mass-to-charge ratios (m=q) of the ions in rest frame:
文摘In conventional isochronous mass spectrometry (IMS), single time-of-flight (TOF) method is adopted to measurethe ions' revolution times in a storage ring which can then be used to calculate the ions' masses. However, themass-to-charge ratio (m=q) is only related to the revolution time (T) under the condition that is equal to taccording to the following equation:

文摘In order to accurately measure an object’s three-dimensional surface shape, the influence of sampling on it was studied.First,on the basis of deriving spectra expressions through the Fourier transform, the generation of CCD pixels was analyzed, and its expression was given. Then, based on the discrete expression of deformation fringes obtained after sampling, its Fourier spectrum expression was derived, resulting in an infinitely repeated"spectra island"in the frequency domain. Finally,on the basis of using a low-pass filter to remove high-order harmonic components and retaining only one fundamental frequency component, the inverse Fourier transform was used to reconstruct the signal strength.A method of reducing the sampling interval,i.e.,reducing the number of sampling points per fringe, was proposed to increase the ratio between the sampling frequency and the fundamental frequency of the grating. This was done to reconstruct the object’s surface shape more accurately under the condition of m>4.The basic principle was verified through simulation and experiment. In the simulation, the sampling intervals were 8 pixels,4 pixels,2 pixels, and 1 pixel, the maximum absolute error values obtained in the last three situations were 88.80%,38.38%,and 31.50%in the first situation, respectively, and the corresponding average absolute error values are 71.84%,43.27%,and 32.26%.It is demonstrated that the smaller the sampling interval, the better the recovery effect.Taking the same four sampling intervals in the experiment as in the simulation can also lead to the same conclusions. The simulated and experimental results show that reducing the sampling interval can improve the accuracy of object surface shape measurement and achieve better reconstruction results.

文摘Continuous-flow microchannels are widely employed for synthesizing various materials, including nanoparticles, polymers, and metal-organic frameworks(MOFs),to name a few.Microsystem technology allows precise control over reaction parameters, resulting in purer, more uniform, and structurally stable products due to more effective mass transfer manipulation.However,continuous-flow synthesis processes may be accompanied by the emergence of spatial convective structures initiating convective flows. On the one hand, convection can accelerate reactions by intensifying mass transfer. On the other hand,it may lead to non-uniformity in the final product or defects, especially in MOF microcrystal synthesis. The ability to distinguish regions of convective and diffusive mass transfer may be the key to performing higher-quality reactions and obtaining purer products. In this study,we investigate, for the first time, the possibility of using the information complexity measure as a criterion for assessing the intensity of mass transfer in microchannels, considering both spatial and temporal non-uniformities of liquid’s distributions resulting from convection formation. We calculate the complexity using shearlet transform based on a local approach. In contrast to existing methods for calculating complexity, the shearlet transform based approach provides a more detailed representation of local heterogeneities. Our analysis involves experimental images illustrating the mixing process of two non-reactive liquids in a Y-type continuous-flow microchannel under conditions of double-diffusive convection formation. The obtained complexity fields characterize the mixing process and structure formation, revealing variations in mass transfer intensity along the microchannel. We compare the results with cases of liquid mixing via a pure diffusive mechanism.Upon analysis,it was revealed that the complexity measure exhibits sensitivity to variations in the type of mass transfer, establishing its feasibility as an indirect criterion for assessing mass transfer intensity. The method presented can extend beyond flow analysis, finding application in the controlling of microstructures of various materials(porosity, for instance)or surface defects in metals, optical systems and other materials that hold significant relevance in materials science and engineering.
文摘Highly accurate algebraic relations between the fine structure constant a and a wide range of particle masses are given, ranging from Δa/a = (2.1 ±0.1)×10-7 to Δa/a = (-2.7 ±0.3 ±0.6)×10-8, and with a very large standard deviation, ranging to Δa/a = -5.5×10-9. This relation can serve to test the validity of measurements of a and μ.

文摘This paper presents a new technique for measuring the bunch length of a high-energy electron beam at a bunch-by-bunch rate in storage rings. This technique uses the time–frequency-domain joint analysis of the bunch signal to obtain bunch-by-bunch and turn-by-turn longitudinal parameters, such as bunch length and synchronous phase. The bunch signal is obtained using a button electrode with a bandwidth of several gigahertz. The data acquisition device was a high-speed digital oscilloscope with a sampling rate of more than 10 GS/s,and the single-shot sampling data buffer covered thousands of turns. The bunch-length and synchronous phase information were extracted via offline calculations using Python scripts. The calibration coefficient of the system was determined using a commercial streak camera. Moreover, this technique was tested on two different storage rings and successfully captured various longitudinal transient processes during the harmonic cavity debugging process at the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility(SSRF),and longitudinal instabilities were observed during the single-bunch accumulation process at Hefei Light Source(HLS).For Gaussian-distribution bunches, the uncertainty of the bunch phase obtained using this technique was better than 0.2 ps,and the bunch-length uncertainty was better than 1 ps.The dynamic range exceeded 10 ms.This technology is a powerful and versatile beam diagnostic tool that can be conveniently deployed in high-energy electron storage rings.
