As the study suggested that the basic position of the primary forestry industry should be strengthened and promoted, deep processing capacity and resources utilization of the secondary industry should be further developed, and the leading role of the tertiary industry should be further enhanced in accordance with the low carbon concept.展开更多

Acting as an important driving force for the change of the regional land use,the change of industrial structure also has some influences on the ecological environment.The assessment and mechanism analysis of these inf...Acting as an important driving force for the change of the regional land use,the change of industrial structure also has some influences on the ecological environment.The assessment and mechanism analysis of these influences will be beneficial to the sustainable development of regional economy and the im- provement of relationships between man and earth.Taking Chuzhou City in Anhui Province as an example,on the basis of a qualitative analysis of the influence of the development of differ- ent industry on the regional ecological environment,this paper builds the influence factor of industrial structure on natural envi- ronment and the influence index of industrial structure on natural environment,makes a quantitative assessment of the change of the industrial structure and its comprehensive influences on the eco- logical environment in the Chuzhou City from 1974 to 1995. Studies show that,during the analysed period,Chuzhou City's industrial structure has changed markedly,having undergone two transformations.The influence of industrial structure on natural environment from 1974 to 1995 increased as a whole,while from 1996 to 2004,the influence of industrial structure on natural en- vironment decreased year-on-year.These changes indicate that the regional change of industrial structure results in better ecological effects.Finally,we propose appropriate regulatory measures ac- cording to our research results.展开更多

Based on GM(1,1) model, information model is established to predict the forestry industrial structure of China in the next 10 years. Result shows that grey correlations between the three forestry industries and the forestry output value are 0.849 1, 0.731 1 and 0.821 3, respectively, with its order being secondary industry<tertiary industry<primary industry. Prediction result shows that forestry industry of China is in the middle stage of industrialization; and both secondary and tertiary industries will develop rapidly and become the leading industries.展开更多

Our intent is to place that reduction in a larger context, that of the process of industrialization. A lengthy time perspective is combined with a cross-sectional approach-China plus five other countries-and addressed through two general models. The findings are salutary. First, they suggest that a diversified economic structure is consistent with diminished intensity in energy use. Secondly, and the obverse of the first, they imply that a diversified energy structure promotes reductions in CO2 emissions. Finally, one is led inevitably to the conclusion that, together, the findings point to a path for countries to transform their economies while at the same time undertaking to drastically moderate their energy use, switching from a pattern of heavy carbon emissions to one in which lighter carbon emissions prevail. The implications of such findings for environmental management are enormous.展开更多

Reduction of carbon dioxide(CO2)emissions is one of the biggest challenges for global sustainable development,in which economic growth characterized by industrialization plays a formidable role.We innovatively adopted...Reduction of carbon dioxide(CO2)emissions is one of the biggest challenges for global sustainable development,in which economic growth characterized by industrialization plays a formidable role.We innovatively adopted the input and output(I-O)table of 41 countries released by World I-O Database to determine the industrial structure change and analyze its impact on CO2 emission evolution by developing a cross-country panel model.The empirical results show that industrial structure change has a significantly negative effect on CO2 emissions;to be specific,0.1 unit increase in the linkage of manufacturing sector and service sector will lead to a decrease of 0.94 metric tons per capita CO2 emissions,indicating that upgrading industrial structure contributes to carbon mitigation and sustainable development.Further,urbanization,technology and trade openness have significantly negative impact on CO2 emissions,while economy growth and energy use take positive impacts.In particular,a 1%increase in per capita income will contribute to an increase of 8.6 metric tons per capita CO2 emissions.However,the effect of industrial structure on environment degradation is moderated by technology level.These findings fill the gaps of previous literature and provide valuable references for effective policies to mitigate CO2 emissions and achieve sustainable development.展开更多
