Three days ago, she accidentally swallowed several lumps of poorly-chewed chicken. Physical examination disclosed mild tenderness in the periumbilical area. Abdominal Computed tomography (CT) showed a suspicious penetration or perforation of the stomach wall measuring about 3 cm, by a linear radiopaque material at the lesser curvature of the antrum. The end of a chicken bone was very close to but did not penetrate the liver. Endoscopic examination revealed a chicken bone that penetrated into the prepyloric antrum. The penetrating chicken bone was removed with grasping forceps. Five endoscopic clips were applied immediately at the removal site and the periumbilical pain resolved promptly. After removal of the chicken bone, the patient was treated with conservative care for three days, after which she was completely asymptomatic and discharged without complication. To treat gastric penetration by a foreign body, endoclipping can be a useful method in patients with no signs or symptoms of peritoneal irritation.展开更多

[Methods] According to relevant theories such as Evaluation and expression of uncertainty in measurement, the uncertainty in the results of nitrofuran metabolites in chicken bone was analyzed and calculated combining with mathematical models. [Results] Under the addition amount of 1. 0 μg/kg,the uncertainty of the four nitrofuran metabolites was as follows: nitrofurazone metabolites C(SEM)= 0. 981 μg/kg,U = 0. 070 μg/kg,k = 2;furazolidone metabolites C(AOZ)= 1. 032 μg/kg,U = 0. 061 μg/kg,k = 2;furaltadone metabolites C(AMOZ)= 1. 068 μg/kg,U = 0. 076 μg/kg,k = 2;furadantin metabolites C(AHD)=1. 007 μg/kg,U = 0. 046 μg/kg,k = 2. [Conclusions]The uncertainty in the measurement process mainly comes from the purity of the standards, the preparation process, the sample weight, the number of repeated measurement and the recovery of spiked sample. The research results are of great significance for reducing uncertainty and improving data accuracy and reliability during actual operation.展开更多

In this study, chicken bone marrow (chBM) cells were cultured in medium with recombinant chicken granulocyte-macrophage colony stimulating factor (rGM-CSF) and recombinant chicken interleukin-4 (rIL-4) for 7 days, displayed the typical morphology of DCs. These immature chicken bone marrow-derived DCs (chBM-DCs) showed signifcant up-regulation of the putative CD11c and of major histocompatibility complex class II (MHC II), but CD40 and CD86 co-stimulatory molecules were almost no up-regulated. However, maturation with lipopolysaccharide (LPS), surface expression of CD40, CD86 was greatly increased. The phagocytosis of chBM-DCs was assessed by neutral red, and the phagocytosis decreased after stimulation. In mixed lymphocyte responses (MLR), stimulated chBM-DCs were more effective to T-cell stimulators than non-stimulated chBM-DCs. In addition, mRNA expression levels of IL-1β, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, IL-12, IFN-γ, TNF-α, CXCLi1 and CXCLi2 were assessed by real-time qPCR (qRT-PCR), and the results showed cultured chBM-DCs could be matured to a T helper cell type 1 (Th1)-promoting phenotype by LPS stimulation.展开更多

Chicks were inoculated intraperitoneally and intramuscularly with CAV at one day of age. The results showed that CAV inhibited proliferation of CFU-E and CFU-GM of chick bone marrow. In vitro culture, growth of CFU-E was inhibited from day 14 to 35 postinoculation (PI), and growth of CFU-GM was greatly inhibited from 7 to 21 days PI. Growth of CFU-E and CFU-GM recovered at day 42 PI. No effect was found on growth of CFU-F of bone marrow in chicks infected CAV.展开更多

According to the results, there were three genotypes (AA, AB and BB) of NPYgene in Donglan black-bone chicken group. Different genotypes exhibited significant effects (P 〈 0. 05 ) on the total number of eggs at 300 days of age. The total number of eggs at 300 days of age of AA genotype was significantly higher than that of BB genotype (P 〈 0. 05). Therefore, the polymorphic site of NPY gene could be used as a candidate molecular marker that affects egg laying in Donglan black-bone chicken.展开更多

The results showed that the reproductive performance, slaughter performance and body size of the Muchuan black-bone chicken of Generation 1( G_1)were all improved compared with those of the Generation 0( G_0)( P <0. 05). At the age of 300 d,the live weight, carcass weight, and leg muscle weight of the G_1 were significantly higher than those of the G_0( P <0. 05); and the chest width of the cocks of the G_1 was significantly higher than that of the G_0( P <0. 05). It suggests that after rigorous selection and utilization of modern poultry breeding techniques, the reproductive performance, slaughter performance and survival rate of Muchuan black-bone chicken can be improved significantly.展开更多
