Texture regulation is a prominent method to modify the mechanical properties and anisotropy of magnesium alloy.In this work,the Mg-1Al-0.3Ca-0.5Mn-0.2Gd(wt.%)alloy sheet with TD-tilted and circular texture was fabrica...Texture regulation is a prominent method to modify the mechanical properties and anisotropy of magnesium alloy.In this work,the Mg-1Al-0.3Ca-0.5Mn-0.2Gd(wt.%)alloy sheet with TD-tilted and circular texture was fabricated by unidirectional rolling(UR)and multidirectional rolling(MR)method,respectively.Unlike generating a strong in-plane mechanical anisotropy in conventional TD-tilted texture,the novel circular texture sample possessed a weak in-plane yield anisotropy.This can be rationalized by the similar proportion of soft grains with favorable orientation for basalslip and{10.12}tensile twinning during the uniaxial tension of circular-texture sample along different directions.Moreover,compared with the TD-tilted texture,the circular texture improved the elongation to failure both along the rolling direction(RD)and transverse direction(TD).By quasi-in-situ EBSD-assisted slip trace analysis,higher activation of basal slip was observed in the circular-texture sample during RD tension,contributing to its excellent ductility.When loading along the TD,the TD-tilted texture promoted the activation of{10.12}tensile twins significantly,thus providing nucleation sites for cracks and deteriorating the ductility.This research may shed new insights into the development of formable and ductile Mg alloy sheets by texture modification.展开更多
Texture synthesis has been developed for several years.The traditional technique can generate a larger image from a small image while avoid feeling of repetition or uncontinuity.Some constrained synthesis methods whic...Texture synthesis has been developed for several years.The traditional technique can generate a larger image from a small image while avoid feeling of repetition or uncontinuity.Some constrained synthesis methods which can synthesize image according to special location demand or other demands have been also proposed in recent years.However,in general,these constrained texture synthesis methods are simple and have few controllable factors to meet user's diverse needs.To control multiple-sample texture synthesis more flexibly in various aspects such as synthesis location,proportion and semantic objects,we present an interactive texture synthesis approach based on circular patches and constrained by objects according to a certain ratio.With this approach,source exemplars and the target image are firstly divided into several regions with different characters.Users can click the blocks in the source exemplars and the want-to-be-synthesized region in the target image,and then texture in the target image is synthesized with the corresponding regions in the source exemplars.In the process of texture synthesis,circular patch instead of square patch is used to eliminate the aliasing phenomena.Images are synthesized from multiple sample images with ratio constraint and experiments on images show that our approach can get effective results of ratio-constrained multi-sample synthesis.展开更多

This paper describes the metho...Realistic simulation of underwater scene is always difficult because of the special and complex vision effects in underwater space. Seabed is an important part of underwater environment. This paper describes the methods for seabed scene simulation based on OpenGL. It includes construction of fluctuant terrain based on the random sinusoidal algorithm, simulation of seabed flicker effect by means of circular texture mapping and generation of turbidity effect by using fog techniques. For the application based on the leading high level 3D development environment - Vega, underwater scene simulation is still a difficulty since there is no module for it. Rased on the analysis of Vega software and the research on seabed scene simulation methods, a Vega extending module named 'Underwater Space' was created through developing module class and extending lynx interface. The module class was designed through developing DLL written in C + + . The Lynx was extended through developing keyword configure file, GUI configure file and lynx plug-in DLL. The problem that Vega can't simulate underwater space, is elementarily resolved. The results show that this module is efficient, easy using, and the seabed scene images are vivid.展开更多
The problems of severe sawtooth wear,harsh sawing noise,and low surface quality during the processing of circular saw blades need to be solved.To improve the cutting performance of TiC-based cermet saw blades,microtex...The problems of severe sawtooth wear,harsh sawing noise,and low surface quality during the processing of circular saw blades need to be solved.To improve the cutting performance of TiC-based cermet saw blades,microtextures parallel to the cutting edge were fabricated on rough and fine sawteeth by laser machining.The cutting tests were performed on a sawing platform under lubricated conditions.Models of the sawing arc length and working sawtooth cutting force variations were developed for sawing steel pipes,and the accuracy of the sawing force model was verified experimentally.The results indicate that the variations in the sawing force are proportional to the sawing arc length.The circular saw blades with microtextures that did not penetrate the sawtooth rake face exhibited the lowest cutting force,sawing noise,and highest machined surface quality.Furthermore,the worn-out distance of the rougher and finisher sawteeth was reduced by approximately 7.4%and 44.1%,respectively,compared with conventional circular saw blades.The main failure modes of sawteeth were tip wear,rake face adhesion,and oxidative wear.In addition,the mechanism by which the textures improve the cutting and wear properties of TiC-based circular saw blades was discussed.This study provided a significant concept for enhancing the cutting performance of circular saw blades and improving the machined surface quality.展开更多
