Antioxidant Activity of 50 Traditional Chinese Medicinal Materials Varies with Total Phenolics 被引量:1

This study was designed to determine the total phenolic content of 50 herbs and to examine their antioxidant potential. In the sample preparation, 60% ethanol was chosen as the extraction solvent for the subsequent experiments. Folin-Cicolteau phenol reagent and a colorimetric method were used to determine the total phenolic content of the selected herbs. The result showed that total phenolic content of those herbs ranged from 2 to 185 mg/g. In antioxidant assay, the ferric reducing/antioxidant power (FRAP) values ranged from 2 to 134 mg GAE/g;the IC50 values of DPPH?·, ·OH and ?scavenging were in the range of 0.06 - 5.50 mg/mL, 0.017 - 0.636 mg/mL and 0.050 - 0.681 mg/mL respectively. Flos caryophylli was the exceptant in the ?scavenging assay because there was no linear relation between the concentration and the scavenging percentage. Compared to gallic acid, ascorbic acid and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) in antioxidant assay as positive control, the most potential antioxidant herbs were Cacumen platycladi, Radix et Rhizoma rhei, Rhizoma rhodiolae crenulatae, and Rhizoma sanguisorbae with considerable content of phenolics. Especially, a positive and significant correlation was found between the total phenolic content and FRAP value or DPPH· scavenging percentage. 展开更多

In recent years,the price of traditional Chinese medicinal materials soars continuously,and the resulting price risk increasingly looms large,which has critically affected midstream and downstream industries and peoples' demand for drug,and imperiled healthy and orderly development of traditional Chinese medicinal industries.Based on the status quo of continuous skyrocketing price of traditional Chinese medicinal materials at present,we winkle out the root cause of soaring price as follows:the supply and demand lose balance;the production costs hike up;there are other factors responsible for soaring price.This paper further analyses the impact of sharp increase in price of traditional Chinese medicinal materials on all links of industry chain as follows:the medicinal herb growers never benefit from soaring price;the counterfeiters and forgers in midstream industry increase;the gross profit rate of Chinese medicine enterprises declines.In accordance with the risk arising from abnormal fluctuation in price of traditional Chinese medicinal materials,corresponding precautionary measures are put forward as follows:promote the quality of traditional Chinese medicinal materials through management of value chain;curtail the production and management cost of traditional Chinese medicinal materials through management of organization chain;stabilize price of traditional Chinese medicinal materials through management of information chain;reduce transaction cost of traditional Chinese medicinal materials through management of logistics chain. 展开更多

OBJECTIVE Our previous studies demonstrated that various ingredients from the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)for promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis,as exemplified by cryptotanshinone and salvianolic acid B,exerted striking effects on modulating angiogenesis and vascular permeability,which suggests that they may be effective in treating vascular leak-driven diseases(e.g.tumor,cerebral cavernous malformation and diabetic retinopathy).However,the lack of reliable and advanced technologies and models sets up difficult hurdles for better understanding the role of TCM for promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis.To this end,this study is to outline numerous cutting-edge platforms that can be utilized for exploring the function of TCM for promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis in vascular leak-driven diseases.METHODS Two-photon laser scanning fluorescence microscopy was used to observe the interactions between neutrophils and blood vessels in a real-time manner.Dynamic flow system was employed to mimic the in vivo behaviors of neutrophils.RIP1-Tag5 spontaneous pancreatic cancer model was used to study the function of tumor blood vessels.CCM2ECKO(deletion of CCM2 in endothelial cells)mice were employed to establish the cerebral cavernous malformation(CCM)animal model.Micro-computed tomography(micro-CT)was utilized to assess the CCM lesion.Müller cell-knockout mouse model was used to study the progression of diabetic retinopathy.Vascular permeability in this model was assessed by fluorescein angiography.RESULTS The interactions between neutrophils and endothelial cells involve a series of complicated processes,including rolling,adhesion,intraluminal crawling and transmigration,which were all monitored in vivo by two-photon laser scanning fluorescence microscopy in a real-time manner.Dynamic flow system was capable of recapitulating the biological behaviors of neutrophils in vitro.Tumor vascular function in particular vascular perfusion could be assessed in the RIP1-Tag5 spontaneous pancreatic cancer model.In terms of CCM studies,specific deletion of CCM2 in endothelial cells resulted in the initiation of CCM lesion.The size and number of CCM lesions could be visualized and quantified by micro-CT.Furthermore,the Müller cell-knockout mouse model was able to precisely reflect the clinical symptoms of diabetic retinopathy.Vascular leak could be monitored at different time points using fluorescein angiography.CONCLUSION An array of high technologies and animal models can be used in investigating the occurrence and progression of multiple vascular leak-driven diseases.The pre-clinical and clinical studies of TCM for promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis provide fundamental support for the application of the above-mentioned platforms,with the purpose of uncovering the scientific basis of TCM for promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis. 展开更多

AIM: To observe the therapeutic effects of new traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) therapy on coagulation disorder and accompanying intractable jaundice in HBV-related liver cirrhosis patients. METHODS: Using stratified random sampling according to fibrinogen (Fib) levels,145 liver cirrhosis patients due to hepatitis B complicated by coagulation disorder were treated. Of them,70 in research group were treated with TCM by "nourishing yin,cooling blood and invigorating blood circulation" and Western medicine,75 in control group were treated with conventional Western medicine. The indexes of liver function,coagulation function and bleeding events were observed and compared. RESULTS: The prothrombin time (PT) was shorter and the fibrinogen (Fib) level was higher in the research group than in the control group (Fib = 1.6-2.0 g/L,1.1-1.5 g/L,and ≤ 1.0 g/L). The total bilirubin (TBIL) level was significantly lower in the research group than in the control group,except for the subgroup of FIB ≤ 1.0 g/L. CONCLUSION: TCM therapy can improve coagulation fuction and decrease TBIL. 展开更多

Traditional Chinese medicine for activating blood circulation and detoxifying in unstable angina pectoris:A systematic review and meta-analysis

Objective:The purpose of this review was to evaluate the effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine for activating blood circulation and detoxifying(ABCD)in patients with unstable angina pectoris.Methods:We performed an electronic literature search of six medical databases for relevant articles published up to December 2014.Randomized controlled trials that compared ABCD Chinese medicine(alone or alongside conventional drugs)with conventional drugs or other Chinese medicines alone were included.A meta-analysis was performed for the following outcome measures:reduction of angina symptoms,electrocardiogram improvement,blood lipid levels,inflammatory factor levels,and plasma fibrinogen levels.Results:In total,11 moderate-to low-quality studies involving 686 patients were included.The evidence indicated that ABCD Chinese medicine exhibited superior effectiveness in relieving angina symptoms compared with conventional drugs[relative risk,1.23;95%confidence interval,1.05e1.44];however,electrocardiogram improvement was not very significant(relative risk,1.21;95%confidence interval,0.91e1.62).Moreover,ABCD Chinese medicine exhibited superior anti-inflammatory,anticoagulant,and lipid-lowering effects compared with other medicines.Conclusions:Within the methodological limitations of the included studies,our results suggest that ABCD Chinese medicine is beneficial for the treatment of unstable angina pectoris. 展开更多

In China,traditional Chinese medicine is widely used in the treatment of ischemic stroke,but its prescription rules needs to be further studied.This paper uses the traditional Chinese medicine inheritance auxiliary system(a software)to analyze the composition rules of a large number of prescriptions for the treatment of ischemic stroke,and discusses the clinical rationality of the new prescriptions.We found that the prescriptions for the treatment of ischemic stroke are mainly composed by herbs for promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis,dredging collaterals and tonifying deficiency,and some of the new prescriptions are also in line with this characteristic.This paper can provide reference for clinical prescription in the treatment of ischemic stroke and the development of related new drugs. 展开更多

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis in terms of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) for managing renal fibrosis(RF) in patients with chronic kidney disease(CKD).METHODS:We searched randomized controlled trials(RCTs) from eight databases.RESULTS:Sixteen eligible studies with 1,356 participants were included in this study.Compared to treatment with Western Medicine(WM) alone,the combined treatment with activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis in terms of TCM(ARTCM) and WM to manage RF in patients with CKD significantly ameliorated type Ⅳ collagen(C-Ⅳ)(SMD:-2.17,95% CI:3.01 to-1.34),type Ⅲ procollagen(PC-Ⅲ)(SMD:-1.08,95% CI:-1.64 to-0.53),laminin(LN)(SMD:-1.28,95% CI:-1.65 to-0.90),transforming growth factor β 1(TGF-β1)(SMD:-0.65,95% CI:-1.18 to-0.12),serum creatinine(Scr)(SMD:-1.36,95% CI:-1.85 to-0.87),blood urea nitrogen(BUN)(MD:-1.51,95% CI:-2.59 to-0.43),and 24 h urine protein(24h Upro)(SMD:-1.23;95% CI:-1.96 to-0.50).The level of hyaluronic acid(HA) was similar in both types of treatment(SMD:-0.74,95% CI:-1.91 to 0.44).The subgroup analysis showed that the duration of 8 weeks might affect the concentration of C-Ⅳ,PC-Ⅲ,and LN(P < 0.05).The effectiveness of the longer duration to C-Ⅳ,PC-Ⅲ,and LN was not certain.However,the result should be interpreted in care.The safety of the treatment using ARTCM and WM could not be evaluated because a few studies had reported adverse effects.The results of the Meta-analysis were not stable enough.There was publication bias for the reports on Scr(P = 0.001),C-Ⅳ(P = 0.001),PC-Ⅲ(P = 0.026),and LN(P = 0.030) and no publication bias for the reports on BUN(P = 0.293).The quality of evidence varied from low to very low.CONCLUSIONS:The combined treatment using ARTCM and WM to manage RF in patients with CKD has some advantages over treatment with WM alone.High-quality RCTs need to be conducted for the strong support. 展开更多

系统梳理分析2022年国家自然科学基金心血管领域中、西医学面上项目、青年科学基金项目和地区科学基金项目3类常规项目的申请和资助情况、所涉及主要病种、研究热点和研究思路。结果显示,两个领域研究的主要病种相似,研究热点也基本一... 系统梳理分析2022年国家自然科学基金心血管领域中、西医学面上项目、青年科学基金项目和地区科学基金项目3类常规项目的申请和资助情况、所涉及主要病种、研究热点和研究思路。结果显示,两个领域研究的主要病种相似,研究热点也基本一致。均以动脉粥样硬化、冠心病、心力衰竭、高血压、继发性心肌损伤和心律失常为主,主要开展表观遗传学、外泌体、细胞焦亡或铁死亡、细胞自噬、肠道微生物群以及线粒体功能方面的研究,思路呈现多样化的特点。但西医心血管领域的病种更为广泛,还包括心脏移植等中医心血管领域不涉及的病种。在科学问题导向和研究内容方面,中医心血管领域要求在中医药理论的指导下,以解决中医学科的关键科学问题为导向,体现中医药的特色。此外,研究热点只是探索科学问题的技术手段,应深入凝练科学问题,避免盲目追求结合研究热点反而缺乏了创新性思想和科学依据,鼓励原创性基础研究。 展开更多

骨质疏松症“亏瘀致痿”的理论构建及临床应用

目的 探讨独活寄生汤内服联合中药外洗治疗类风湿关节炎肝肾亏虚证的临床疗效。方法 选取2019年12月—2022年12月南京中医药大学徐州附属医院收治的86例类风湿关节炎肝肾亏虚证患者,依照随机数表法分为观察组和对照组各43例。观察组予... 目的 探讨独活寄生汤内服联合中药外洗治疗类风湿关节炎肝肾亏虚证的临床疗效。方法 选取2019年12月—2022年12月南京中医药大学徐州附属医院收治的86例类风湿关节炎肝肾亏虚证患者,依照随机数表法分为观察组和对照组各43例。观察组予甲氨蝶呤+硫酸羟氯喹,并配合独活寄生汤+中药外洗治疗,对照组予甲氨蝶呤+硫酸羟氯喹治疗。比较两组患者临床疗效、简化疾病活动指数(SDAI)、临床疾病活动指数(CDAI)、红细胞沉降率(ESR)、C反应蛋白(CRP)及白细胞介素-6(IL-6)等指标。结果 观察组总有效率高于对照组(P<0.05)。治疗后,两组CDAI评分和SDAI评分均较本组治疗前下降(P<0.05),且观察组下降水平高于对照组(P<0.05)。治疗后,两组ESR、CRP、IL-6水平均较本组治疗前降低(P<0.05),且观察组低于对照组(P<0.05)。结论 独活寄生汤内服联合中药外洗治疗类风湿关节炎肝肾亏虚证,改善患者临床症状,疗效确切,并且能够减少炎症因子释放,安全可靠。 展开更多

活血化瘀方治疗子宫肌瘤临床观察

目的分析活血化瘀方辨证对子宫肌瘤的治疗效果及安全性。方法选取2020年1月—2022年1月江西省乐安县人民医院收治的60例子宫肌瘤患者临床资料,分为对照组与治疗组,各30例。对比两组治疗3周后的临床效果、性激素水平[卵泡生成素(FSH)、... 目的分析活血化瘀方辨证对子宫肌瘤的治疗效果及安全性。方法选取2020年1月—2022年1月江西省乐安县人民医院收治的60例子宫肌瘤患者临床资料,分为对照组与治疗组,各30例。对比两组治疗3周后的临床效果、性激素水平[卵泡生成素(FSH)、黄体生成素(LH)、雌二醇(E_(2))、孕激素(P)]、中医证候积分、不良反应。结果治疗组总有效率为93.33%(28/30),对照组为80.00%(24/30),两组比较差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。治疗前两组性激素水平比较差异无统计学意义(P>0.05);治疗后两组FSH、LH、E2、P均降低,且治疗组均低于对照组(P<0.05)。治疗前两组中医证候积分比较差异无统计学意义(P>0.05),治疗后治疗组经期异常、下腹胀痛、乳房胀痛、肛门下坠评分均低于对照组(P<0.05)。治疗组不良反应发生率为6.67%(2/30),对照组为16.67%(5/30),两组比较差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。结论活血化瘀方辨证对子宫肌瘤的治疗效果好,可改善患者临床症状及性激素水平,用药安全性高。 展开更多

Breast cancer is globally the most common invasive cancer in women and remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths.Surgery,radiotherapy,chemotherapy,immunotherapy,and endocrine therapy are currently the main treatments for this cancer type.However,some breast cancer patients are prone to drug resistance related to chemotherapy or immunotherapy,resulting in limited treatment efficacy.Consequently,traditional Chinese medicinal materials(TCMMs)as natural products have become an attractive source of novel drugs.In this review,we summarized the current knowledge on the active components of animal-derived TCMMs,including Ophiocordyceps sinensis-derived cordycepin,the aqueous and ethanolic extracts of O.sinensis,norcantharidin(NCTD),Chansu,bee venom,deer antlers,Ostrea gigas,and scorpion venom,with reference to marked anti-breast cancer effects due to regulating cell cycle arrest,proliferation,apoptosis,metastasis,and drug resistance.In future studies,the underlying mechanisms for the antitumor effects of these components need to be further investigated by utilizing multi-omics technologies.Furthermore,large-scale clinical trials are necessary to validate the efficacy of bioactive constituents alone or in combination with chemotherapeutic drugs for breast cancer treatment. 展开更多

为摸清山东省济南市钢城区中药资源分布现状,按照全国第四次中药资源普查的统一要求,通过野外调查、内业整理、数据分析等过程对钢城区野外药用植物资源的分布、中药材栽培等进行调查梳理。结果表明:钢城区现有野生中药资源180种,隶属... 为摸清山东省济南市钢城区中药资源分布现状,按照全国第四次中药资源普查的统一要求,通过野外调查、内业整理、数据分析等过程对钢城区野外药用植物资源的分布、中药材栽培等进行调查梳理。结果表明:钢城区现有野生中药资源180种,隶属于65科、151属,其中优势科有菊科、豆科、十字花科等,野生商陆、茜草、益母草的蕴藏量较大,野生中药资源中有69种被《中国药典》2020版收录;栽培品种丹参、黄芩、山楂、花椒、金银花、生姜的种植面积较大,其中白花丹参为地理标志性资源。本次资源普查对钢城区的野生药用植物资源种类和分布进行了全面了解,为区域性中药资源的开发利用以及中药产业可持续发展提供了科学依据。 展开更多

目的总结天然产物抗肺癌的机制,为候选治疗肺癌新的前瞻性药物提供理论基础。方法利用肺癌、中药、药理学及其组合等关键词,收集中国知网、万方、维普、PubMed、Science Direct和Web of science等数据库有关天然产物抗肺癌作用研究的文... 目的总结天然产物抗肺癌的机制,为候选治疗肺癌新的前瞻性药物提供理论基础。方法利用肺癌、中药、药理学及其组合等关键词,收集中国知网、万方、维普、PubMed、Science Direct和Web of science等数据库有关天然产物抗肺癌作用研究的文章,并进行总结。结果中医药治疗肺癌优势明显,具有药理机制新颖、毒性低、不良反应小的特点,可增效减毒、提高患者生活质量。天然产物主要包括黄酮类、生物碱类、多糖类、萜类、皂苷类和酚类,具有抑制肿瘤细胞周期、抑制增殖、诱导凋亡、促进自噬、抑制肿瘤细胞侵袭和转移的作用;天然产物与细胞毒性药物联合使用,可以增强疗效或降低耐药性,延缓肺癌的进展,延长患者的生存时间。结论中药含有多种黄酮、生物碱、萜及其苷类、多酚和其他可有效对抗肺癌的活性化合物,适合作为治疗肺癌的候选药物。 展开更多

补肾活血利水法治疗老年高血压合并轻度认知障碍临床观察

目的:观察补肾活血利水法治疗老年高血压合并轻度认知障碍患者的临床疗效。方法:选取老年高血压合并轻度认知障碍患者80例,按照随机数字表法分为两组各40例,对照组予以规范化降压药物治疗,治疗组在对照组基础上加用补肾活血利水方。治疗... 目的:观察补肾活血利水法治疗老年高血压合并轻度认知障碍患者的临床疗效。方法:选取老年高血压合并轻度认知障碍患者80例,按照随机数字表法分为两组各40例,对照组予以规范化降压药物治疗,治疗组在对照组基础上加用补肾活血利水方。治疗8周后分析比较两组患者治疗前后血压、24小时平均收缩压、舒张压、24小时收缩压标准差、舒张压标准差、简易精神状态量表(MMSE)、蒙特利尔认知评估量表(MoCA)评分以及尿微量白蛋白(UMAL)水平,并记录两组不良反应发生情况。结果:治疗后,治疗组总有效率92.5%,对照组总有效率77.5%(P﹤0.05);治疗后两组血压、24小时动态血压以及UMAL水平降低,MMSE、MoCA评分升高,以治疗组更明显(P﹤0.05)。结论:补肾活血利水法对老年高血压合并轻度认知障碍患者临床疗效确切,且无明显不良反应。 展开更多

Pharmacodynamics material basis and effective mechanisms are the two main issues to decipher the mechnisms of action of Traditional Chinese medicines(TCMs)for the treatment of diseases.TCMs,in“multi-component,multi-target,multi-pathway”paradigm,show satisfactory clinical results in complex diseases.New ideas and methods are urgently needed to explain the complex interactions between TCMs and diseases.Network pharmacology(NP)provides a novel paradigm to uncover and visualize the underlying interaction networks of TCMs against multifactorial diseases.The development and application of NP has promoted the safety,efficacy,and mechanism investigations of TCMs,which then reinforces the credibility and popularity of TCMs.The current organcentricity of medicine and the“one disease-one target-one drug”dogma obstruct the understanding of complex diseases and the development of effective drugs.Therefore,more attentions should be paid to shift from“phenotype and symptom”to“endotype and cause”in understanding and redefining current diseases.In the past two decades,with the advent of advanced and intelligent technologies(such as metabolomics,proteomics,transcriptomics,single-cell omics,and artificial intelligence),NP has been improved and deeply implemented,and presented its great value and potential as the next drug-discovery paradigm.NP is developed to cure causal mechanisms instead of treating symptoms.This review briefly summarizes the recent research progress on NP application in TCMs for efficacy research,mechanism elucidation,target prediction,safety evaluation,drug repurposing,and drug design. 展开更多
