Nowadays much concern has been showed on the research of teacher development and an effective way of teacher development, the action research. From the learning of these researches we get clearer that English teaching and learning is a continuous process in which many interrelated and intrinsic factors work together. Furthermore, we know that teachers' beliefs on teaching and learning play an important role in class. During the process of learning and teaching, a teacher's own learning from relevant books on education and learning helps a lot in increase teachers' awareness about English teaching and learning, and improving the classroom teaching. In this paper three effective applications of the results of the research of teacher development are introduced, which shows that a teacher is a decisive factor in the classroom setting and the research and learning about teacher development is useful for a teacher to improve himself or herself as a teacher. 展开更多

With the development of technology,the number of English learners who opt for online learning has been increasing.In the past,students had a tendency to download English materials and watch online videos for improving their English skills.Recently,thanks to a shift to online learning,students have been making more use of online synchronous oneon-one English classes to improve their English at leisure.Although this type of learning mode is becoming more and more popular,the study of the difficulties and challenges of English learners in such a field has been under-explored.This study attempts to use a qualitative approach to interview two English learners of different backgrounds to better understand the difficulties and challenges they encountered when using such a learning method.The two interviewees conclude points ranging from the learning aspect,distant feeling,signal delay,instability of the learning software and hardware that lead to technical problems.Certain measures to avoid the problems are also suggested in this paper. 展开更多

This paper aims to verify the family support situation for primary school children with intellectual disabilities learning in regular class and to explore various educational strategies to promote their development.A self-made questionnaire was used in this survey,and the parents of 380 intellectual disabled students were the subjects of this survey.It turns out that the overall family support for intellectual disabled children learning in regular class in China is good,but it is affected by the degree of obstacles.Factors such as grade,gender,and parental education had no significant effect on family support.It is the shared responsibility of the government,schools,and parents to promote the level of family support.Governments at all levels must implement family support projects,schools must carry out family education guidance to impart scientific parenting knowledge,and parents must take note of their own responsibilities,so as to promote the physical and mental development of children with intellectual disabilities. 展开更多

In view of the current situation of College English Teaching in many universities in China, that is, due to limited or lack of language laboratory, many universities take the form of large-size class in organizing English teaching, the result is that teachers dominate the English classroom, and students are in a passive input state, without much or enough learning autonomy. The writer of this paper suggests a teaching model by using Internet in after-class activities, which is supposed to be helpful in promoting students' participation in class activities and enhancing their learning autonomy. 展开更多
