This study aims to analyze the internal and external factors influencing the bamboo industry in the region through SWOT and PESTLE analyses. Based on a focus group discussion involving key industry players, the study explores the industry’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, as well as political, economic, social, technological, legal, and environmental factors. Findings reveal the importance of comprehensive strategies that address political stability, economic growth, consumer awareness, technological advancement, legal compliance, and environmental sustainability. Recommendations include capacity-building for production and marketing, the establishment of bamboo treatment facilities, and advocacy for supportive policies. By addressing these factors, the bamboo industry in Central Luzon can realize its potential for socio-economic development and environmental stewardship.展开更多
The comprehensive improvement strategy of intra-county environment pollution in the city and countryside was searched.By the research method which combined the microscopic view,the macroscopic view with the dynamic pe...The comprehensive improvement strategy of intra-county environment pollution in the city and countryside was searched.By the research method which combined the microscopic view,the macroscopic view with the dynamic perspective,the seriousness of rural water quality,soil and atmospheric pollution in Xiangxiang,Xiangtan and the surrounding areas in Shaoshan irrigated area was revealed.The control measure which was 'four-dimensional pollution in the city and countryside'—— low-carbon-high-value agriculture and the technology innovation was proposed.The low-carbon-high-value technology innovation industrialization demonstration in three parts which included the pre-production,mid-production and post-production deep-processing of cultivation and breeding industry in the ecological cyclic agricultural garden in Shaoshan irrigated area was the driving force.We tried to propel the low-carbon ecological cultivation and breeding industry which included the paddy rice,grass,tree,medicinal herbs and pig,cow,chick,duck,fish.We wanted to relieve the structural unbalance of previous cultivation and breeding industry,'cheap grain hurting the farmers' and the short-leg problem of social-economic-ecological benefit.The results showed that the low-carbon-high-value agricultural system was a poly-generation technology system which promoted the multi-level and grading utilization,saved the energy,reduced the consumption and cleaned the production based on the ecology.展开更多

This research uses qualitative methods. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and literature studies. The research subject is the teacher and focus of the research is what of availability in the school system that enables teacher to have the opportunities to educate student about values of environmental caring. Analysis uses data reduction, primary school teachers are taken randomly. Data analysis uses descriptive qualitative analysis. Technical data analysis uses data reduction, verification and conclusion drawing. The results showed that schools have a great opportunity to be utilized for the education of environmental values. These opportunities are: vision and mission of school orientation, school curriculum, extracurricular activities, educational interactions, commemoration of holidays, rewards and punishments, conventions, school physical environment, rules and norms, school slogans. It is suggested that schools in this case (school principals) socialize these opportunities and utilize the opportunities available in schools effectively and efficiently used for environmental value education.展开更多
The environment in the sense of all the ecosystems on Earth, has been polluted, harmed, and put at risk of degradation to some extent. Nevertheless, the mainstream ethical philosophies have found it difficult to assig...The environment in the sense of all the ecosystems on Earth, has been polluted, harmed, and put at risk of degradation to some extent. Nevertheless, the mainstream ethical philosophies have found it difficult to assign an intrinsic value to the environment itself, and most environmental ethics is based on an "enlightened" anthropocentrism which values environmental protection for the sake of other humans including the future generations. Philosophically speaking, the concept of moral obligations towards generations, who have not been born yet, can be challenged. This vicious circle is a fundamental issue for "environmental ethics." The current paper is an attempt to help correct this broken cycle of arguments using three lines of argument: (1) The harmful impact of human activity on the environment does not benefit all humans; the question is not over the selfishness and short-sightedness of humankind regarding the environment as much as it is regarding "environmental" justice among humans. The pursuit of self-interest and wealth by some humans, but not all, should not lead philosophers to ignore the insufficiencies of our economic and capitalist systems in the delineation of morally correct human-environment interaction. The right to a livable environment is a universal human right and morality has to support it. (2) The moral obligation of humankind toward the environment is similar to any situation where a party, such as a child, does not have the ability to protect itself or defend its rights; this is the principle of "due care." Humans have the knowledge to understand the complexity of ecosystem interrelationships and the harm which industrial activity has caused. Therefore they have a moral obligation to exercise due care to prevent it from being harmed irreversibly. (3) The third argument is concerned with human morality and the spirituality of the environment. It can be argued that the natural instinct of the love of the environment, biophilia, is not a cause but a symptom of the grand spiritual value in the environment, even though this spiritual value may not be confined to humans, but be accrued to all life forms that have and/or show a genuine interest in the environment.展开更多

To improve China's residential environment evaluation system and enhance its guiding role, current research results are analyzed and summarized from three aspects including research scales, evaluation methods and app...To improve China's residential environment evaluation system and enhance its guiding role, current research results are analyzed and summarized from three aspects including research scales, evaluation methods and applied technology by means of comparison, induction and empirical application. The guiding role of the current macro-scale evaluation system of urban planning and construction is generally not obvious, whereas the guiding role of medium and micro-scale systems to the improvement of residential environments is improving. There are diversified methods for determining the threshold values and the weights of indices in China's evaluation system. For instance, the analytic hierarchy process(AHP) method is adopted to determine the weights of indices. The advantages and disadvantages of the method are analyzed on the basis of empirical calculation. In the course of comprehensive analyses, a nonlinear model can reflect interactions among indices more than a linear model; the evaluation model under the ARCGIS platform prevails since it combines space and attribute, and it has intuitive results. So far, the methodological system of China's residential environment evaluation has not been established; its subject coverage and research category should be expanded, and its guiding role should be enhanced.展开更多

The important roles played by green spaces are social, economic, cultural and environmental aspects of sustainable development. Urban green spaces can be a comprehensive tool for long term protection of environmental sustainability through improving the quality of life and air quality, increasing property value due to their amenity and aesthetic characteristics, and reducing the energy costs of cooling buildings. Urban green spaces also can provide ecosystem services in which the recreation and relaxation facilities are especially available to urban dwellers and tourists too. To confirm the multiple roles played by green spaces, certain level of qualitative improvements and distribution of green spaces within the urban area should be considered and incorporated effectively into the environmental sustainability agenda. To do this, an integrated approach regarding the planning, monitoring, designing and maintaining of urban green spaces is required for improving the environmental sustainability in cities in different countries.展开更多

China is actively upgrading its industrial structure through industries transferring between developed and undeveloped areas;however,the overall level of the national value chain is still not high,and the asymmetric c...China is actively upgrading its industrial structure through industries transferring between developed and undeveloped areas;however,the overall level of the national value chain is still not high,and the asymmetric competition pattern between the upstream and the downstream has not been broken.Therefore,this paper establishes a competitive equilibrium model for the production of manufacturing enterprises,with factor price distortion,under the condition of constant returns to scale.The authors derive the relative distortion coefficients of each factor price,calculate the misallocation indices of capital and labor,and construct an industry resource misallocation measure.Furthermore,this paper applies the regional value-added decomposition model to calculate the national value chain index and matches the market index of the China Market Index Database with the Chinese Industrial Enterprises Database and the Inter-Regional Input-Output Tables through quantitative analysis.From the perspective of the national value chain,the authors study the improvement effect and mechanism of the business environment on the resource allocation in industry.The study shows that industry resource allocation will be improved by 17.89%if the business environment level is improved by one standard deviation.This effect is most prevalent in the eastern and central regions,not so much in the west;the effect of downstream industries in the national value chain is higher than that of upstream industries;the improvement effect on capital allocation is higher in downstream industries than in the upstream industries;and the improvement effect on labor misallocation is basically the same in both the upstream and the downstream.Compared with labor intensive industries,capital intensive industries are more influenced by the national value chain,while the effect of upstream industries is weaker.At the same time,it is well documented that participation in the global value chain can improve the efficiency of regional resource allocation,and the construction of high-tech zones can improve resource allocation for both upstream and downstream industries.Based on the results of study,the authors propose suggestions for optimizing business environments,suiting the national value chain construction,and improving resource allocation in the future.展开更多

文摘China is actively upgrading its industrial structure through industries transferring between developed and undeveloped areas;however,the overall level of the national value chain is still not high,and the asymmetric competition pattern between the upstream and the downstream has not been broken.Therefore,this paper establishes a competitive equilibrium model for the production of manufacturing enterprises,with factor price distortion,under the condition of constant returns to scale.The authors derive the relative distortion coefficients of each factor price,calculate the misallocation indices of capital and labor,and construct an industry resource misallocation measure.Furthermore,this paper applies the regional value-added decomposition model to calculate the national value chain index and matches the market index of the China Market Index Database with the Chinese Industrial Enterprises Database and the Inter-Regional Input-Output Tables through quantitative analysis.From the perspective of the national value chain,the authors study the improvement effect and mechanism of the business environment on the resource allocation in industry.The study shows that industry resource allocation will be improved by 17.89%if the business environment level is improved by one standard deviation.This effect is most prevalent in the eastern and central regions,not so much in the west;the effect of downstream industries in the national value chain is higher than that of upstream industries;the improvement effect on capital allocation is higher in downstream industries than in the upstream industries;and the improvement effect on labor misallocation is basically the same in both the upstream and the downstream.Compared with labor intensive industries,capital intensive industries are more influenced by the national value chain,while the effect of upstream industries is weaker.At the same time,it is well documented that participation in the global value chain can improve the efficiency of regional resource allocation,and the construction of high-tech zones can improve resource allocation for both upstream and downstream industries.Based on the results of study,the authors propose suggestions for optimizing business environments,suiting the national value chain construction,and improving resource allocation in the future.
