Study on the Emotions Conveyed by the Moon Image in Classical Poetry

Image is an abnormal description of a word or phrase used to create artistic conception in classical poem writing.This paper focuses on the literal meaning of image and symbolic meaning of the moon by analyzing typical moon-chanting poems of Li Bai,to illustrate the role of image in ancient poetry writing.

A Tentative Study of Translation Evaluation System of Chinese Classical Poetry Form: From the Perspective of Functional Linguistics

Chinese classical poetry is the special form of literature. The translated texts of various qualities hinder the foreign read-ers from appreciating of CCP and even from correctly understanding of the Chinese unique culture, which presents obstacles to thetransmission of Chinese great culture. Tentatively establishing an evaluation system of CCP from the perspective of functional lin-guistics,based on three meta-functions proposed by Halliday, by applying the translation evaluation system, the quality of six trans-lated versions of 清明, a poem by Du Mu are assessed. By this case study, it is intended to prove the feasibility and practicability ofthis translation evaluation system, and then provide the suggestions on bettering the translated versions.

Implementation of Values Education based on the Cultural Essence of Ancient Poems and Classics

During COVID-19,the entire human race is facing a major change that is rare in this century.The intricate competition between countries and the ever-changing situation at home and abroad have put forward new propositions for education in schools.As the collection of human wisdom for thousands of years,the classics of poetry and prose carry the endless spiritual strength of the Chinese nation,the spiritual support for the healthy growth of young people,and the cultural essence of morals and values education.Using ancient poems and classics as the breakthrough point,excavating cultural essence,reciting texts,interpreting meanings,and practicing them enhance students?humanistic quality and cultural selfconfidence in addition to cultivating future talents with deep Chinese roots and broad modem vision.

SA-Model:Multi-Feature Fusion Poetic Sentiment Analysis Based on a Hybrid Word Vector Model

Sentiment analysis in Chinese classical poetry has become a prominent topic in historical and cultural tracing,ancient literature research,etc.However,the existing research on sentiment analysis is relatively small.It does not effectively solve the problems such as the weak feature extraction ability of poetry text,which leads to the low performance of the model on sentiment analysis for Chinese classical poetry.In this research,we offer the SA-Model,a poetic sentiment analysis model.SA-Model firstly extracts text vector information and fuses it through Bidirectional encoder representation from transformers-Whole word masking-extension(BERT-wwmext)and Enhanced representation through knowledge integration(ERNIE)to enrich text vector information;Secondly,it incorporates numerous encoders to remove text features at multiple levels,thereby increasing text feature information,improving text semantics accuracy,and enhancing the model’s learning and generalization capabilities;finally,multi-feature fusion poetry sentiment analysis model is constructed.The feasibility and accuracy of the model are validated through the ancient poetry sentiment corpus.Compared with other baseline models,the experimental findings indicate that SA-Model may increase the accuracy of text semantics and hence improve the capability of poetry sentiment analysis.

A Comparative Study of Two English Versions of Jiang Xue Based on Functional Equivalence Theory

Chinese ancient poetry is artistically beautified with extraordinarily subtle artistic images, conceptions and rhythms.How well the translator knows and understands the linguistic and cultural differences between Chinese and English and the source poem in terms of its author, writing background and intended artistic conceptions, and what translating strategies the translator adopts will have a great impact on the translated version. Based on Nida's "functional equivalence" theory as the theoretical basis of the study, two different English versions of five-character jueju"Jiang Xue were chosen as the research objects, and studied from two perspectives, namely romantic charm including artistic images and conceptions and artistic form including language employed and rhythms to examine whether the two English versions have reproduced the source poem as it was. It was pointed out in the paper that achieving the functional equivalence between the source language poem and the translated version in terms of artistic images, language style and rhythm allows the possibility of the target language reader comprehending the translated version to the point that they can conceive of how the source language reader must have understood and appreciated the source poem.

The Creation of a“Magnificent Literary Style”:Stylistic Innovation in Borrowings in Han Rhapsodies from The Classic of Poetry

The emergence of the practice of quoting The Classic of Poetry(Shijing)is the result of a separation in the ethical function of rites and music.At first,quoting the Poetry is a means to correct people’s pronunciations,but gradually its function changes from the rectification of sound to the rectification of social norms,and by the time of the Warring States period,Qin dynasty,and Han dynasty,the expression"the Poetry says''(Shiyue)has become an emblem of social values through which the writer justifies his own arguments.But although more than 400 cases of such use of the Poetry can be found in Han rhapsodies(Fu),none of the rhapsody-titled works contain expressions such as“the Poetry says•”On the one hand,this results from the sound and rhythmical requirements of chanting the rhapsody.On the other,this shows the gradual reawakening of the writers’self-consciousness in a period when old political and social orders are restored.This stylistic change releases the creative energy of the literary language that helps reconstruct the artistic conception of rhapsodies and stimulates the emergence and flourishing of new literary genres such as five-syllable-line poetry(Wuyanshi),seven-syllable-line poetry(Qiyanshi),parallel prose(Piantiwen),and Chu-style prose(Saotiwen).

A Study on the Translation Aesthetics in Cathay based on Pound's Translation Theory of Recreation

This article expounds on Ezra Pound's translation anthology,Cathay by elaborating how he recreated classic Chinese poetry in modem English with his own translation aesthetics and theory.As both translation practice and recreation,Cathay exerts profound impact on global literatures and translations,conveying enlightenment to cultural exchanges between different civilizations.Based on Pound's translation theory,this article intends to unfold the aesthetics in Cathay including the beauty of exotic oriental culture,emotions that travels across time and space,and concise imagery through his recreation of connotations,themes,and text forms.Distinguishing from the precedents,Pound has made breakthroughs in the translation process,form,and criteria,valuing the translator's subjectivity.Nowadays,as overseas Chinese learners are increasingly keen in the Chinese culture,Pound's re-conceptualization of translation and cultural understanding can serve as rich references to cross-cultural exchanges and mutual learnings.
