Based on the features of marine environmental data and processing requirements, a cloud computing archi- tecture of marine environment information is proposed, which provides a new cloud technology framework for the integration and sharing of marine environmental information resources. A physical layer, software platform layer and an application layer are illustrated systematically, at the same time, a corresponding solu- tions for many difficult technical problems such as parallel query processing of multi-dimensional, spatio- temporal information, data slice storage, software service flow customization, analysis, reorganization and so on. A prototype system is developed and many different data-size experiments and a comparative analy- sis are done based on it. The experiment results show that the cloud platform based on this framework can achieve high performance and scalability when dealing with large-scale marine data. 展开更多

Particularly, attention is given to basic concept of CC (cloud computing) service models and opportunities in logistics. This paper provides comprehensive review and comparison of different ICT solutions and CC applications. As a new and cutting-edge technology, CC is changing the form and function of information technology infrastructures making supply chain information collaboration easy and feasible. It can also be an enabler of fully electronic logistics management systems. This paper analyzes the characteristics of the spatial information of cloud services, such as data access transparency, spatial analysis parallelization, service capabilities flexible, information services standardization, service aggregation visualization, re-development flexible. This paper provides a possible solution to overcome the LBS service issues. In this paper, the short review of LBS and Cloud computing are given first and then the possibility of LBS design with cloud computing are analyzed. Nowadays,cloud computing has been identified as new opportunities for migrating to the expected agility,reuse,and adaptive capabilities that can support the ever changing IT trends and requirements.Unfortunately,the rapid evolution of those technologies also comes with open issues such as security,privacy,integrity,quality of services,and their possible detrimental consequences.In this work,the concept of insurance is introduced to compensate the cloud computing customers when encountering those failures if service providers(SPs)have insurance purchased.Particularly,we consider the situation when the insurer is unable to see the system failure risk levels of the SPs,which is usually seen as an incomplete information market,in contrast with the optimal situation in a complete information market.First,an insurance-based cloud computing architecture is proposed to build a monetary credit system in which the cloud computing SP pays a premium for a certain coverage to the insurer.Subsequently,problem is formulated to solve the optimal insurance plan in complete and incomplete information markets,together with detail analysis of insurance policies in both cases are provided.Furthermore,simulation results show the properties of the two insurance plans and parameters that affect the design of the insurance plan. 展开更多

In many IIoT architectures,various devices connect to the edge cloud via gateway systems.For data processing,numerous data are delivered to the edge cloud.Delivering data to an appropriate edge cloud is critical to improve IIoT service efficiency.There are two types of costs for this kind of IoT network:a communication cost and a computing cost.For service efficiency,the communication cost of data transmission should be minimized,and the computing cost in the edge cloud should be also minimized.Therefore,in this paper,the communication cost for data transmission is defined as the delay factor,and the computing cost in the edge cloud is defined as the waiting time of the computing intensity.The proposed method selects an edge cloud that minimizes the total cost of the communication and computing costs.That is,a device chooses a routing path to the selected edge cloud based on the costs.The proposed method controls the data flows in a mesh-structured network and appropriately distributes the data processing load.The performance of the proposed method is validated through extensive computer simulation.When the transition probability from good to bad is 0.3 and the transition probability from bad to good is 0.7 in wireless and edge cloud states,the proposed method reduced both the average delay and the service pause counts to about 25%of the existing method. 展开更多

Redundancy elimination techniques are extensively investigated to reduce storage overheads for cloud-assisted health systems.Deduplication eliminates the redundancy of duplicate blocks by storing one physical instance referenced by multiple duplicates.Delta compression is usually regarded as a complementary technique to deduplication to further remove the redundancy of similar blocks,but our observations indicate that this is disobedient when data have sparse duplicate blocks.In addition,there are many overlapped deltas in the resemblance detection process of post-deduplication delta compression,which hinders the efficiency of delta compression and the index phase of resemblance detection inquires abundant non-similar blocks,resulting in inefficient system throughput.Therefore,a multi-feature-based redundancy elimination scheme,called MFRE,is proposed to solve these problems.The similarity feature and temporal locality feature are excavated to assist redundancy elimination where the similarity feature well expresses the duplicate attribute.Then,similarity-based dynamic post-deduplication delta compression and temporal locality-based dynamic delta compression discover more similar base blocks to minimise overlapped deltas and improve compression ratios.Moreover,the clustering method based on block-relationship and the feature index strategy based on bloom filters reduce IO overheads and improve system throughput.Experiments demonstrate that the proposed method,compared to the state-of-the-art method,improves the compression ratio and system throughput by 9.68%and 50%,respectively. 展开更多

In recent years,the use of mobile devices such as smart phones,tablet PCs,etc.is rapidly increasing.In case of these mobile devices,the storage space is limited due to their characteristics.To make up for the limited space of storage in mobile devices,several methods are being researched.Of these,cloud storage service(CSS),one of cloud computing services,is an efficient solution to compensate such limited storage space.CSS is a service of storing files to the storage and thus getting access to stored files through networks(Internet)at anytime,anywhere.As for the existing CSS,users store their personally important files in the cloud storage,not in their own computers.It may cause security problems such as the leaking of information from private files or the damaging to the information.Thus,we propose a cloud storage system which can solve the security problem of CSS for mobile devices using the personal computer.Our system is deigned to store and manage files through the direct communication between mobile devices and personal computer storages by using the software as a service(SaaS),one of computing services,instead of directly storing files into cloud storages. 展开更多

The new technologies such as virtualisation, consolidation, cloud computing, and software-based solutions are great ways to minimise resource use while maximising the business value of information systems. Technologies and innovations are necessary to ride the inevitable tide of change. Most of enterprises are striving to reduce their computing costs through the means of virtualization. This demand of reducing the computing cost has led to the innovation of cloud computing. Cloud technology offers better computing through improved utilization and reduced administration and infrastructure costs. Cloud computing is the sum of Software as a Service (SaaS) and utility computing. Cloud computing represents a fundamental change in the way computing power is generated and distributed, transforming the delivery of IT tools and products into elastic, on demand services characterized by flexible "pay as you go" payment models. More than half of European Union (EU) businesses and consumers already use some kind of cloud services. The diffusion of cloud computing is expected to generate substantial direct and indirect impacts on economic and employment growth in the EU, thanks to the migration to a new IT paradigm enabling greater innovation and productivity. The cost of using digital technologies, such as information service providers, decreases as the number of users increases.
