Aiming at the random choosing for cluster head of traditional Leach protocol, and the defect of the single hop from all the cluster heads to the sink node, an improved method for Leave protocol is advanced. Firstly, the election model of cluster head is improved, and the node residual energy is considered in the process of threshold and the cluster head election to improve the whole network life circle. In the multi-hop route, choosing the maximum energy and the nearest node as the next hop and a route transferring data among many clusters is formed. The experiment shows the method having great improvement compared with Leach protocol and prolonging the network life cycle.展开更多

This paper proposes a new clustering protocol called Mean Territorial Energy Based Clustering Protocol (MTEP) for randomly deployed wireless sensor networks. In MTEP, cluster heads are selected according to residual energy and location information of a node in current round as well as mean territorial energy and total base station distance of node’s corresponding cluster territory in previous round. Energy consumption in conventional protocols becomes unbalanced because of clusters having different lengths. Proposed MTEP protocol addresses this problem by setting thresholds on cluster length and node to cluster head distance for producing equal length clusters. Simulation results show that MTEP protocol extends network lifetime and stability with reduction in energy dissipation compared to other clustering protocols such as LEACH and REAC.展开更多

In this paper, we propose a mechanism to distribute the responsibility of cluster-heads among the wireless sensor nodes in the same cluster based on the ZigBee standard, which is the latest WSN standard. ZigBee supports ad hoc on-demand vector (AODV) and cluster-tree routing protocols in its routing layer. However, none of these protocols considers the energy level of the nodes in the network establishing process or in the data routing process. The cluster-tree routing protocol supports single or multi-cluster networks. However, each single cluster in the multi-cluster network has only one node acting as a cluster head. These cluster-heads are fixed in each cluster during the network lifetime. Consequently, using these cluster-heads will cause them to die quickly, and the entire linked nodes to these cluster-heads will be disconnected from the main network. Therefore, the proposed technique to distribute the role of the cluster head among the wireless sensor nodes in the same cluster is vital to increase the lifetime of the network. Our proposed technique is better in terms of performance than the original structure of these protocols. It has increased the lifetime of the wireless sensor nodes, and increased the lifetime of the WSN by around 50% of the original network lifetime.展开更多

They are used in different contexts such as collaborative, medical, military or embedded applications. However, MANETs raise new challenges when they are used in large scale network that contain a large number of nodes. Subsequently, many clustering algorithms have emerged. In fact, these clustering algorithms allow the structuring of the network into groups of entities called clusters creating a hierarchical structure. Each cluster contains a particular node called cluster head elected as cluster head according to a specific metric or a combination of metrics such as identity, degree, mobility, weight, density, etc. MANETs has drawbacks due to both the characteristics of the transmission medium (transmission medium sharing, low bandwidth, etc.) and the routing protocols (information diffusion, path finding, etc.). 文摘A Light-Weight Simple Network Management Protocol (LW-SNMP) for the wireless sensor network is proposed, which is a kind of hierarchical network management system including a sink manager, cluster proxies, and node agents. Considering the resource limitations on the sensor nodes, we design new management messages, new data types and new management information base completely. The management messages between the cluster proxy and node agents are delivered as normal data packets. The experiment results show that LW-SNMP can meet the management demands in the resource-limited wireless sensor networks and has a good performance in stability, effectiveness of memory, extensibility than the traditional Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).
文摘In order to solve the uneven node load in the tradition clustering routing protocols, a new clustering algorism based on SOM is proposed. Firstly, the network radio model and the energy consumption model are defined. A new algorism using SOM to form the cluster and select the cluster head is defined. In the clustering node remain energy and the Euclidean distance from cluster head to the cluster member are considered. The experiment shows our method has the longer life cycle and less total energy consumption. It is an effective clustering protocol.
