This paper explores the role of guiding students to participate in skills competitions on the development of young teachers in vocational colleges.We investigate the impact of skills competitions on the consolidation of professional knowledge,development of innovation capabilities,improvement of hands-on abilities,and enhancement of communication skills with students.The results of this research demonstrate that skills competitions have a positive influence on the professional growth of young teachers.The consolidation of professional knowledge,development of innovation capabilities,improvement of hands-on abilities,and enhancement of communication skills collectively contribute to the effectiveness of young teachers in vocational colleges.It is recommended that vocational colleges prioritize and support the participation of young teachers in skills competitions to foster their professional development. 展开更多

The concept of New Liberal Arts,a multidisciplinary combined integrator with Chinese values at its core,has brought new challenges to the teaching methods and professional development of higher-level English teachers.Based on the evolving professional development process of higher vocational English teachers in the context of the New Liberal Arts,this article analyzes how English teachers can integrate multidisciplinary knowledge and adopt advanced educational technology in the teaching process.On this basis,it discusses the role of teachers’professional development in enhancing students’learning ability,such as through deepening disciplinary understanding,adopting innovative teaching strategies,and implementing personalized teaching.At the end of the article,based on a variety of pedagogical theories,we put forward suggestions,including continuous professional training,interdisciplinary cooperation,and the application of innovative teaching techniques,which are mainly aimed at helping higher vocational English teachers get rid of the dilemma of the new situation,adapt to the needs of the new liberal arts education as soon as possible,and then effectively improve students’abilities. 展开更多

Under the online teaching model,the evaluation literacy of college English teachers has become one of the critical factors affecting students’learning effects[1].This study uses a self-compiled questionnaire to investigate the current status of evaluation literacy of college English teachers under the online teaching model from four aspects:evaluation awareness,evaluation knowledge,evaluation ability,and evaluation ethics.The results show that college English teachers’overall evaluation literacy level is relatively high,but there are areas for improvement.Based on the survey results,suggestions are put forward to improve teachers’evaluation literacy,such as changing teaching concepts and increasing self-reflection;strengthening training and learning to enhance professional development awareness;conducting cooperative research and emphasizing team strengths. 展开更多

Based on this situation,some investigations were conducted on the topic of TA among 5 vocational colleges in Kunming, Yunnan Province. This study adopts the grounded theory approach to critically examine the essence and implementation of Ideological and Political Education(IPE)within college English curricula at Chinese Universities.We analyzed a corpus of 80 award-winning lesson plans from the“Teaching Star Competition”held by the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press to establish specific constituents that comprise IPE and identify the instructional methodologies incorporated in the teaching process.The research shows that IPE strategically merges language proficiency training with civic education,aiming to cultivate a strong national identity,solid cultural pride,and global competencies.To be more detailed,the core categories of IPE encapsulate critical thinking,professional ethics,and cross-cultural communication skills,which are based on the innovative use of technological resources and adaptive pedagogical strategies.IPE has also elaborated on the comprehensive assessment mechanisms to measure cognitive and affective outcomes,making it a multidimensional activity.Following a three-stage coding process,this study aims to contribute to this discussion regarding ideological and political education integrated into Chinese higher education institutions.The finding and conclusion in this study drawn for future curriculum developments and reformulation of educational policy suggest ways IPE could better serve in fostering well-rounded individuals capable of contributing to national and global contexts. 展开更多
