Vocational Identity and Agency of Chinese College Students: Effects of Filial Piety and Implications in Career Education

Balancing family obligations and personal aspirations is crucial for college students in making life decisions.This critical review examined empirical studies on the effects of filial piety on college students’vocational identity and agency.According to identity capital theory,college students need a sense of agency to construct identity consciously and adapt to adulthood.Filial piety may profoundly influence this process as the core value and internalized social structure for the role of being an adult child in a Chinese family.However,no studies have been conducted from the identity capital perspective.This review found that filial piety had direct effects on college students'vocational identity and also indirect effects by shaping specific agency competencies.The impact of filial piety on the agency was more likely to occur through providing normative guidance about adult roles,influencing how college students view family as a supportive resource,and perpetuating parenting experiences.Based on these findings,this article suggested further examining the mediating role of agency between filial piety and identity development,as well as the effects of filial piety on the psychological foundation of agency development.This review suggested enhancing the agency of college students and encouraging reflections on filial piety in career education. 展开更多

Objectives:The present study examined the relationship between college students’moral elevation and prosocial behavior.As well as the mediating role of perceived social support and the moderating role of moral identity.Methods:A sample of 489 college students were recruited for the study.They were asked to complete a series of questionnaires,including Moral Elevation Scale(MES),Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS),Moral Identity Scale(MIS)and Prosocial Tendency Measure(PTM).As part of the data analysis,we used correlation analysis and the method of constructing latent variable structural equation model to explore the mechanism of action among variables.Results:After controlling for gender,discipline,the research found that:(1)Moral elevation positively predicted the prosocial behavior among the college students;(2)Perceived social support mediated the relationship between moral elevation and prosocial behavior;(3)Moral identity moderated the second half of the model(i.e.,the link between perceived social support and prosocial behavior).Specifically,the mediating effect of perceived social support was stronger for college students with high-level moral identity compared to those with low-level moral identity.Conclusions:Moral identity significantly moderates the mediating effect of perceived social support,and the mediating model with moderated is established. 展开更多

The integration and penetration of disciplines is the driving force for innovation.This paper investigates the national music identity of students in three universities in the Western Part of GuangDong Province by questionnaires and interviews,and obtains a series of data related to contemporary university and college students’music literacy.Data and phenomena indicate:University and students have“high degree of identity”and“low participation consciousness”for national music.They are willing to be onlookers,and they are reluctant to join the inheritance and in-depth study,lacking opinions on music appreciation and performance learning;the contact with music only stays at the level of recreation.The artistic and functional nature of music has not played a role in the development of college students’own disciplines;from the choice of music,they can be seen that they have a negative and confused mentality in their academic and social activities,but they can still be released in music,so they adhere to the undisturbed appreciation environment.The campus music popularization education should be strengthened and guided,and appropriate music quality courses should be added to the above phenomena,and experts should be organized to integrate the national music representing the“hometown music”to lay the foundation for the future outstanding talent training. 展开更多

专业认同水平关系到大学生能力发展、专业发展乃至高等教育事业的发展,探究大学生专业认同的影响因素对提高专业认同具有重要意义,然而既有研究结论并不统一,为此,本研究对30项实证研究进行元分析。结果表明,影响大学生专业认同的因素包... 专业认同水平关系到大学生能力发展、专业发展乃至高等教育事业的发展,探究大学生专业认同的影响因素对提高专业认同具有重要意义,然而既有研究结论并不统一,为此,本研究对30项实证研究进行元分析。结果表明,影响大学生专业认同的因素包括13个:个人特质、学习兴趣、学习动机、学习效能、专业价值观(统称为微观因素),教师指导、重要他人、课程设置、科研活动、学校环境(统称为中观因素),专业培养定位、社会认可度、专业前景(统称为宏观因素),均正向显著影响专业认同。其中,宏观因素对专业认同的影响最大,微观因素的影响次之,均有高度影响,中观因素的影响最小,有中等影响。与此同时,各因素对专业认同的影响还受学生类型、专业类别、学校所在地区的调节。最后,结合元分析结果,为提高大学生专业认同提出针对性建议。 展开更多

就业能力对高校毕业生慢就业选择的影响

近年来,越来越多的高校毕业生打破以往“毕业即就业”惯例,选择加入慢就业这一新群体之中。梳理相关文献发现,社会各界对高校毕业生的慢就业选择褒贬不一,这与慢就业中包含了主动、被动两类群体密切相关。以就业能力这一兼具主客观要素... 近年来,越来越多的高校毕业生打破以往“毕业即就业”惯例,选择加入慢就业这一新群体之中。梳理相关文献发现,社会各界对高校毕业生的慢就业选择褒贬不一,这与慢就业中包含了主动、被动两类群体密切相关。以就业能力这一兼具主客观要素的复合因素为切入点,采用logit等实证方法来分析慢就业选择背后的深层次成因及其微观作用机制。研究发现,就业能力是影响高校毕业生慢就业选择的关键因素,就业能力越高,选择主动慢就业的概率越大,反之亦然;在作用机制上,就业能力在家庭背景、专业认同与慢就业选择倾向中发挥了部分中介作用,且家庭背景、专业认同在塑造就业能力过程中可能扮演了相得益彰的“互补效应”;在进一步讨论中,发现就业能力亦是区分已就业与被动慢就业两类群体的重要标尺,与已就业群体相比,选择被动慢就业的毕业生就业能力明显缺乏,特别是数智时代所需的职业适应力、创新力与学习力等必备技能。研究分别从毕业生个人、高校以及家庭等视角提出相应的对策建议。 展开更多
