Study Weariness of Vocational College Students and Reform of the Teaching Mode in Nursing Basic Technology Course

Objective: As part of an investigation and analysis of the study weariness of nursing vocational college students, the authors attempted to reform the teaching mode of a Nursing Basic Technolo-gy course to solve the problem of study weariness in vocational college students. Methods: The authors designed student questionnaires to investigate study weariness in 128 nurs-ing vocational college students. Results: Of the 128 students, 58 were tired of study, accounting for 45. 3%; 40 students often had weariness, accounting for 31. 3%; and 71 students had moderate or severe weariness, accounting for 55. 5%. Seventy-five students played on their mobile phone when they were tired of studying. Conclusions: The study weariness of vocational college students is a common phenomenon that has been developing rapidly. There are many factors that cause study weariness of professional college students. The students believe that the traditional teaching method is the main reason for study weariness. Reform of the teaching mode in a Nursing Basic Technology course effectively solved the learning problems of vocational college students. Teaching experiments for reform may have marked effects, and they are worthy of promoting.

The Analysis of the Attrition of College Students in Mobile Assisted Language Learning: A Case Study Based on UTAUT Model

Mobile devices are playing indispensable roles in college students’lives and more and more college students adopt MALL(mobile assisted language learning).However,the student attrition in MALL is rather high compared with traditional classroom learning.This study introduced qualitative method based on UTAUT model,and tried to explain the student attrition in MALL and how to engage college students deeper in MALL.

A Qualitative Study on College Students' Motivation of English Learning

Over the decades, English learning motivation has drawn much attention. The present case study aims to explore college students' motivation of English Learning. Based on SDT, the present study was conducted qualitatively. The researcher interviewed three non-English major students. This study found five types of motivation of English Learning. Besides, a person may have multiple motivations at the same time.

Group Investigation in a College English Program at a Chinese University:A Case Study

This study investigated the application and the effect of Group Investigation(GI) in the College English Program in a Chinese University. A qualitative case study method was used to understand the GI system used by Chinese instructors as well as the achievements acquired and challenges met by the participants. Three instructors and fifteen second-year-undergraduates taking a course titled Sources of European Culture participated. Interviews, observations, and documents were used to collect the data. Data analysis showed Chinese instructors applied a GI technique similar to that discussed by Johnson and Johnson(1999); however, GI in the Chinese context demanded more effort from the teacher for designing tasks and provided help in modeling uses of English and in preparing visual, especially Power Point, presentations. Although participants used their mother tongue at some stages, their autonomy over English learning was activated, and horizons in the course content were broadened.

An Experimental Study of CIRC in English Classroom in Vocational Colleges

CIRC is short for Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition.It is to help improve students' English proficiency by integrating writing into reading.In order to verify the results of the method,the author made an experimental study in Nanning College for Vocational Technology.She designed a small teaching cycle of "7 phases with 12 steps"and applied CIRC in her English class.One of the results is that CIRC can improve students'academic achievements.

Prevalence of dysmenorrhea in female students in a Chinese university: a prospective study

This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of dysmenorrhea in a prospective approach. Menstruation-related diary data were obtained from 2640 female college students in North Sichuan Medical College;dysmenorrhea and related factors were analyzed. Dysmenorrhea occurred in 56.4% of students;6.5% of dysmenorrheal students suffered from “hard to bear” (unbearable) menstrual pain, and 6.5% had pre-menstrual dysmenorrhea. The more severe dysmenorrhea was, the longer dysmenorrhea lasted, and the longer the duration of menstruation and the larger the amount of menstrual blood flow appeared to be. Dysmenorrhea occurred on 37% of the menstrual dates on average and was unrelated to irregularity of menstrual cycles. The percentages of students taking medicine with mild, moderate and unbearable dysmenorrhea were 4.0%, 13.3% and 23.7%, respectively.

Investigating the Use of Strategic Reading Activities in College English Class: A Case Study

This paper,by adopting a qualitative research method,investigated the use of strategic reading activities by two female teachers in College English classes.Results showed that their commonly-used strategic reading activities in college English classes reflected three types of reading comprehension strategies including use of prior knowledge,use of text elements with a high information value,and use of structure-marking elements in the text.Pedagogical implications were also discussed.

Morphology Study and English Vocabulary Teaching in College

An Empirical Research on the Behavior and Influencing Factors of College Students Network Course Learning

＂Using technology to support learning＂ gradually becomes the main trend of technology application and technology-curriculum integration at home and abroad. The empirical research based on newly-established universities shows that college students＇ usage intention on network course and study behavior is not real. Study behavior of network course is passive and outside stimulation. Study and Practice of ＂Harmonious Teaching Method＂ in Art Course Teaching of College Physical Education Taking College Sports Dance Teaching As an Example

The ultimate goal of college personnel training is ＂comprehensively implementing quality-oriented education and cultivating innovation-oriented personnel＂. The application of ＂harmonious teaching method＂ in the sports dance teaching of general colleges can help theoretically analyze the teaching process of existing sports dance actions and reveal the main reason for the gap with the goal of ＂comprehensive harmonious development＂, and also can verify the theoretical analysis results. Therefore, using teaching experiment method, experiment class and control class were selected for implementing two different teaching methods. Difference T test of small samples average was made on the acquired data for revealing the teaching effect difference between two different teaching methods. The result shows that the difference between two teaching methods was significant. The application of ＂harmonious teaching method＂ in the sports dance teaching of physical education of general colleges plays a certain positive role in training the comprehensive and harmonious moral, intellectual and physical developments of college students.

This study delves into the current state and challenges of vocational education through a comparative study of cross-national vocational education and an analysis of the Zhaixing Academy case.The research reveals that vocational education reform can draw on the experiences of the German dual system,American community colleges,and Chinese vocational education reforms,with a focus on informal education pathways,practice-oriented teaching,and flexible training methods.The Zhaixing Academy case demonstrates the application of practice-oriented teaching approaches in the field of vocational education,emphasizing individual student development needs and the advantages of education outside formal institutions,offering new insights and references for the current Chinese education system.The study proposes that governments and education departments should increase investment in vocational education,encourage collaboration between enterprises and vocational education institutions,and support innovative practice-oriented education.In the future,Zhaixing Academy can continue to focus on education reform,expand the realm of practice-oriented education,promote its educational philosophy and methods,and contribute to the diversification and sustainable development of education.

扩大就业视角下造纸专业课程与高职英语教学对接研究

随着国家大力发展职业教育,职业院校学生的就业率与就业质量不断提升,而造纸专业学生就业现状并不乐观。基于此,提出将造纸专业课程与高职英语教学对接,以期实现培养应用型、技能型人才的目标。目前,高职院校的毕业生仍是我国人力资源的重要组成部分,根据教育部统计数据显示,高职院校每年为社会培养了近160万的毕业生。因此,为了缓解我国劳动力市场上的就业压力,在扩大就业视角下研究将造纸专业课程与高职英语教学对接是十分有必要的。造纸专业主要培养具有良好职业道德,专业知识与技能基础,较强的语言表达能力,熟练掌握生产技术操作技能,可从事制浆造纸、包装印刷等工作的高素质技能型专门人才。
