The purpose of this study is to examine the current situation of English writing autonomy and literacy among Chinese college students,to analyze their performance,scale,and distribution as well as influencing factors,and to explore the correlation between English writing autonomy and literacy.This study will provide an in-depth analysis of the current situation of Chinese college students’English writing autonomy and literacy,reveal the scale,distribution,and influencing factors,as well as put forward strategies to enhance them,so as to provide a reference for the reform and development of college English education.

The Implication from Advertisement Discourse for Writing Skills of College Students

Advertising is regarded as a mirror of society because it is a business involving people.Therefore,an analysis of advertising discourse is essential for the explanation of their social functions.The purposes to find out the writing patterns of English advertising discourse,and discover the way for English discourse writing.

An Investigation of Avoidance of Relative Clauses in the English Writings of High Vocational College Students

This study investigates the avoidance of relative clauses by high vocational college students and also explores the differences in the avoidance of the RCs by high-level students and low-level students in their English writings. The data used in this study have been collected from English writing tasks and analyzed by Statistical Package for Social Sciences(SPSS17.0). The major findings of this study are stated as follows: 1) There are significant differences in the production of the relative clauses in their English writings by Chinese higher vocational college students and English native speakers. Avoidance of relative clauses exists in the English writings of higher vocational college students. 2) High-level Chinese higher vocational college students display less of the avoidance phenomenon in their English writings than low-level students.

Strategies for English Oral Skill Improvement Employed by Medical College Students

Research in language learning strategies has addressed the necessity of improving oral skills in second language acquisition.This study attempts to explore the strategies employed by 19 medical students at Qiannan Medical College for Nationalities to improve their oral skills.Semi-structured interview and open-ended questionnaire were used as the instruments for the data collection.The data was then analyzed qualitatively for the purpose of the study.The findings of the study showed that the strategies employed by the students mainly include the strategies to improve speaking skills and the strategies to improve listening skills.The strategies to improve speaking skills include two main categories:fluency-focused strategies and accuracy-focused strategies.The strategies to improve listening skills also include two main categories:direct strategies and indirect strategies.

The Application Study on Genre-based Approach in the English Exposition Writing Teaching for Professional College English Major Students

The previous studies show that the major problems faced by the students in writing can be classified into two categories, that is, they don't know"what to write"and"how to write". The researchers found that the specific problems existing in their writings are identified as poor content, incomplete generic structure and misuse of cohesive devices. Therefore, on the basis of the previous studies, this study attempts to use Martin's genre theory to resolve the existed problems of the Professional College English major's students in writing and enhance students' discourse writing ability. Meanwhile, this study tries to answer the following questions:(1) Compared with the traditional writing teaching methods, whether the genre-based writing method has a significant effect to improve students' writing skills;(2) Whether the genre-based writing method is possible to increase students' interest in writing. The experimental result and the questionnaire show that genre-based approach in ESL writing teaching really can improve students' writing achievement and enhance students' interest in English writing.

A Study of Interlanguage Fossilization in College Students' English writing

English writing is the college students’synthetical application about the knowledge of English.English writing,however,is the weak segment of the college students'English learning all the time.Based on the researches home and abroad,the paper makes an implicational study on interlanguage fossilization in English writing of Chinese college students.Though probing the causes of fossilization in English writing,the paper proposes some measures to reduce the fossilization.In the chapter one,the paper introduces simply the interlanguage fossilization.In the chapter two,the paper analyzes college students English writing and get the causal factors of fossilization:unfavorite learning motivation of students,ineffective feedback to errors,interference of the mother tongue.Then,at the last chapter,the paper put up some measures to overcome and avoid the fossilization in college students'English writing:promoting students'motivation,providing right feedback,avoiding mother tongue interference.

Study on the Promotion Strategy of College Students’ Reading and Writing Ability Under the Micro Network Environment

Network media has become more and more involved in our daily life. It has become a part of modern life that cannot be stopped or rejected. Then, how to correctly face the changes in the Internet era is placed in front of everyone. Students need to “learn how to use the media to get their all-round development, effectively prevent the foreign information pollution, and actively guide students to a truly rational attitude for WeChat, blog and micro-blog”. It is a kind of media literacy being confronted with the network’s ability to consciously resist the harmful information, but also to benefit their own development and firmly grasp the information, so as to make full use of the convenience of network self promotion. “Screen reading” network plays an important role in college students’ life, and the fragmentation, the text features of the writing ability of college students also have a strong impact; this paper focuses on the influence of college students in the network reading and writing patterns on their writing ability and influence. From the perspective of media literacy education for college students, writing ability and reading ability provide a feasible way.

Thoughts and Practices on Cultivating College Students’English Writing Ability

Writing is one of the difficulties in English teaching,and it is a measure of students’mastery of English words,words and sentences.However,students generally find English writing difficult.Therefore,cultivating students’English writing ability is an important topic in current English teaching.There are various ways of cultivating writing ability,which can be summed up as follows:leading students to learn by themselves,cultivating students’ability to apply knowledge comprehensively,improving teachers’classroom language artistry,and emphasizing students’hard work in basic skills.

A Study on English Writing Anxiety of Chinese College Students

The study investigated the relationship between English writing anxiety and English proficiency of Chinese college students. A total of 149 college students participated in the study. Research data was collected through a writing anxiety test and the final course scores of writing classes. In order to address assess writing anxiety, three factors(Negative perception about writing ability, Fear of evaluation, and Avoidance of writing in English) were examined. The results found that Chinese college students were highly apprehensive in the process of English writing, and the Negative perception about the writing ability was a most important and significant component of their writing anxiety. It also found that there was a significant correlation between the writing anxiety and the final English writing score, and it also provided evidence that self- perception about the writing ability had the strongest relationship with the writing performance. Students who are not interested in taking more advanced English writing classes were more anxiety than the participant who were willing to enroll the courses.

The Impact of Internships on the Skill Acquisition Among Nursing Students in Vocational Colleges of Shandong Province

This research investigates the impact of internships on skill acquisition among nursing students in vocational colleges in Shandong Province.By employing a mixed-methods approach involving surveys and interviews,the study re-veals the positive influence of internships on students’clinical competencies,professional qualities,and readiness for the workforce.Survey findings indicate heightened practical capabilities and increased confidence among students.Interviews emphasize the pivotal role of mentors in guiding skills development and professional growth.However,challenges such as resource constraints and workload imbalances during internships are also highlighted.These insights contribute to the en-hancement of nursing education and the preparation of competent nursing professionals in the region.

The Role of Skills Competitions in Improving the Practical Ability of Vocational College Students

Vocational education and general education are two different types of education that are equally important.The orientation of talent training in vocational education is to nurture skilled talents to serve the society.The practical ability of students is both the focus of teaching in vocational colleges and the requirement of enterprise posts.The various types of skills competitions provide a“stage”for students to showcase their abilities.First,this paper explores students’problem-solving ability while preparing for these competitions,expounding the importance of vocational education and skills competitions.Second,this paper summarizes the views of different scholars.Third,based on a specific case,this paper describes the improvement in students’ability while preparing for these competitions.Fourth,this paper analyzes the results of the questionnaire survey conducted to investigate the improvement in students’ability.Lastly,this paper puts forward several suggestions that appeal for vocational colleges to pay more attention to skills competitions.

An Analysis of the Pre-writing Strategies Employed by Chinese College Students in the Timed Examination

This thesis is trying to analyze the pre-writing strategies used by Chinese college students in a timed examination.The purposes of this study is to identify the possible strategies the Chinese college students claimed they used in the pre-writing stage of the timed examination,find if differences exist between the pre-writing strategies employed by skilled writers and unskilled writers,and find which strategy best facilitate writing in a timed condition.

Based on the related theories of Corpus Linguistics and Error Analysis, this paper is aimed to evaluate the effect of selfcorrection through the educational experiment, with non-English major students using web corpus to identify and self-correct their errors as the subjects. Enhancing the Problem-Solving Skills of Vocational Students Through Skills Competition

Unlike general education,vocational education aims to nurture skilled people for various sectors in the society.The development of students’problem analysis and problem-solving skills is crucial.As an important part of the vocational education system,skills competitions are considered a“booster”for improving the quality of teaching in vocational institutions.This paper examines the problem-solving skills of students in preparation for skills competition.First of all,we introduce China’s education policies and conduct a review of early scholars’views,followed by a discussion on the specific problems faced in the design of the entry for skills competition and an exploration of the process of enhancing students’problem-solving skills around these problems;we then propose several suggestions for vocational institutions to enhance their participation in skills competitions.Skills competitions provide a“special stage”for students in vocational institutions to show their abilities.The question of how this“stage”can be utilized to better improve students’abilities is worth exploring in different fields.
