A novel Compressed-Sensing-based(CS-based)Distributed Video Coding(DVC)system,called Distributed Adaptive Compressed Video Sensing(DISACOS),is proposed in this paper.In this system,the input frames are divided into key frames and non-key frames,which are encoded by block CS sampling.The key frames are encoded as CS measurements at substantially higher rates than the non-key frames and decoded by the Smoothed Projected Landweber(SPL)algorithm using multi-hypothesis predictions.For the non-key frames,a small number of CS measurements are first transmitted to detect blocks having low-quality Side Information(SI)generated by the conventional interpolation or extrapolation at the decoder;then,another group of CS measurements are sampled again upon the decoder’s request.To fully utilise the CS measurements,we adaptively allocate these measurements to each block in terms of different edge features.Finally,the residual frame is reconstructed using the SPL algorithm and the decoded non-key frame is simply determined as the sum of the residual frame and the SI.Experimental results have revealed that our CS-based DVC system yields better rate-distortion performance when compared with other schemes. 展开更多

The microstructure of 40Cr steel sample and its surface is ultra-fined through salt-bath cyclic quenching and high frequency hardening, then the superplasticity is studied under isothermal superplastic compressive deformation condition. The experimental results indicate that the stress-strain curves are shown to take place obvious superplastic flow characteristic at the temperature of 750-770℃ and at the initial strain rate of (1.7-5.0)×10-4 s-1. Its strain rate sensitivity is 0.30-0.38, the steady superplastic flow stress is 60-70MPa, the superplastic flow activation energy is 198-217kJ/mol, and it is close to α-Fe grain boundary self-diffusion activation energy. The super-plastic compressive constitute equations of this steel are correspondingly set up. Due to the finer microstructure of high frequency hardening, it appears bigger strain rate sensitivity value, smaller the steady superplastic flow stress and the superplastic flow activation energy, so it has better superplastic deformation capability. 展开更多

High Efficiency Stereo Audio Compression Method Using Polar Coordinate Principle Component Analysis for Wireless Communications

High efficiency audio compression is the basic technology in audio involved multimedia communications. Downmixing and parametric coding is efficient coding scheme with wide applications in some up-to-date audio codecs such as Parametric Stereo (PS) in EAAC+ and MPEG-Surround. Principle Component Analysis (PCA) stereo coding followed this idea to map two channels to one channel with maximum energy and parameterize the secondary channel. This paper investigates the conventional PCA method performance under general stereo model with multiple sound sources and different directions, and then proposes a Polar Coordinate based PCA (PC-PCA) stereo coding method. It has been proved that when multiple sound sources exist with different directions, PC-PCA is better than the conventional PCA method when Mean to Standard deviation Ratio (MSR) is large. A stereo codec based on PC-PCA is proposed to validate the performance improvement of proposed method. Objective and subjective tests show the proposed method achieves a comparative quality and saves 50% parameter bit rate comparing with conventional PCA method, and obtains a 4-8 MUSHRA scores improvement comparing with state-of-the-art stereo codec at the same parameter bit rate. 展开更多

This paper discusses conditions under which the solution of linear system with minimal Schatten-p norm, 0 〈 p ≤ 1, is also the lowest-rank solution of this linear system. To study this problem, an important tool is the restricted isometry constant (RIC). Some papers provided the upper bounds of RIC to guarantee that the nuclear-norm minimization stably recovers a low-rank matrix. For example, Fazel improved the upper bounds to δ4Ar 〈 0.558 and δ3rA 〈 0.4721, respectively. Recently, the upper bounds of RIC can be improved to δ2rA 〈 0.307. In fact, by using some methods, the upper bounds of RIC can be improved to δ2tA 〈 0.4931 and δrA 〈 0.309. In this paper, we focus on the lower bounds of RIC, we show that there exists linear maps A with δ2rA 〉1√2 or δrA 〉 1/3 for which nuclear norm recovery fail on some matrix with rank at most r. These results indicate that there is only a little limited room for improving the upper bounds for δ2rA and δrA.Furthermore, we also discuss the upper bound of restricted isometry constant associated with linear maps A for Schatten p (0 〈 p 〈 1) quasi norm minimization problem. 展开更多

DEM Modeling of Particle Breakage in Silica Sands under One-Dimensional Compression 被引量:9

A Discrete Element Method (DEM) model is developed to study the particle break- age effect on the one-dimensional compression behavior of silica sands. The 'maximum tensile stress' breakage criterion considering multiple contacts is adopted to simulate the crushing of circular particles in the DEM. The model is compared with published experimental results. Com- parison between the compression curves obtained from the numerical and experimental results shows that the proposed method is very effective in studying the compression behavior of silica sands considering particle breakage. The evolution of compression curves at different stress levels is extensively studied using contact force distribution, variation of contact number and particle size distribution curve with loading. It is found that particle breakage has great impact on com- pression behavior of sand, particularly after the yield stress is reached and particle breakage starts. The crushing probability of particles is found to be macroscopically affected by stress level and particle size distribution curve, and microscopically related to the evolutions of contact force and coordination number. Once the soil becomes well-graded and the average coordination number is greater than 4 in two-dimension, the crushing probability of parent particles can reduce by up to 5/6. It is found that the average contact force does not always increase with loading, but increases to a peak value then decreases once the soil becomes more well-graded. It is found through the loading rate sensitivity analysis that the compression behavior of sand samples in the DEM is also affected by the loading rate. Higher yield stresses are obtained at higher loading rates. 展开更多
