It is shown that the equilibrium phases at the adiabatic temperature in the combusion system (1) are not the intended composite Al 2O 3/B 4C but other phases. Good agreement with the experimental data was achieved for the calculated adiabatic temperature. The results were discussed with respect to the elimination of the by product in the combustion synthesis. It also revealed that the reactant mixture (2) is a weak exothermic or endothermic reaction system, which can be employed in the reaction hot pressing.展开更多

Making use of this stove, studies have been made on burning process of bituminous coal briquet, distribution of temperature field in the stove, the regularities of evolution and combustion of volatile matter, the burning rate and edi-ciency of bituminous coal briquet, characteristics of fire-sealing and sulfur-retention. The results show that, with the technique, some achievements can be obtained in combustion of bituminous coal briquet, such as lower pollution that the flue gas black degree is below 0. 5R and dust con-centration is below 90 mg/m3. The stove’s combustion efficiency reaches 90%, sulfur fixing effi-ciency is 60%, and oO concentration is decreased by 40% compared with other traditional stoves. With so many advantages, the stove can be used extensively in civil stoves and smaller industrial boilers.展开更多

An isothermal model test and a combustion test give encouraging results. The temperature and gas composition in the combustion experiments were measured using thermocouples and a COSA6000CD portable stack analyzer. The combustion temperature distribution was uniform. The geometry was compared further to provide stronger recirculation in the spouting zone and a strong swirling effect in the cyclone zone. These results indicate that the improved geometrical configuration of the combustor favors to the stabilization of the coal flame and intensified coal combustion, and it provides a basis for practical application of this technique.展开更多
