Pathfinder-Based Simulation and Optimization of Evacuation of Large Commercial Complexes

Large commercial complexes are large in scale, complex in function, and located in densely populated areas that are prone to casualties due to unfavorable evacuation. To comprehend the safety evacuation of large commercial complex buildings in China, investigate the safety evacuation problems encountered during the evacuation process and the evacuation optimization design strategy, the paper uses Pathfinder to build a simulation model based on literature research and study to simulate the evacuation of personnel in a large commercial complex in Dalian and explore its problems during the evacuation process. The results show that the type of personnel has an effect on the large commercial complex’s evacuation simulation results;the total number of evacuees is non-linearly correlated with the time change curve;some staircases take a long time to evacuate and have a low utilization rate. To improve evacuation efficiency, optimization suggestions for safety exits, evacuation stairs, and evacuation channels are made based on the results.

A Preliminary Study on the Landscape Design of the External Space of Commercial Complexes: Taking Happy Harbor as an Example

With the development of urban construction in China and the improvement of living standards among urban residents,people today have higher requirements for space quality,and the development of urban commercial complexes has also become an important part of urban development.In this process,the functions of urban commercial complexes,in terms of culture,leisure,commerce,tourism,and office work,are gradually compounded.The integration of the commercial complex landscape with the urban environment shapes a place that provides more humanized services to the urban population.The landscape facilities in the commercial complex square are no longer just a foil,but they are constantly improved and optimized for the benefit of the crowd.Beginning from the exterior space of commercial complexes,this study investigates and analyzes the landscape design,and based on the external landscape distribution of Happy Harbor and the environment created by the landscape,this paper expounds the commercial landscape design and development of a more comprehensive and humanized commercial urban complex space landscape.

Research on the Development Status and Strategy of Productive Rooftop Gardens on Commercial Complexes

The introduction of productive gardens on public building roofs is an active way to use urban idle space. It has ecological, economic, and social values and helps alleviate many urban problems caused by the rapid advancement of land urbanization. This paper takes the productive rooftop garden of an urban commercial complex as an example, and assesses its development status based on methods including ArcGIS, field research, and questionnaire interviews, combined with the overall aspects of the country and key case analysis. The results indicate several key aspects of the current status of such gardens in China.(1) As affected by natural and social factors, the current spatial distribution of productive rooftop gardens of commercial complexes in Chinese mainland is uneven, with 84.21% located in the southeast coast and the Sichuan region.(2) The operation and development of this type of productive landscape is in good shape. The number of rooftop gardens has continued to increase since 2013, and the scale is generally greater. Currently, the business model which combines nature education and parent-child amusement experience activities is the most stable.(3) Cases in good operating condition tend to have relatively related characteristics in layouts, traffic functions, landscape elements, and space design.(4) Questionnaire interviews show that citizens are highly willing to participate in rooftop productive landscapes, while operators still experience challenges in policies, funds, and planting knowledge in practice. This paper analyses the existing problems in the development status and strategy of the rooftop productive landscape. It proposes complementary optimization strategies to serve as a reference for the rooftop design of commercial complexes and the utilization of a significant amount of idle space on the roofs.
