Low-Cost Flexible Graphite Monopole Patch Antenna for Wireless Communication Applications

This research investigates a monopole patch antenna for Wi-Fi applications at 2.45 and 5.2 GHz,and WiMax at 3.5 GHz.A low-cost and flexible graphite sheet with good conductivity,base on graphite conductive powder and glue is used to create a radiator patch and ground plane.Instead of commercially available conductive inks or graphite sheets,we use our selfproduced graphite liquid to create the graphite sheet because it is easy to produce and inexpensive.The antenna structure is formed using a low-cost and easy hand-screen printing approach that involved placing graphite liquid on a bendable polyester substrate.This research focuses on designing and developing a low-cost,thin,light,and flexible patch antenna for wireless communication and smart glass applications.The proposed antenna utilizes CST microwave software for simulations to improve the parameters before fabrication and measurement.The simulation and measurement results for the reflection coefficients at 2.45 GHz,3.5 GHz,and 5.20 GHz are reliable and cover the required resonance frequencies,antennas gain are 1.91,1.98,and 1.87 dB,respectively.Additionally,the radiation patterns of both results are omnidirectional.In the experiments,bending the proposed patch antenna along with the cylinder with the radii of 60,40,and 25 mm yielded the same measurement results as the unbent patch antenna.

A survey on semantic communications:Technologies,solutions,applications and challenges

Semantic Communication(SC)has emerged as a novel communication paradigm that provides a receiver with meaningful information extracted from the source to maximize information transmission throughput in wireless networks,beyond the theoretical capacity limit.Despite the extensive research on SC,there is a lack of comprehensive survey on technologies,solutions,applications,and challenges for SC.In this article,the development of SC is first reviewed and its characteristics,architecture,and advantages are summarized.Next,key technologies such as semantic extraction,semantic encoding,and semantic segmentation are discussed and their corresponding solutions in terms of efficiency,robustness,adaptability,and reliability are summarized.Applications of SC to UAV communication,remote image sensing and fusion,intelligent transportation,and healthcare are also presented and their strategies are summarized.Finally,some challenges and future research directions are presented to provide guidance for further research of SC.

RoF Communication Technology and Its Application Prospect

The Radio over Fiber (RoF) communication technology combines the technical advantages of both fiber communication and wireless mobile communication to solve the problems of bandwidth,flexibility and electromagnetic interference.Research of the technology is drawing wide concerns around the world.However,high cost becomes a drawback of this technology at present.In this article the RoF Multi-System Access (RoFMA) scheme is proposed.The scheme makes use of the Optical Time Division Multiplexing (OTDM) and multi-system multiplex/de-multiplex technologies to lower the access cost.The article also predicts good development and market prospect of the RoFMA technology.

A method of multichannel chaotic phase modulation spread spectrum and its application in underwater acoustic communication

Direct-sequence spread spectrum （DSSS） communication possesses low probability of detection and has been widely used in confidential communications. However, pseudo-noise （PN） sequences, used as spreading code in conventional DSSS communications, possess peri- odic character and binary value. In hostile environments, these distinct characters may lead to some important parameters of signals being estimated accurately, and then lead to the leakage of transmitted information. To solve the problem, we propose the chaotic phase modulation （CPM） sequence alternating the PN sequences. CPM sequence has complex values and constant envelope, and also possesses large quantity and good correlation characteristics. Moreover, it has more hidden features than conventional sequences by modulating its phases using chaotic sequence. To improve the data rate, we apply it into the technique of multichannel communica-tion. Simulation results show this scheme＇s superior bit error ratio （BER） performance, which demonstrates its feasibility in underwater acoustic communications.
