In this paper, we design a semantic communications approach based on multi-user semantic fusion for wireless image transmission over DBC. The transmitter extracts semantic features for two users separately and then effectively fuses them for broadcasting by leveraging semantic similarity. Unlike traditional allocation of time, power, or bandwidth, the semantic fusion scheme can dynamically control the weight of the semantic features of the two users to balance their performance. Considering the different channel state information(CSI) of both users over DBC,a DBC-Aware method is developed that embeds the CSI of both users into the joint source-channel coding encoder and fusion module to adapt to the channel.Experimental results show that the proposed system outperforms the traditional broadcasting schemes.展开更多

For this purpose I examine the concept of crisis entrepreneurship from a communication point of view. Using discourse analysis, I analyse the discursive practices of crisis entrepreneurs in the domain of education in the Netherlands. This paper is part of my Ph.D. project in which I examine the dilemmas encountered by crisis entrepreneurs and the interactional solutions they choose in addressing a crisis. In my Ph.D. project I have analysed how crisis entrepreneurs use discursive practices: (1) to show thefactuality of the problem. For example, the way the problem is presented is too theoretical and is not a problem in reality; (2) to present the credibility of the messenger as an authentic, legitimate spokesman. Crisis entrepreneurs may be accused of wanting to attract attention to their own cause; (3) to create the accountability for the problem and the solution. For example, crisis entrepreneurs can be accused of nursing personal grievances or of drawing attention to the issue without actively attempting to solve it. The conclusion is that a communication professional is able to recognize a problem raised by crisis entrepreneurs. Knowledge of interactional dilemmas helps communication professionals understand the potential of crisis entrepreneurs. A communication professional can therefore contribute to the recognition of crises by acknowledging that a crisis entrepreneur is someone who can have a strong hand in the public agenda, i.e., public affairs that are important to the authorities.展开更多

In science communication people, for example, experts or scientists attempt to persuade lay people about the validity of their assessments. Currently dialogue in science communication might be seen as an important way to deliver information about sciences to the public as previously communicating science was conducted through top-down approaches. In addition, currently there is a tendency that people prefer to deliver and to receive information about sciences through two-way communication models between two or more parties, face-to-face or mediated by any means of communication as this way of communication is seen as more interactive. In the context of Indonesia, in terms of social science communication, this is an important phenomenon to investigate as two-way communication models might bridge the gap between expert opinion and lay opinion, where lay opinion is often seen as irrational or emotional. However, there are still a small number of studies with regard to how social sciences are communicated to the public and in what ways people preferred to deliver, moreover to discuss information within social sciences. One of the potential reasons is that research on science communication is mainly focused on natural and physical sciences. Since the study in this paper focuses on dialogic interactions in social science communication, this study will contribute to the current discussions of mass communication, in terms of science communication, and to related fields.展开更多

This paper investigates DTN communications between the Earth and the far side of the Moon, by means of a lunar orbiter acting as relay. After an introductory part, the paper presents a comprehensive analysis of the DTN performance that can be achieved on the identified communication scenario. The focus is on the evaluation of the stateof-the-art ability of Interplanetary Overlay Network(ION), the NASA DTN implementation of Bundle Protocol(BP) and Contact Graph Routing(CGR), to meet the many challenges of the space communication scenario investigated(and more generally of a future interplaynetary Internet): intermittent links, network partitioning, scarce bandwidth, long delays, dynamic routing, handling of high priority and emergency traffic, interoperability issues. A study of security threats and Bundle Security Protocol(BSP) countermeasures complete the work. The many results provided, confirm the essential role of DTN in future space communications.展开更多

Our empirical analysis utilized personal interviews, archive documents, and statistical data. Four main processes were discerned: transition from integration to alienation between institutions of higher learning and the larger political and ideological context; a shift from Hebrew University Institute of Communication's institutional monopoly to a multiplicity of increasingly competitive communication schools/departments; transition from intellectual hegemony to limited intellectual diversity; and gradually improving status for the communication field among social science disciplines. Our case-study analysis validated the interactive relationship among the model's conceptual dimensions, calling for future cross-national comparisons.展开更多

文摘The wearable sensors have recently attracted considerable attentions as communication interfaces through the information perception, decoding, and conveying process. However,it is still challenging to obtain a sensor that can convert detectable signals into multiple outputs for convenient,e cient, cryptic, and high-capacity information transmission.Herein,we present a capacitive sensor of magnetic field based on a tilted flexible micromagnet array(t-FMA)as the proposed interaction interface. With the bidirectional bending capability of t-FMA actuated by magnetic torque, the sensor can recognize both the magnitude and orientation of magnetic field in real time with non-overlapping capacitance signals. The optimized sensor exhibits the high sensitivity of over 1.3 T-1 and detection limit down to 1 mT with excellent durability. As a proof of concept, the sensor has been successfully demonstrated for convenient,e cient, and programmable interaction systems,e.g.,touchless Morse code and Braille communication. The distinguishable recognition of the magnetic field orientation and magnitude further enables the sensor unit as a high-capacity transmitter for cryptic information interaction(e.g.,encoded ID recognition)and multi-control instruction outputting. We believe that the proposed magnetic field sensor can open up a potential avenue for future applications including information communication, virtual reality device, and interactive robotics.
文摘The warm yellow symbolizes China, and cool blue the West.Based on the different geographical and psychological significances, there exists cultural disparity in behavioral patterns between these two color cultures, yet their fusion can lead the world culture to a new stage—green culture, just as the mixing of yellow and blue in equal proportions produces peaceful and harmonious green. To the fatigued people, green culture is refreshment.Yellow Culture,Blue Culture and Green Culture will coexist in the world—these are the future cultures for the world.

文摘Target signal acquisition and detection based on sonar images is a challenging task due to the complex underwater environment. In order to solve the problem that some semantic information in sonar images is lost and model detection performance is degraded due to the complex imaging environment,we proposed a more effective and robust target detection framework based on deep learning, which can make full use of the acoustic shadow information in the forward-looking sonar images to assist underwater target detection.Firstly, the weighted box fusion method is adopted to generate a fusion box by weighted fusion of prediction boxes with high confidence,so as to obtain accurate acoustic shadow boxes.Further, the acoustic shadow box is cut down to get the feature map containing the acoustic shadow information, and then the acoustic shadow feature map and the target information feature map are adaptively fused to make full use of the acoustic shadow feature information. In addition,we introduce a threshold processing module to improve the attention of the model to important feature information.Through the underwater sonar dataset provided by Pengcheng Laboratory, the proposed method improved the average accuracy by 3.14%at the IoU threshold of 0.7,which is better than the current traditional target detection model.
文摘Delay/Disruption-Tolerant Networking(DTN) originated from research on Interplanetary Internet and still today space applications are the most important application field and research stimulus. The many results provided, confirm the essential role of DTN in future space communications.
文摘Classroom interaction involves many aspects, among which teacher's feedback is an important element. This paper aimes at studying teacher's feedback from the perspective of communication. It first discusses the definition of teacher's feedback and analyses the functions of teacher's feedback in the classroom interaction and then explores some strategies for effective feedback based on communication theory.
文摘Our paper presents an interactive four-dimensional model for studying the long- and short-term development of the communication discipline with Israel serving as a case study: institutional-contextual, institutional-in-field, intellectual-contextual, and intellectual-in-field. Our case-study analysis validated the interactive relationship among the model's conceptual dimensions, calling for future cross-national comparisons.
文摘One crucial measure of strengthening and advancing the Party's work on ethnic affairs in the new era is to promote interaction, communication and integration of various ethnic groups,so as to enhance commonality.Entering the new era,Inner Mongolia,Guangxi and Ningxia have achieved remarkable results in encouraging interaction, communication and integration of various ethnic groups.By comparatively analyzing successes of the three autonomous regions through the perspective of promoting commonality, this article summarizes the following strategic revelations:1)we should comprehensively implement the Party's ethnic policies and ensure theactual implementation of mutual interaction, mutual communication and mutual integration of ethnic groups;2)we should proactively promote the substantial progress of the economy,so as to provide solid material foundation for mutual interaction, mutual communication and mutual integration of ethnic groups;3)we should facilitate activities that promote ethnic unity and progress,so that the promotion of interaction, communication and mutual integration of ethnic groups can be seen,be felt and gain actual outcomes;4)we should take measures that suit to local conditions and explore all-round embedding mechanisms in order to foster the ethos for mutual interaction, mutual communication and mutual integration of ethnic groups;5)we should make every effort to forge a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation and orient precisely to the cause of encouraging mutual interaction, mutual communication and mutual integration of ethnic groups.

文摘Human posture estimation is a prominent research topic in the fields of human-com-puter interaction, motion recognition, and other intelligent applications. However, achieving highaccuracy in key point localization, which is crucial for intelligent applications, contradicts the lowdetection accuracy of human posture detection models in practical scenarios. To address this issue,a human pose estimation network called AT-HRNet has been proposed, which combines convolu-tional self-attention and cross-dimensional feature transformation.AT-HRNet captures significantfeature information from various regions in an adaptive manner, aggregating them through convolu-tional operations within the local receptive domain. The residual structures TripNeck and Trip-Block of the high-resolution network are designed to further refine the key point locations, wherethe attention weight is adjusted by a cross-dimensional interaction to obtain more features. To vali-date the effectiveness of this network,AT-HRNet was evaluated using the COCO2017 dataset.Theresults show that AT-HRNet outperforms HRNet by improving 3.2%in mAP,4.0%in AP75,and3.9%in AP^(M).This suggests that AT-HRNet can offer more beneficial solutions for human posture estimation.
