Integration of digital twin(DT)and wireless channel provides new solution of channel modeling and simulation,and can assist to design,optimize and evaluate intelligent wireless communication system and networks.With DT channel modeling,the generated channel data can be closer to realistic channel measurements without requiring a prior channel model,and amount of channel data can be significantly increased.Artificial intelligence(AI)based modeling approach shows outstanding performance to solve such problems.In this work,a channel modeling method based on generative adversarial networks is proposed for DT channel,which can generate identical statistical distribution with measured channel.Model validation is conducted by comparing DT channel characteristics with measurements,and results show that DT channel leads to fairly good agreement with measured channel.Finally,a link-layer simulation is implemented based on DT channel.It is found that the proposed DT channel model can be well used to conduct link-layer simulation and its performance is comparable to using measurement data.The observations and results can facilitate the development of DT channel modeling and provide new thoughts for DT channel applications,as well as improving the performance and reliability of intelligent communication networking. 展开更多

The sixth generation(6G)mobile networks will reshape the world by offering instant,efficient,and intelligent hyper-connectivity,as envisioned by the previously proposed Ubiquitous-X 6G networks.Such hyper-massive and global connectivity will introduce tremendous challenges into the operation and management of 6G networks,calling for revolutionary theories and technological innovations.To this end,we propose a new route to boost network capabilities toward a wisdom-evolutionary and primitive-concise network(WePCN)vision for the Ubiquitous-X 6G network.In particular,we aim to concretize the evolution path toward the WePCN by first conceiving a new semantic representation framework,namely semantic base,and then establishing an intelligent and efficient semantic communication(IE-SC)network architecture.In the IE-SC architecture,a semantic intelligence plane is employed to interconnect the semantic-empowered physical-bearing layer,network protocol layer,and application-intent layer via semantic information flows.The proposed architecture integrates artificial intelligence and network technologies to enable intelligent interactions among various communication objects in 6G.It features a lower bandwidth requirement,less redundancy,and more accurate intent identification.We also present a brief review of recent advances in semantic communications and highlight potential use cases,complemented by a range of open challenges for 6G. 展开更多

Future wireless communication networks tend to be intelligentized to accomplish the missions that cannot be preprogrammed.In the new intelligent communication systems,optimizing the network perfor-mance has become a challenge due to the ever-increasing complexity of the network environment.New theories and technologies for intelligent wireless communications have obtained widespread attention,among which deep reinforcement learning(DRL)is an excellent machine learning technology.DRL has great potential in enhancing the intelligence of wireless communication systems while overcoming the above challenge.This paper presents a review on applications of DRL in intelligent wireless com-munications with focuses on millimeter wave(mmWave),intelligent caching and unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)scenarios.We first introduce the concepts and basic prin-ciples of single/multi-agent DRL techniques.Then,we review the related works where DRL algorithms are used to address emerging issues in wireless communications.These issues include mmWave communication,intelligent caching,UAV aided communication,and handover/access control in HetNets.Finally,critical challenges and future research directions of applying DRL in intelligent wireless communications are outlined. 展开更多
