The booming live-streaming commerce has significantly changed the traditional e-commerce model,thus attracting much attention from both industry and academia.In recent years,an increasing number of scholars have appli...The booming live-streaming commerce has significantly changed the traditional e-commerce model,thus attracting much attention from both industry and academia.In recent years,an increasing number of scholars have applied analytical models to explore live-streaming strategies for firms in different scenarios.However,the previous literature mainly considers monopolists,while in the real world,competition is not rare.To fill this gap between the literature and practical observations,this paper applies a game theoretical model to study live-streaming adoption and pricing strategy for firms under competitive environments.The results show that,for competitive firms,the equilibrium strategy depends on the relation between the commission rate and the intensity of the market expansion effect.Additionally,compared to the case in which no firm adopts live-streaming,competitive firms do not always benefit from the adoption of live-streaming selling.The paper also shows that competition plays a negative role in inducing a firm to adopt live-streaming.展开更多

It has become an urgent task now for China′s rare earth industry to improve its competitiveness through adjusting the product structure and enhancing the technological application, to gain much healthier and more sustainable growth in the future. This paper aims to present a new development strategy based on the industry cluster theory to improve the competitiveness of China′s rare earth industry with a case study on the emerging rare earth industry cluster in Baotou. The paper first reviews the cluster theory and explains why it matters to industrial competitiveness briefly, and then proposes a general framework for implementing cluster policies and strategies in practice. Following that, a case to study the emerging rare earth industry cluster in Baotou was presented and a cluster initiative based on the general framework was developed. The objectives of the cluster initiative and the role of government on initiative organizing and cluster upgrading were discussed in detail. In the end, general implications drawn from the case of Baotou were summarized, which try to provide some insights for applying cluster-based strategies to the rare earth industry of China.展开更多
This study aimed to obtain empirical evidence related to:(1)competitive strategy implemented by small and medium-size enterprises(SMEs)fashion sector;(2)management accounting system practiced by SMEs fashion sector;an...This study aimed to obtain empirical evidence related to:(1)competitive strategy implemented by small and medium-size enterprises(SMEs)fashion sector;(2)management accounting system practiced by SMEs fashion sector;and(3)analyze whether the existing accounting system,in accordance with contingency theory is adequate to support strategy implementation.The object of this study is SMEs engaged in the fashion sector with research variables are:competitive strategy and management accounting practices.Methods of data collection using questionnaires with respondents are owners of SMEs fashion sector.Data analysis used quantitative descriptive analysis.The result of data analysis shows that most of SMEs which become sample of this research have been exporting or planned to export its product.Based on further analysis,most of SMEs engaged in the sector have not yet prepared financial statements.The most important accounting records are records of receivables,cash inflows,and cash outflow.With these results,it can be concluded that the fashion-based SMEs sector has not been supported by adequate management accounting system to support the implementation of competitive strategy.In order to improve the competitive advantage of fashion-based SMEs,it is necessary to assist management accounting system as a provider of information that can be used as a basis for decision-making in accordance with the strategy implemented.展开更多
