The effect of temperature on leaching behavior of copper minerals with different occurrence states in complex copper oxide ores was carried out by phase analysis means of XRD, optical microscopy and SEM-EDS. The results indicated that at ambient temperature, the easily leached copper oxide minerals were completely dissolved, while the bonded copper minerals were insoluble. At lukewarm temperature of 40℃, it was mainly the dissolution of copper in isomorphism state. With increasing temperature to 60℃, the copper leaching rate in the adsorbed state was significantly accelerated. In addition, when the temperature increased to 80℃, the isomorphic copper was completely leached, leaving 11.2% adsorbed copper un-leached. However, the copper in feldspar-quartz-copper-iron colloid state was not dissolved throughout the leaching process. Overall, the leaching rates of copper in different copper minerals decreased in the order: malachite, pseudo-malachite > chrysocolla > copper-bearing chlorite > copper-bearing muscovite > copper-bearing biotite > copper-bearing limonite > feldspar-quartz-copper-iron colloid. 展开更多

The leaching kinetics of Sb and Fe from antimony-bearing complex sulfides ore was investigated in HCl solution by oxidation?leaching with ozone. The effects of temperature,HCl concentration, stirring speed and particle size on the process were explored. It is found that the recoveries of Sb and Fe reach86.1%and28.8%,respectively,when the reaction conditions are4.0mol/L HCl,900r/min stirring speed at85°C with<0.074mm particle size after50min leaching.XRD analysis indicates that no new solid product forms in the leaching residue and the leaching process can be described by shrinking core model. The leaching of Sb corresponds to diffusion-controlled model at low temperature(15?45°C)and mixed-controlled model at high temperature(45?85°C),and the apparent activation energies are6.91and17.93kJ/mol,respectively.The leaching of Fe corresponds to diffusion-controlled model, and the apparent activation energy is1.99kJ/mol.Three semi-empirical rate equations are obtained to describe the leaching process. 展开更多

Next generation flotation agents of KSK series for the concentration of complex copper-lead ores and the new ferromagnetic nanosized depressor of galena are introduced in this work. The feature of the KSK flotation agents is that they exhibit both frother and collector properties. KSK-6 can successfully substitute the widely used in Kazakhstani industry reagent T-80 at the reduced consumption of butyl xanthate by 30%. The new ferromagnetic nanosized depressor of galena, besides a low consumption rate of 100 g/t, also makes possible to exclude sodium sulfite (3-4 kg/t) and ferrous sulfate (5-6 kg/t) from the separation process, and receive high metal grade concentrates. 展开更多

The Cu - An co - existence ore deposits related to intermediate- acidic volcanic - intrusive complexes are widespread in eastern China. They can be divided into 5 types: (1) sharn type, (2 )porphyry type, (3)vein type, (4 )breccia pipe type and (5)stratabound type. All of those have intimate spatial, temporal and genetic relations formed by the Mesozoic tertonicmatic - hydrothermal activities in certain geological environments. The magmatic and Cu-An metallogenic ager were predominately in Late Mesozoic (179-90 Ma), and in the period of 150-120 Ma the ore-forming Processes reached the Peak. The main geological Settings of Cu-An ore-forming Processes are: (1) continental margins, including the Peripheral depression of the continental Plate, (2) deep fault zones in the continental Plate,(3)continental rift belt. The magmatic activities were under the combined control of basement fault (s )and superficial fault (s ), and mostly formed the continental volcanic basins. The regional Cu-An metallogenic zones occur along the deep fault zones in WNW - EW direction, such as the Tongling metallogenic subzone, or in NE-NNE direction, such as the Dexing metallogenic subzone. Most of Cu- An ore deposits are related to subvolcanic stocks consist of quartz diorite, granodiorite, quartz porphyry, andesite porphyry, trachyte porphyry and other rocks, which belong to the calc- alkaline series and the I - type granitoid. The spatial zoning of matals from the center to periphery of the stocks is: CU (Mo )→ Cu,Au→Cu, Ph, Zn,An →Ph, Zn, Ag →Ph, Ag. There is a typical venical metallic zoning (from surface to 3 000m in depth ) in Yinshan Cu-An-Ph-Zn-Ag ore deposit, northeastern Jianxi Province. 展开更多

By applying the 'theory of synchronization' from the science of complexity to studying the regional regularity of ore formation within the Nanling region of southern China, a characteristic targetpattern regional ore zonality has been discovered. During the early and late Yanshanian epoch (corresponding respectively to the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods), two centers of ore formation emerged successively in the Nanling region; the former is mainly for rare metals (W, Sn, Mo, Bi, Nb) and one rare-earth element (La) and was generated in the Jurassic period; whereas the latter is mainly for base metals (Cu, Pb, Zn, Sb, Hg), noble metals (Au, Ag), and one radioactive element (U) and was generated in the Cretaceous period. Centers of ore formation were brought about by interface dynamics respectively at the Qitianling and Jiuyishan districts in southern Hunan Province. The characteristic giant nonlinear target-pattern regional ore zonality was generated by spatio-temporal synchronization process of the Nanling complex metallogenic system. It induced the collective dynamics and cooperative behavior of the system and displayed the configuration of the regional ore zonality. Then dynamical clustering transformed the configuration into rudimentary ordered coherent structures. Phase dynamics eventually defined the spatio-temporal structures of the target-pattern regional ore zonality and determined their localization and distribution. A new methodology for revealing regional ore zonality is developed, which will encourage further investigation of the formation of deep-seated ore resources and the onset of large-scale mineralization. 展开更多

A semi-regional study was carried out in the Yaounde-Sangmelima area, a densely vegetated tropical region of southern Cameroon located in the Central Africa Fold Belt (CAFB)/Congo Craton (CC) transition zone. Towards structural lineaments and predictive hydrothermal porphyry deposits mapping, an integrated analysis of Landsat-8 OLI data, aeromagnetic, geological and mineral indices maps was performed. The Remote sensing using False colour composite images involving bands combinations and Crosta method (features oriented principal components analysis) enabled the mapping of the gneisses and schists domains without a clear differentiation between the Yaounde and Mbalmayo schists;despite the reflectance anomalies evidenced NW of Akonolinga, hydrothermal alterations in the study area failed to be detected. Besides, aeromagnetics depicted a moderately fractured northern zone (the CAFB) contrasting with a high densely fractured zone (the CC, known as Ntem complex). The Ntem complex displays signatures of a meta-igneous, an intrusive complex, greenstone relics south of Sangmelima and hydrothermal activity. Indeed, CET porphyry analysis tool detected many porphyry centres. In general, the study revealed many lineaments including contacts, fractures faults zones and strike-slips. The major aeromagnetics structures are SW-NE to WSW-ENE and WNW-ESE to NW-SE while those from Landsat-8 are NE-SW, WNW-ESE, NW-SE, WSW-ENE and NW-ESE to NNW-SSE. Together, these structures depict trans-compressions or trans-tensions corresponding to a broad NE-SW strike-slips channel that affect both the CAFB and the Ntem Complex, and they control the intrusions thus confirming a pervasive hydrothermal activity within the Ntem Complex. The proximity or coincidence of these porphyry centres with some mapped Iron-Gold affiliated mineral indices and porphyry granites indicate the possible occurrence of many hydrothermal ore deposits. These results show the high probability for the Ntem complex to host porphyry deposits so they may serve to boost mineral exploration in the Yaounde-Sangmelima region and in the entire southern Cameroon as well. 展开更多

The kinetics of isothermal reduction of the carbon bearing pellets, which were mainly composed of Bayanobo complex iron ore and pulverized coal, was investigated by thermogravimetry at the temperature of 1 273-1 673 K. The effects of xC/xO and the atmospheres on the extent of reduction also were investigated. The results indicate that the fractional reaction increased proportionally with temperature increasing and heating temperature is the significant influence factor to the reaction of carbon bearing pellets. The optimum xC/xO is 1.2 and the effect of atmosphere on the reduction of iron oxides is almost negligible. The results can be interpreted that the reaction was initially controlled by a mixed controlled mechanism of carbon gasification and interface chemical reaction, and in the later stage, interface chemical reaction became the rate-controlling step. Apparent activation energy values of reduction at different levels of fractional reaction were calculated. Before F (fraction of reaction)=0.5, the apparent activation energy ranges from 66.39 to 75.64 kJ/mol, while after F=0.5, the apparent activation energy is 80.98 to 85.37 kJ/mol. 展开更多

Ludwigite is a kind of complex iron ore containing boron, iron, and magnesium, and it is the most promising boron resource in China. Selective reduction of iron oxide is the key step for the comprehensive utilization of ludwigite. In the present work, the reduction mechanism of ludwigite was investigated. The thermogravimetry and differential scanning calorimetry analysis and isothermal reduction of ludwigite/coal composite pellet were performed. Ludwigite yielded a lower reduction starting temperature and a higher final reduction degree compared with the traditional iron concentrates. Higher specific surface area and more fine cracks might be the main reasons for the better reducibility of ludwigite. Reducing temperature highly affected the reaction fraction and microstructure of the reduced pellets, which are closely related to the separation degree of boron and iron. Increasing reducing temperature benefited the boron and iron magnetic separation. Optimum magnetic separation results could be obtained when the pellet was reduced at 1300°C. The separated boron-rich non-magnetic concentrate presented poor crystalline structure, and its extraction efficiency for boron reached 64.3%. The obtained experimental results can provide reference for the determination of the comprehensive utilization flow sheet of ludwigite. 展开更多

The Obrochishte deposit located in the Republic of Bulgaria has considerable reserves of relatively poor carbonate manganese ore. At the same time, in the country there are operative outputs for the production of sulphuric acid where vanadium catalyst is deactivated and discharged, polluting the environment. The utilization of these materials requires their consolidation to proper sizes with regard to the next processing, as the most suitable method for joint consolidation is agglomeration. The present work explores the preliminary calculations for obtaining agglomerate and obtaining an alloy with high and low carbon content, through carbothermic and aluminothermic agglomerate reduction. 展开更多

To examine the activation of organic acids on the leaching process of ion-adsorption type rare earth ore(IRE-ore), the leaching behavior of rare earth(RE) and zeta potential of IRE-ore were investigated in the absence and presence of carboxylic acids. The results show that all the tested organic acids(acetic acid, malonic acid, citric acid, tartaric acid, succinic acid, and malic acid) can promote RE extraction. At relatively high concentrations of organic acids, the activation efficiency of organic acids on RE extraction is generally consistent with their complexation ability; whereas at their low concentrations, the change of zeta potential on the IRE-ore surface with organic acid concentration and p H has a close association with RE extraction, which indicates that organic acids can impact the surface electrical property of IREore via their adsorption/desorption, and thereby increase/decrease the affinity of RE ions to IRE-ore.Therefore the influence of organic acids on the IRE-ore surface electrical property also plays an important role in RE extraction in addition to their complexation with RE ions. 展开更多
