The granular flow shows a dilute- to-dense flow transition when the channel width is varied, accompanied with a peculiar bistable phenomenon. The bistable phenomenon is induced by the initial packing config- uration of particles. When the packing is dense, the initial flux is small and will induce a dense flow. When the packing is loose, the initial flux is large and will induce a di- lute flow. The fabric network of granulax packing is analyzed from a complex network perspective. The degree distribution shows quantitatively different characteristics for the configurations. A two-dimensional (2D) packing clustering coefficient is defined to better quantify the fabric network.展开更多

Two types of traffic are considered: homogeneous and heterogeneous traffic. The congestion phenomenon is studied in stationary conditions through the behaviour of two quantities: the mean travel time of a packet and the mean number of packets that have not reached their destination and are traveling in the network. We define a transformation that maps a network having the small world property (Inet 3037 in our numerical experiments) into a (modified) lattice network that has the same number of nodes. This map changes the capacity of the branches of the graphs representing the networks and can be regarded as an “interpolation” between the two classes of networks. Using this transformation we compare the behaviour of Inet 3037 to the behaviour of a modified rectangular lattice and we study the behaviour of the interpolating networks. This study suggests how to change the network topology and the branch capacities in order to alleviate the congestion phenomenon. In this case, light interference-phenomenon occurred such as Morie, wet-out, u-turning, etc. It caused several problems such as low brightness, spots and stripes in LCD. Recently, the high-luminance micro complex prism patterns are actively studied to avoid the light interference-phenomenon and enhance the optical efficiency. In this study, the roll master to manufacture complex micro prism pattern film was machined by using the high precision lathe. The machined patterns on the roll master were 50, 45, 40, 35, 30, 25, 20, 15, 10 and 5 μm in the pitch with 25.0, 22.5, 20.0, 17.5, 15.0, 12.5, 10.0, 7.5, 5.0 and 2.5 μm in the peak height, respectively. The roll was 2 000 mm in length and 320 mm in diameter. The electroplated roll by copper and the natural single crystal diamond tool was used for machining the patterns. The cutting force was measured and analyzed for each cutting condition by using the dynamometer. The chips and the surfaces after being machined were analyzed by SEM and microscope.展开更多
