THE SOLID STATE ALDOL CONDENSATION REACTION OF ACETYLFERROCENE AND AROMATIC ALDEHYDES

The aldol condensation reactions of acetylferrocene with several aromatic aldehydes have been studied in the solid state.The results showed that they revealed different reactivities in the solid slate from that in solution and eight compounds have been prepared. Their structures have been characterized by UV,IR,1~HNMR,HS and elemental analysis.

The Clar covering polynomial of hexagonal systems Ⅱ.An application to resonance energy of condensed aromatic hydrocarbons

The Clar covering polynomial of hexagonal systems is a recently proposed1,2 concept which contains much more topological properties of condensed aromatic hydrocarbons, such as Kekule structure count, Clar number, first Herndon number, etc. It is shown that this polynomial can be used for calculating the resonance energy of condensed aromatic hydrocarbons with better accuracy.

α-Fe_2O_3 nanoparticles:An efficient,inexpensive catalyst for the one-pot preparation of 3,4-dihydropyrano[c]chromenes

This paper describes the combustion synthesis ofα-Fe2O3 nanopowder at much lower temperature and its catalytic activity for the one-pot preparation of 3,4-dihydropyrano[c]chromenes.The combustion derivedα-Fe_2O_3 nanopowder was characterized by powder X-ray diffraction（PXRD）,Braunauer,Emmett and Teller（BET） surface area,scanning electron microscopy（SEM） and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy（FTIR）.Highly efficient,three-component condensation of aromatic aldehyde,malanonitrile and 4- hydroxycoumarin catalyzed byα-Fe2O3 nanoparticles at room temperature is described.The method offers an excellent alternative to the synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrano[c]chromenes.The reactions are rapid,clean,and the products with good yield and high purity.

1-Sulfopyridinium chloride:Green and expeditious ionic liquid for the one-pot synthesis of fused 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones and thiones under solvent-free conditions

1-Sulfopyridinium chloride portrayed as an efficient and recyclable ionic liquid for the synthesis of fused3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2（1H）-ones and thiones via a modified Biginelli reaction involving one-pot three component condensation of 6-methoxy-1-tetralone,arylaldehydes and urea/thiourea under solventfree conditions.Analytically pure products are formed within 10–20 min in excellent yields.

Electro-catalyzed multicomponent transformation of 3-methyl-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5(4H)-one to 1,4-dihydropyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole derivatives in green medium

An efficient and convenient synthesis of 1,4-dihydropyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole derivatives is described,using the electrogenerated anion of ethanol as the base in the presence of sodium bromide as an supporting electrolyte in a one-pot, three component condensation of malononitrile, aromatic aldehydes and 3-methyl-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5（4H）-one. The reaction is carried out in an undivided cell containing an iron electrode as the cathode and a graphite electrode as the anode, at a constant current at room temperature.
