A prestigious conference claimed recently a revolution in neuroscience to understand consciousness. In this paper it is shown that this revolution already came, revealing the determinant role of information for human and living structures, both for their structuration and behavior, explaining consciousness at human as the result of the activity of the Informational System of Human and Living Structures. For this,it is emphasized and discussed the informational structure of the eukaryotic cell, the basic/representative composing unit of the multicellular body of human, animals, and plants, showing that the composition and functions of the informational system are basically similar with that of human. To reveal the driving role of informational mechanisms in human and subhuman organisms,it is introduced the concept of matter-related information, showing that information can be hidden/“embodied”or released/“disembodied”in or from the elemental micro/macro components of the body, during the multiple chain/cascade interactions including transduction processes. It is shown that such interactions are initiated from two main categories of informational sources:implicit(genetic)and explicit(external/internal)sources,the first category leading to structuration of the body and the second the reactive behavior.Consciousness in human and subhuman organisms, expressed by two corresponding informational relations,is the result of the release of information by the mind, acting as an informational operator/device,the development degree of mind and consciousness depending on the complexity degree and adaptation. An analogy of this Informational Model of Human and Living Structures(IMHLS)with the ancient model of chakras is highlighted, showing that these models support each other, applied with beneficial effects in Reiki technique and music-based cognitive multi-task therapy for neuro-rehabilitation. 展开更多

The current randomized controlled trial was performed at the China Rehabilitation Science Institute, China to test the hypothesis that musical auditory stimulation has positive effects on the autonomic nervous system of patients with disorder of consciousness.Although past studies have recommended that patients with disorder of consciousness listen to patient-preferred music, this practice is not universally accepted by researchers.Twenty patients with severe disorder of consciousness listened to either therapist-selected(n = 10, 6 males and 4 females;43.33 ± 18.76 years old) or patient-preferred(n = 10, 5 males and 5 females, 48.83 ± 18.79 years old) musical therapy, 30 minutes/day, 5 times/week for 6 weeks. The results showed no obvious differences in heart rate variability-related parameters including heart rate, standard deviation of normal-to-normal R-R intervals, and the root-mean-square of successive heartbeat interval differences of successive heartbeat intervals between the two groups of patients. However, percentage of differences exceeding 50 ms between adjacent normal number of intervals, low-frequency power/high-frequency power, high-frequency power norm, low-frequency power norm, and total power were higher in patients receiving therapist-selected music than in patients receiving their own preferred music. In contrast, this relationship was reversed for the high-frequency power and very-low-frequency band. These results suggest that compared with preferred musical stimulation, therapist-selected musical stimulation resulted in higher interactive activity of the autonomic nervous system. Therefore, therapist-selected musical stimulation should be used to arouse the autonomic nervous system of patients with disorder of consciousness. This study was approved by the Institutional Ethics Committee of China Rehabilitation Research Center, China(approval No.2018-022-1) on March 12, 2018 and registered with the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry(registration number Chi CTR1800017809) on August 15, 2018. 展开更多

The large scale universe is full of mystery;the dark matter and dark energy amount to respective 23%and 73%of the total energy of the universe, whereas the rest 4%of the total energy is attributed to the normal material world which can be comprehended by the present science. In the nano-scale quantum world, the EPR(Einstein,Podolsky, and Rosen)paradox and Bells formalism and its experimental tests demonstrated that there is an intrinsic nonlocality present in the quantum world through quantum entanglement which is against the relativity that the information communication between two quanta cannot exceed the speed of light.Even more seriously is the philosophical problem why a deterministic Schrodinger equation describes a particle resulting in a probability interpretation of the particle. In the medium size of the universe, the human brain is mysterious;the human all have consciousness that is the subjective awareness of the inner and outer world which is hard to comprehend in physics;some paranormal phenomena due to the action of the consciousness like finger reading, remote viewing, psychokinesis are even harder to understand. In order to explain these large, medium, and small scale bewildering phenomena in the universe,I proposed two hypotheses in 2014(Lee,2014):(1)The real universe is a complex universe consisting of 8 dimensional(8D)space-time.In addition to our familiar 4D real space-time(Yang),there exists another 4D imaginary space-time(Yin)full of consciousness and information websites which are part of the dark matter.(2)When an object is in a quantum state, the imaginary part of its complex wavefunction(or quantum field)represents the consciousness of the object;the content of the consciousness is determined by the space-time geometry of the real part of the complex wavefunction(quantum mind). This hypothesis provides a scientific basis for pan-psychism that everything has a soul but so long as it enters into the quantum state. 展开更多

The interdisciplinary researches for a scientific explanation of consciousness constitute one of the most exciting challenges of contemporary science. However, although considerable progress has been made in the neurophysiology of states of consciousness such as sleep/waking cycles, investigation of subjective and objective nature of consciousness contents raises still serious difficulties. Based on a wide range of analysis and experimental studies, approaches to modeling consciousness actually focus on both philosophical, non-neural and neural approaches. Philosophical and non-neural approaches include the naturalistic dualism model of Chalmers, the multiple draft cognitive model of Dennett, the phenomenological theory of Varela and Maturana, and the physics-based hypothesis of Hameroff and Penrose. The neurobiological approaches include the neurodynamical model of Freeman, the visual system-based theories of Lamme, Zeki, Milner and Goodale, the phenomenal/access hypothesis of Block, the emotive somatosensory theory of Damasio, the synchronized cortical model of Llinas and of Crick and Koch, and the global neurophysiological brain model of Changeux and Edelman. There have been also many efforts in recent years to study the artificial intelligence systems such as neurorobots and some supercomputer programs, based on laws of computational machines and on laws of processing capabilities of biological systems. This approach has proven to be a fertile physical enterprise to check some hypothesis about the functioning of brain architecture. Until now, however, no machine has been capable of reproducing an artificial consciousness. 展开更多

New Issue to Modeling Intentionality in the Field of Consciousness

Brentano in 1870s was the first to introduce intentionality to mean “conscious of”. At the end of the 1960s, a version of this view was developed by analytic American philosophy to construct a theory of meaningful language. That led Dennett to claim that intentionality was mainly a feature of sentence, not mental states. In contrast, Searle in 1990s rejected the Brentanian thesis and explained intentionality by a biological naturalism. Thereafter, radical eliminativists such as Churchland claimed that all philosophical arguments merited replacement by neuroscientific knowledge. Unfortunately, very few neurophysiological studies attempted to scientifically tackle the problem raised by intentionality. The issue now emerging is a new conception of intentionality based on phenomenological, neurobiological and quantum theories, such as: 1) the notion of “intentional arc” proposed in the philosophy of Merleau-Ponty;2) the neurobiological and quantum model of Freeman, in which self-organizing pathways are accompanied by quantum transitions in controlling intentionality in brain;3) the recent hypothesis that some visuo-motor neurons would be involved in controlling these self-organized pathways;4) the quantum models of Vitiello and Globus, in which a thermofield (dissipative) system governs the dynamic dialog of dual quantum modes between environment and brain. Based on this conception of mind-world interactions, it implicitly appears that intentionality might be a fundamental force which draws us irreversibly towards the future. An alternative hypothesis based on this promising proposal is argued. 展开更多

The authors have proposed a new approach to the theory of consciousness, which takes into account the effect of the magnetic field on the process. The authors have shown that the process of information and thinking can be modeled on the basis of chemical thermodynamics. The authors offer general equations to calculate the thinking of the work of judgment the L and of entropy solutions G in the presence of a magnetic field. As a result, studies have shown that the magnetic effects strongly influence the thermodynamics of the process of thinking. 展开更多

We know that increased population and unrestrained consumption are generating problems, which becomes critical for our planet. This impending context is part of a whole system, triggered by a logic operation which needs to be reconsidered urgently. The consumer consciousness of tourism knows to what extent their different actions will help change something. To achieve this awareness of sustainable consumption requires a restructuring and reform of the cultural, social, and political aspects of the site and the citizen. With this vision and the proposal for a case study of tourism marketing consciousness, the objective of this study is to raise consumers' awareness of tourist destinations to develop their abilities to use the right information to make the right choices and to be ecologically responsible. Through this differentia/, every action carried out in the tourist spot is of singular importance to create sustainable added value for the citizen. In this case, tour operators, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and local governments should also invest in educational programs that guide these consumers to enjoy as citizens the tourist areas consciously and effectively. Thus, we believe that training in tourism will lead the stakeholders of consciousness tourist destination to feel protagonist in the broad economic context, social, political, and cultural society of the destination of their choices. 展开更多

Inspired by Roger Nelson’s Global Consciousness Project (GCP), the Global Earth Healing Project (GEHP) uses a network of several hundred physical noise generators to amplify the combined intentions of their users in order to infuse positive affirmations into the global consciousness. As mentioned in the original study design, it was intended to use the GCP as a reference for the effectiveness of its activities. The data of the GEHP consisting of 21 events from 2013 to 2020 is analyzed and statistically compared to the data of the GCP. An astonishing synchronicity was observed, which suggests an interaction between the brain states of the observers and the physical noise generators of the GCP. 展开更多

Healing therapies are a set of techniques used with the aim of transfusing healthy “bioenergy” to other people in order to restore physical, mental, and emotional balance. It is necessary that something is donated from the healer, that is, something results from his organic metabolism. Also, based on your physical, mental, and emotional health, the energy resulting from your metabolism is assumed to be healthy for the healing of patients. On the other hand, also in many cases, healing does not occur due to the “vicious” quality of the energy to be transfused and the low receptivity of the patient. However, in most cases, it depends not only on the healer but also on the receiver, but usually on other healers, such as higher order consciousnesses. In fact, in many cases of healing, the effect is almost instantaneous with just the healer’s “magnetic energy”, especially in painful crises. Without a doubt, I believe that biophoton is an anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antibacterial and immunomodulatory bioenergy. The healing effectiveness of these therapies is well established. It is a cell-restoring product that can rebuild tissues and organs in a short time, which in many cases leads to the restoration of the patient’s health and well-being. The aim of this study is to address a brief history of ancestral energies of Asian philosophy (Chinese, Japanese and Indian), highlight the role of consciousness and the healer in healing therapies. In addition, the study emphasizes the similarity of these energies with the one called “ectoplasm”, as well as it establishes connections with the newly elected ultra-weak emission of photons. Finally, bibliographic research was carried out in an English language database and innovative concepts were introduced about the role of consciousness as well as the healer in healing therapies. 展开更多

Neuroscience and physics have progressed far enough that the explanatory gap between models of matter and the substance of perceptual experience is tantalizingly close to being bridged, at least insofar as consciousness is produced by the brain. This paper aims to describe the basics of how signals are transmitted within neurons via electromagnetic energy fluctuations, how EM fields emergent from these energy flows manifest as the subconscious and an experience of willed agency, as well as how the quantum principles which both EM radiation and atomic structure abide combine them to form percepts from electromagnetic matter. This might be the most promising option yet for fashioning a physical paradigm that theorizes consciousness. 展开更多

Before the Victorian era,it was rare for women to be authors and writers to fix the protagonists of their works as female characters. However,in the 19^(th)century,there was a rapid increase of women writers and emphasis on feminist consciousness.Among all the works of women writers,Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights which were written by the Bronte sisters were distinctive. The Bronte sisters conveyed their feminist consciousness and described the society in their works. Both works emphasized romantic relationships as the narrative thread.By shaping the female characters in their works as self-reliant women who fought for equivalence and freedom in the era where male chauvinism occupied leadership roles, the Bronte sisters conveyed their eagerness for freedom, equality, and their feminist consciousness. This paper combines features of the Victorian era and the Bronte sisters’life experiences to analyze feminist consciousness in these two works and make comparisons between them. 展开更多
