Analysis of gearbox repair policy that includes economic considerations is important for the effective operation of offshore wind farms. From their initial perfect working states, gearboxes degrade with time, which leads to decreased working efficiency. Thus, offshore wind turbine gearboxes can be considered to be multi-state systems with the various levels of productivity for different working states. To efficiently compute the time-dependent distribution of this multi-state system and analyze its reliability, application of the nonhomogeneous continuous-time Markov process(NHCTMP) is appropriate for this type of object. To determine the relationship between operation time and maintenance cost, many factors must be taken into account, including maintenance processes and vessel requirements. Finally, an optimal repair policy can be formulated based on this relationship.展开更多

The dynamic state-feedback controller uses inputoutput data along the system trajectory to conti...In this paper, adaptive linear quadratic regulator(LQR) is proposed for continuous-time systems with uncertain dynamics. The dynamic state-feedback controller uses inputoutput data along the system trajectory to continuously adapt and converge to the optimal controller. The result differs from previous results in that the adaptive optimal controller is designed without the knowledge of the system dynamics and an initial stabilizing policy. Further, the controller is updated continuously using input-output data, as opposed to the commonly used switched/intermittent updates which can potentially lead to stability issues. An online state derivative estimator facilitates the design of a model-free controller. Gradient-based update laws are developed for online estimation of the optimal gain. Uniform exponential stability of the closed-loop system is established using the Lyapunov-based analysis, and a simulation example is provided to validate the theoretical contribution.展开更多
In a two-stage supply chain composed of one supplier and one retailer,the supply chain coordination mechanism in a fuzzy continuous demand environment is researched.A positive triangular fuzzy number is used to model ...In a two-stage supply chain composed of one supplier and one retailer,the supply chain coordination mechanism in a fuzzy continuous demand environment is researched.A positive triangular fuzzy number is used to model the external market demand.Using the method of fuzzy cut sets theory,both fuzzy decentralized and centralized decision-making processes are analyzed,and another model of fuzzy return contract is proposed to help coordinate such supply chain.It is shown that in fuzzy environment there exists a unique solution of the retailer's optimal order quantity,the double marginalization problem can be solved by providing different tactics for wholesale pricing and return pricing,and the fuzzy expected profit of each actor can be expected to improve in the return contract.Finally,a numerical example is given to illustrate the models and the solution-seeking process.展开更多
The article seeks to examine the East Look Policy(ELP)in Iran’s Foreign Policy(IFP)(2005-2013).We believe that states,due to different factors,may adopt different policies in their FP.So,the main research question is...The article seeks to examine the East Look Policy(ELP)in Iran’s Foreign Policy(IFP)(2005-2013).We believe that states,due to different factors,may adopt different policies in their FP.So,the main research question is:Why did Iranian state adopt ELP in its FP in duration of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad era?With regard to the question,our hypothesis is“there are some factors in Iran’s internal environment that we called them micro-level factors and some variable in external environment that we called them macro-level variables in formation of ELP in IFP”.To prove this hypothesis,we use James Rosenau’s foreign policy theory that has been stood on two micro-and macrolevel analysis to examination of FP of any state.Regarding Rosenau’s theory,there are four factors on micro-level include:individual of policy-maker,his/her role in political system,social values,and governmental structure.In addition,in macro-level,there are some variables,such as the logic of anarchy,the action of other states(especially US),and nuclear sanctions imposed by the US and Western nations.展开更多

It is assumed that the state space is countable and the action space is Borel measurable space...This paper considers the variance optimization problem of average reward in continuous-time Markov decision process (MDP). It is assumed that the state space is countable and the action space is Borel measurable space. The main purpose of this paper is to find the policy with the minimal variance in the deterministic stationary policy space. Unlike the traditional Markov decision process, the cost function in the variance criterion will be affected by future actions. To this end, we convert the variance minimization problem into a standard (MDP) by introducing a concept called pseudo-variance. Further, by giving the policy iterative algorithm of pseudo-variance optimization problem, the optimal policy of the original variance optimization problem is derived, and a sufficient condition for the variance optimal policy is given. Finally, we use an example to illustrate the conclusion of this paper.展开更多
