The application scenarios of railway radio communication are complex,while the existing narrowband communication such as GSM-R and radio train dispatching system fails to meet the requirements of service application development.The carrying capacity of railway 5G-R has been greatly improved,mainly for wide-area train-ground communication services such as dispatching communication,train control and train operation safety monitoring.However,for large passenger stations,freight yards,maintenance bases and other places with densely populated railway operators,it is unable to carry overall railway service applications limited by the spectrum bandwidth of 5G private networks,so it is necessary to consider various radio technologies for supplementation.This paper also elaborates the railway service application scenarios,analyzes the characteristics of radio communication technologies such as 5G mmWave and the 6th-generation wireless LAN technology(Wi-Fi6),and discusses the schemes of multi-technology convergence carrying railway 5G service applications. 展开更多

The heterogeneous network convergence is the trend of future network development. However, many bottlenecks exist in the converged system such as high time delay, high energy consumption, and low data rate. Multi-Radio Cooperation (MRC) technology is specially designed to overcome these bottlenecks and to satisfy the requirements of heterogeneous network convergence. MRC can improve network capacity, reduce the energy consumption of radio devices, and decrease handover latency between heterogeneous networks by the cooperation of multiple radios, and by efficient management and feasible allocation of multi-radio resources. MRC makes real seamless heterogeneous network convergence possible. 展开更多

The communications development requires interaction between converging heterogeneous technology environment, with quality and continuity of services to remain competitive. The full implementation of the Future Internet concept implies in the necessity to operate among heterogeneous technology platforms with continuity of QoS (Quality of Service), what leads to the necessity of an innovative business model to support it and new technical mechanisms of vertical handover to ensure the QoS continuity required and expected by final users but, mainly, perceived by them. An innovative business model that requires innovative QoS continuity mechanisms must consider technical and commercial interoperation among many telecommunication services providers, nationally and internationally based. This interaction demands clear rules to be followed by every player along the telecommunication services chain,i.e., it demands a set of regulation acts to guide them and allow their viability. 展开更多

This article aims to provide reference for medicine-engineering interdisciplinary research.Targeted at the scientific literature and patent literature published by Shanghai Jiao Tong University,this article attempts to set up co-occurrence matrix of medicine-engineering institutional information which was extracted from address fields of the papers,so as to construct the medicine-engineering intersection datasets.The dataset of scientific literature was analyzed using bibliometrics and visualization methods from multiple dimensions,and the most active factors,such as trends of output,journal and subject distribution,were identified from the indicators of category normalized citation impact(CNCI),times cited,keywords,citation topics and the degree of medicineengineering interdisplinary.Research on hotspots and trends was discussed in detail.Analyses of the dataset of patent literature showed research themes and measured the degree for technology convergence of medicineengineering. 展开更多

Think tanks play a fundamental role in shaping policy agendas in Western countries,especially in the US.As international biosecurity is turning from a moderate to a serious concern,the convergence of biosecurity subjects and think tanks is evidently increasing.Examining the involvement and implication of think tanks in biosecurity policy formulation domestically and internationally is,therefore,of great value.This article takes a brief look at the intellectual output of over 30 think tanks during the last five years,before and after the outbreak of COVID-19,and tries to build an understanding of the extent to which these think tanks informed strategic,operational,and tactical decisions,with the aim of providing a better basis for dealing with sophisticated biological threats. 展开更多
