With our country’s social development,the gap between urban and rural education has become increasingly obvious,especially the difference in student achievement.This study aims to explore the impact of the urban-rura...With our country’s social development,the gap between urban and rural education has become increasingly obvious,especially the difference in student achievement.This study aims to explore the impact of the urban-rural education gap on student achievement.The study adopts a quantitative analysis method to collect and analyze the academic performance,learning resources,and social resources of urban and rural students.The results show that the unbalanced distribution of educational resources in urban and rural areas is the key factor leading to the gap in students’achievement.For example,urban education resources are abundant while rural education resources are relatively scarce.At the same time,the difference in social environment and family economic status also have a significant impact on student achievement.The differences between urban and rural areas,particularly in terms of family economic conditions and their ability to invest in education,further widen the gap between urban and rural education.The results of this study can provide a reference for reducing the gap between urban and rural education and improving the academic performance of rural students.A fair education policy is essential to narrow the gap between urban and rural education resources distribution,so as to improve the equality of education in society.展开更多

The model assumes that the population size of urban and rural areas is different,and the population can not flow freely between urban and rural areas; there are different degrees of spillover in the public goods supply. Model results show that coordinating public goods supply in urban and rural areas is the result of optimizing resource allocation efficiency,but the residents' individual utility level will not necessarily improve,so residents' willingness to support coordinated urban-rural supply is different,and public goods spillover and different tax systems are the factors that affect the residents' utility level. Finally,this paper uses the practice of coordinating urban and rural compulsory education in Chengdu City to confirm the above conclusions.展开更多

In conclusion, the formation and evolution of these diverse rural deveJopment models are the direct response to the very different characteristics in the environment, market demand, and regional culture. By introducing a general equilibrium framework to China's dual economic structure, this paper studies the microscopic mechanism of education input to narrow the urban-rural income gap and how to improve the alloca...By introducing a general equilibrium framework to China's dual economic structure, this paper studies the microscopic mechanism of education input to narrow the urban-rural income gap and how to improve the allocation efficiency of education funds in China's "new normal" economy. The empirical analysis results show that education input is effective in narrowing the urban-rural income gap and achieving a Pareto improvement state in both direct and indirect ways. However, the effect of education input at different stages varies. In particular, the impact of compulsory education on improving inequality is more significant than the other education levels. With adjustment for the macroeconomic slowdown, raising fiscal expenditures on education can improve potential economic growth by promoting human capital accumulation and labor productivity in the long run. In all, education input can promote labor migration and narrow the urban-rural income gap, which is conducive to alleviating the contradiction of the structural transformation lag in employment and achieving inclusive growth targets.展开更多

Objective:To determine health systems-related,familial,and cultural factors which influence the delivery and uptake of measles vaccination in Indonesia.Methods:Logistic regression analysis of data collected during the...Objective:To determine health systems-related,familial,and cultural factors which influence the delivery and uptake of measles vaccination in Indonesia.Methods:Logistic regression analysis of data collected during the 2007 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey was undertaken by the authors to investigate these factors.The 2007 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey dataset is a nationally representative,randomly sampled survey containing 15 065 children aged between 9 and 59 months.Results:72.8%of children had received the measles vaccine.Vaccination coverage was similar for males and females;however,coverage was higher amongst urban children,80.1%,compared to 68.5%in rural areas.The key findings of the regression analysis were congruent with the results of previous research targeting vaccination coverage.After controlling for all other factors,maternal age,maternal education,wealth, the use of a skilled birth attendant,and postnatal check-ups were positively and significantly (P【 0.01) correlated with measles vaccination.The number of children per household was negatively correlated(P【0.01).Conclusions:In order to enhance measles vaccination coverage in Indonesia,delivery to,and uptake by,rural and low socio-economic populations require substantial improvements.Mass health education and health systems improvements are also required.展开更多

In conclusion, the formation and evolution of these diverse rural deveJopment models are the direct response to the very different characteristics in the environment, market demand, and regional culture. These models are common in that their sustainability depends on the scientific guidance of the regional development functional positioning, strong intra-regional interactions, and self-adaptability to the external conditions.

文摘The general law of regional spatial evolution is researched.In the process of the evolution of four stages,namely the early stage of traditional agriculture and industrialization,the middle stage of industrialization,the later stage of industrialization and post-industrialization,the types of space are homogenized space,polarized space,pole-axis space and integrated space respectively;the choosing of the spatial location is influenced by economy,society and environment,and the spatial structure extends along with three-dimensional space.Based on the fact that China's urban-rural spatial structure evolution develops rapidly,and the outstanding characteristics of dual structure becomes the main obstacle to urban-rural balanced development,the thesis poses the countermeasures of China's urban-rural spatial integrated balanced development.It points out that the healthy development of socio-economy is the external environment of realizing urban-rural spatial integration;the urban-rural coordinated planning is the prerequisite of realizing urban-rural spatial integration;fulfilling the governmental function is the key to realizing urban-rural spatial integration;promoting agricultural industrialization is the approach to realizing urban-rural spatial integration;perfecting social security system is the basis of realizing urban-rural spatial integration.
文摘By introducing a general equilibrium framework to China's dual economic structure, this paper studies the microscopic mechanism of education input to narrow the urban-rural income gap and how to improve the allocation efficiency of education funds in China's "new normal" economy. The empirical analysis results show that education input is effective in narrowing the urban-rural income gap and achieving a Pareto improvement state in both direct and indirect ways. However, the effect of education input at different stages varies. In particular, the impact of compulsory education on improving inequality is more significant than the other education levels. With adjustment for the macroeconomic slowdown, raising fiscal expenditures on education can improve potential economic growth by promoting human capital accumulation and labor productivity in the long run. In all, education input can promote labor migration and narrow the urban-rural income gap, which is conducive to alleviating the contradiction of the structural transformation lag in employment and achieving inclusive growth targets.

And new urbanization emphasizes the coordinated development of urban and rural areas,and it provides new idea for constructing new relationship between urban and rural areas and solving issues of agriculture. This paper sees new urbanization as background,takes Jinan City as an example to study the constraints on coordinated development of urban and rural areas,path choice,urban and rural primary missions. The strategies and measures are finally put forward. This paper will help to solve the problem of the uncoordinated development of urban and rural areas,enrich the research content of urban and rural areas,and provide a reference for other cities.
文摘China is a country with a long history of agricultural development,the tr adition of bureaucratic administra-tion and economic management system s for the social development.In its t ransition from traditional society to modern soci-ety during the past 50years,the rela tions between rural areas and urban a reas have been kept abnormal if considered from the point of view of the modernized co untries.Today,China still has its more than 70percent of population,bu t limited capital,lower technology and underdeveloped culture,in the rural areas.This unbalance forms not only the o bstacles to China’s modernization of social development,but also the barriers to th e society,economy and environment sustainable devel-opment.This paper focuses on the dis cussion about the coordinate develo pment of the relations between rural and urban in the past 50years,and the authors hold that only has the abnormal relation between the two areas been corrected,could China’s future development of natio nal economy be successful.

文摘Objective:To determine health systems-related,familial,and cultural factors which influence the delivery and uptake of measles vaccination in Indonesia.Methods:Logistic regression analysis of data collected during the 2007 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey was undertaken by the authors to investigate these factors.The 2007 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey dataset is a nationally representative,randomly sampled survey containing 15 065 children aged between 9 and 59 months.Results:72.8%of children had received the measles vaccine.Vaccination coverage was similar for males and females;however,coverage was higher amongst urban children,80.1%,compared to 68.5%in rural areas.The key findings of the regression analysis were congruent with the results of previous research targeting vaccination coverage.After controlling for all other factors,maternal age,maternal education,wealth, the use of a skilled birth attendant,and postnatal check-ups were positively and significantly (P【 0.01) correlated with measles vaccination.The number of children per household was negatively correlated(P【0.01).Conclusions:In order to enhance measles vaccination coverage in Indonesia,delivery to,and uptake by,rural and low socio-economic populations require substantial improvements.Mass health education and health systems improvements are also required.
文摘This study investigated the attitudes of primary school teachers from the selected rural and urban areas in China toward inclusive education.The results indicated that,(1)teachers’attitudes are composed of three dimensions:positive and negative effects of inclusion,and benefits of segregated special education;(2)most surveyed teachers demonstrated positive attitudes toward segregated special school education while supporting inclusion;(3)rural and urban teachers held significantly different attitudes toward inclusion,and urban teachers were more negative toward inclusion than rural ones;and(4)teachers’attitudes were not essentially influenced by resources,teaching years or relevant special education training.
