With intensifying global climate change,humanity is confronted with unparalleled environmental challenges and risks.This study employs the staggered difference-in-difference model to examine the relationship between c...With intensifying global climate change,humanity is confronted with unparalleled environmental challenges and risks.This study employs the staggered difference-in-difference model to examine the relationship between climate policy and green innovation in the corporate financialization context.Using Chinese-listed company data from 2008 to 2020,our analysis reveals a favorable correlation between China’s carbon emission trading policy(CCTP)and advancements in green innovation.Furthermore,we find that the level of corporate financialization moderates this correlation,diminishing the driving effect of CCTP on green innovation.Additionally,results of heterogeneity analysis show that this moderating consequence is more evident in non-state owned and low-digitization enterprises compared with state-owned and high-digitization ones.Our findings contribute to the existing literature by clarifying the interaction between CCTP,green innovation,and corporate financialization.Our research provides valuable insights for policymakers and stakeholders seeking to strengthen climate policies and encourages green innovation in different types of businesses.展开更多

From the micro-perspective of corporate in...Vigorous anti-corruption campaigns launched by China since the 18 th CPC National Congress have produced an extensive impact on China's political and economic landscapes. From the micro-perspective of corporate innovation, this paper investigates the effects of anti-corruption efforts on corporate behavior. This paper has found that seeking political connections and promoting innovation are mutually substitutable means of development for firms. Anti-corruption efforts have increased the costs for firms to seek political connections and thus raised the incentives for corporate innovation. After the launch of anti-corruption policies, the level of corporate innovation significantly increased. In particular, R&D spending increased significantly for firms previously with political connections. Anti-corruption efforts have promoted overall corporate innovation. This paper has also found that the effects of anti-corruption efforts on corporate innovation are heterogeneous at the provincial level. For firms previously with political connections in provinces with a high anti-corruption intensity, the level of innovation increased more significantly. Given the controversies concerning the effects of the recent round of anticorruption campaign on economic growth, this paper provides new evidence that anticorruption efforts are favorable to corporate innovation. Considering the endogenous problem, this paper has adopted the policy experiment of anti-corruption efforts after the 18 th CPC National Congress and the difference-in-differences(DID) technique.展开更多

In this study, the author theoretically demonstrates how internal governance mechanisms interact to affect innovation, such as internal control, monitoring and compensation contracts. Governance mechanisms are determined by firm characteristics. The "best" governance structures that can be adopted universally do not exist. However, innovative firms often share similar characteristics, and they adopt similar governance mechanisms to facilitate innovation. The ultimate purpose of such internal governance mechanism that facilitates innovation is to prevent managers' myopia, and this paper concludes 5 different roles in internal governance mechanism that facilitate corporate innovation behavior.展开更多

Data included eight semi-structured interviews with sustainability managers from six skiareas in Colorado and quantitative data from online surveys (N = 264) distributed to employees from five Coloradoski resorts. A sustainability framework coupled with diffusion of innovations theory linked the qualitative andquantitative data. The strongest indicator of corporate sustainability was innovativeness as it relates to leadership.General agreement between the two study groups pertained to drivers and barriers of corporate sustainability fromthe external environment, including competition, customer demand, and government regulations as well as therole of company size and financial structure. While sustainability managers considered innovation characteristicsas important factors affecting corporate sustainability, the second study group (employees not holdingsustainability-related positions) felt those items affected just one dimension of sustainability. Internalcommunication within the resort and the possible lack of understanding of corporate sustainability at allorganizational levels was a concern. Challenges and opportunities for organizational change towards corporatesustainability were noted from the mixed-methods approach.展开更多

This study was empirical, quantitative, descriptive, exploratory, explicative and transversal in nature. The studied population consisted of executives who attended the training sessions of the Institute of Public Accountants of Nuevo Le6n (IPANL). For this study, a sample of 134 executives was selected by convenience sampling. For the data collection, an instrument of 94 indicators was elaborated and the indicators within the study were the following: 31 indicators for strategic planning, 15 indicators for innovation, 24 indicators for competitive advantage, and 24 indicators for corporate performance. The null hypotheses were analyzed using multivariate analysis denominated as a structural equation model, utilizing maximum plausibility methods. According to the selected structural equation indexes, the obtained results show that the proposed model had an acceptable goodness of fit index.展开更多

This paper focuses on the innovation capacities of the senior corporate managers of listed companies in China and the complex relationship between firm performance and the operating environment to study and analyze the management and development of Chinese enterprises. Through relevant theoretical analysis and development of research hypotheses using the A-shares in Shanghai and Shenzhen listed companies announced in 2007 and 2008, the authors design an empirical model. The study found that in Chinese listed companies, the higher the innovation spirit of senior corporate managers, the better their business performances; the stronger the dynamic and complexity of the operating environment, the more the corporate managers' innovation ability will be developed.展开更多

文摘It is well known to us that people are the core force of the survival and development of enterprise, and on the other hand, enterprise is both an organization of individuals and an interest organization which is based on clear development goals and the distributing and integrating existing. Culture is the temperament and style reflecting of the spirit and the consciousness of human beings and even the individuals. Enterprise is an organization which unites the established development goals and the individuals. Naturally, this humanistic enterprise groups should have a certain "temperament" and "style." Compared with the persons, this temperament and style, is the result of the collision, agitation, adjustments, tuning and optimized, representing the collective personality. Instead leaded by the individual consciousness, it is collective, organizational personality and style expressed by individual deeds and awareness and. In other words, corporate culture is a long-term production and business activities in the form of consciousness, and the comprehensive reflection of the business purpose, values and ethical conduct abided by the majority of employees.

The increasingly role of corporate culture on the survival and development of enterprises becomes the cornerstone of competitiveness and the key factor of success of enterprise. In this case, the study, use and practice of corporate culture under the new situation, are very important. Creating a people-oriented and innovation -oriented corporate culture, can provide the most effective and the most long-lasting platform to a strategic enterprise managemem. Throughout the history of the development of successful companies, all have a protbund precipitation of their own culture. But corporate culture is the most obscure area of business management, so far the most challenging part to each enterprise, it is reflected in the values, morale and the way businesses communicate, but also in the staff behavioral habits. This shows that the corporate culture is closely related to the survival and development of enterprises, determining the survival of enterprises. Building enterprise culture naturally has become a hot topic, but also an indispensable factor to establish a scientifically administrative system.
文摘New research and development(R&D)institutions are an important part of the national innovation system,playing an important role in promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.In recent years,new R&D institutions have gradually become the driving force of innovation-driven development in China.Taking new R&D institutions in Zhejiang Province as the research object,this paper studies the internal talent training path and performance evaluation mechanism of new R&D institutions in Zhejiang Province by using the literature research method,comparison method,case verification method,and other methods.The investigation results show that there are problems such as lack of material and spiritual support and neglect of the absorption of local talents in the internal talent training,and there are problems such as unclear standards,insufficient data,and opaque processes in the performance evaluation mechanism,which greatly affect the establishment and improvement of the performance evaluation mechanism.Given the above problems,this paper puts forward a forward-looking,oriented,flexible,and compatible talent training path and performance evaluation mechanism,hoping to optimize the effective internal talent training path of new R&D institutions,improve the evaluation performance,and promote healthy development of new R&D institutions in Zhejiang Province.
文摘The advancement of digital innovation requires a distinctive organizational structure,different from those for non-digital innovation.The research literature,however,has confused appropriate forms of organization for digital innovation with those for non-digital innovation.Organizational heterogeneity,which is often overlooked in research on digital innovation,determines a country’s core digital competencies.From a holistic perspective of corporate organization,industrial organization and innovation system,this study has identified the unique organizational structure for digital innovation in China by comparing organizational structures for digital and non-digital innovations.In terms of corporate organization,Chinese companies have intensified internal competition and cooperation to incentivize digital innovation in areas with mid-and short-term goals of profitability.In terms of industrial organization,multi-platform enterprises and diverse use cases may enhance economies of range and multi-path exploration of digital innovation.In terms of innovation system,administrative intervention in specific domains of the digital economy may help to shape expectations of innovation entities and coordinate their behaviors.
文摘Mixed methods were used to gain an understanding of Colorado ski resort employees' perceptions of diffusion ofsustainability innovation. Data included eight semi-structured interviews with sustainability managers from six skiareas in Colorado and quantitative data from online surveys (N = 264) distributed to employees from five Coloradoski resorts. A sustainability framework coupled with diffusion of innovations theory linked the qualitative andquantitative data. The strongest indicator of corporate sustainability was innovativeness as it relates to leadership.General agreement between the two study groups pertained to drivers and barriers of corporate sustainability fromthe external environment, including competition, customer demand, and government regulations as well as therole of company size and financial structure. While sustainability managers considered innovation characteristicsas important factors affecting corporate sustainability, the second study group (employees not holdingsustainability-related positions) felt those items affected just one dimension of sustainability. Internalcommunication within the resort and the possible lack of understanding of corporate sustainability at allorganizational levels was a concern. Challenges and opportunities for organizational change towards corporatesustainability were noted from the mixed-methods approach.
文摘This study investigates the relationship between corporate R&D and creditor value.The empirical results suggest that such relationship is contingent on the situations of existing R&D investment and institutional arrangement of corporate governance.We find that R&D investment increases creditor value when insufficient R&D threatens survival,while reduces creditor value when such threat is mitigated.Moreover,such curvilinear relationship is mainly driven by firms with relatively weak managerial entrenchment.Hypotheses are tested with 98 U.S.listed firms in manufacturing sector over 2001-2007.
文摘This study sought to answer the following question: The empirical model in which strategic planning affects innovation and competitive advantage and how does this influence corporate performance perceived by the CEOs of companies in Monterrey, Nuevo LEon, does this have an acceptable outcome in regards of the theoretical fit model? This study was empirical, quantitative, descriptive, exploratory, explicative and transversal in nature. The studied population consisted of executives who attended the training sessions of the Institute of Public Accountants of Nuevo Le6n (IPANL). For this study, a sample of 134 executives was selected by convenience sampling. For the data collection, an instrument of 94 indicators was elaborated and the indicators within the study were the following: 31 indicators for strategic planning, 15 indicators for innovation, 24 indicators for competitive advantage, and 24 indicators for corporate performance. The null hypotheses were analyzed using multivariate analysis denominated as a structural equation model, utilizing maximum plausibility methods. According to the selected structural equation indexes, the obtained results show that the proposed model had an acceptable goodness of fit index.
文摘Senior corporate managers' innovation ability and spirit are very important in the growth process of corporate business development. This paper focuses on the innovation capacities of the senior corporate managers of listed companies in China and the complex relationship between firm performance and the operating environment to study and analyze the management and development of Chinese enterprises. Through relevant theoretical analysis and development of research hypotheses using the A-shares in Shanghai and Shenzhen listed companies announced in 2007 and 2008, the authors design an empirical model. The study found that in Chinese listed companies, the higher the innovation spirit of senior corporate managers, the better their business performances; the stronger the dynamic and complexity of the operating environment, the more the corporate managers' innovation ability will be developed.

The article explains the framework of harmonious governance based on the theory of corporate behavior, and holds that shareholder value and stakeholder value is as important as, combination of incentive-compatible and mutually compatible, interaction between market governance and relationship governance, is a major innovation path of harmonious corporate governance by stakeholders.
