In the analysis, a one-dimensional rough sea sur- face is numerically generated with an ocean waveheight spectrum for a given wind velocity. A two-layered medium is then generated by adding a thin oil layer on the simulated rough sea surface. The electric fields backscattered from the sea surface with two-layered medium are computed with the method of moments (MoM), and the backscattering coefficients are statistically obtained with N independent samples for each oil-spilled surface using the Monte-Carlo technique for various conditions of surface roughness, oil-layer thickness, frequency, polarization and incidence angle. The numerical simulation results are compared with theoretical models for clean sea surfaces and SAR images of an off-spilled sea surface caused by the Hebei (Hebei province, China) Spirit oil tanker in 2007. Further, conditions for better oil spill extraction are sought by the numerical simulation on the effects of wind speed and oil-layer thickness at different inci- dence angles on the backscattering coefficients.展开更多

The nonlinear elastic impedance inversion method based on a fast Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method is proposed in this paper, combining conventional MCMC method based on global optimization with a preconditioned conjugate gradient (PCG) algorithm based on local optimization, so this method does not depend strongly on the initial model. It converges to the global optimum quickly and efficiently on the condition that effi- ciency and stability of inversion are both taken into consid- eration at the same time. The test data verify the feasibility and robustness of the method, and based on this method, we extract the effective pore-fluid bulk modulus, which is applied to reservoir fluid identification and detection, and consequently, a better result has been achieved.展开更多

We have derived an expansion of the eigenvalue of the energy for a system and proved that the value of the energy calculated using the traditional fixed-node quantum Monte Carlo method is only the zero order approximation of the eigenvalue of the energy. But when using our novel method, in the case of only increasing less computing amounts (<1%), we can obtain conveniently the first order approximation, second order approximation, and so on. We have calculated the values of the zero, first and second approximation (0, 1 and 2) of the energies of 11A1 state of CH2, 1Ag (C4h, acet) state of C8 and the ground-state of H2O using this novel method. The results indicate that for 11A1 state of CH2, 1Ag (C4h, acet) state of C8 and the ground-state of H2O it needs only the second order approximation to obtain electronic correlation energy with over 97%. This demonstrates that this novel method is very excellent in both the computing accuracy and the amount of calculation required.展开更多
