The effect of mass ratio of CaO to V2O5 on the recovery of vanadium was studied. The sintered samples were leached by H2SO4 solution and characterized by XRD, XPS, SEM and EDS techniques. Compared with the roasting process, the energy saving effect of the proposed process was also discussed. The results showed that vanadium-rich phases were formed and vanadium mainly existed in the forms of CaV2O5 and Ca2V2O7. The formation mechanism of calcium vanadates in the molten vanadium bearing slag was explained. The XRD and XPS results implied that there was a limit to the oxidation reaction of V(IV) to V(V) under the high temperatures even though oxygen-supply was sufficient. An increase in the CaO content led to an increase in the formation of Ca2V2O7. About 90%of the vanadium recovery was obtained under optimal experiment conditions (mass ratio of CaO to V2O5 of 0.6, particle size 120 to 150μm, leaching temperature 90 °C, leaching time 2 h, H2SO4 concentration 20%, liquid to solid ratio 5:1 mL/g, stirring speed 500 r/min). The energy of 1.85×106 kJ could be saved in every 1000 kg of vanadium bearing slag using the proposed process from the theoretical calculation results. Recovery of vanadium from the molten vanadium bearing slag and utilisation of its heat energy are important not only for saving metal resources, but also for energy saving and emission reduction.展开更多

Moreover, for each type of steel, the AAS extract contributes to a higher pitting corrosion resistance compared with the OPC extract in the presence of chloride ions, likely because of the formation of flocculent precipitates on the steel surface.展开更多

The results show that the predicted values of activity of CaO, Al2O3 and SiO2 are in reasonably agreement with experimental data in some ranges of their concentrations which are about x1 〈0.25 for CaO, x2=0.05-0.55 for Al2O3 and x3=0.03-0.85 for SiO2. This further shows that MIVM requires only two binary parameters for each sub-binary system to predict activities of all components in a multicomponent solution and is the superior alternative in a molten slag.展开更多

By measuring the relationships among the viscosity, the shear stress and the shear rate of molten slags with different Ti C contents at different temperatures, the rheological constitutive equations were established along with the rheological parameters; in addition, the non-Newtonian fluid types of the molten slags were determined. The results indicated that, with increasing Ti C content, the viscosity of the molten slag tended to increase. If the Ti C content was less than 2wt%, the molten slag exhibited the Newtonian fluid behavior when the temperature was higher than the critical viscosity temperature of the molten slag. In contrast, the molten slag exhibited the non-Newtonian pseudoplastic fluid characteristic and the shear thinning behavior when the temperature was less than the critical viscosity temperature. However, if the Ti C content exceeded 4wt%, the molten slag produced the yield stress and exhibited the Bingham and plastic pseudoplastic fluid behaviors when the temperature was higher and lower than the critical viscosity temperature, respectively. When the Ti C content increased further, the yield stress of the molten slag increased and the shear thinning phenomenon became more obvious.展开更多

The corrosion and penetration resistance of MgO-CaO materials is enhanced with the increase of CaO content in specimens. It can be explained that, with increase of CaO content, the specimens reacted will+ slag form higher melting point minerals of C3S ant C2S, creating a dense surface layer, which stopped others from penetrating further. Thus , the corrosion and penetration resistame was improved. No matter what kinds of slag were chosen, the depth of penetration decreased will+ increase of CaO con, tent.展开更多

To clarify the effect of funnel glass addition on the degradation of magnesia-chromite refractories by ZnO-containing fayalite slag, the corrosion behavior of magnesia-chromite refractories in lead smelting slags with different funnel glass additions from 0wt% to 40wt% was tested. Scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDS) was used to acquire the microstructural information of the worn refractory samples. Experimental results showed that the corrosion of magnesia-chromite refractory consisted predominantly of the dissolution of MgO into slag. ZnO and FeO reacted with periclase and chromite to form (Zn,Fe,Mg)O solid solution and (Zn,Fe,Mg)(Fe,Al,Cr)2O4 spinel, respectively. With the addition of funnel glass, the solubility of MgO increased whereas ZnO levels remained stable, thereby resulting in a reduced Mg content and an elevated Zn and Fe content in the (Zn,Fe,Mg)O solid solution and the (Zn,Fe,Mg)(Fe,Al,Cr)2O4 spinel. Considering the stability of the (Zn,Fe,Mg)O solid solution layer and the penetration depth of the slag, the optimal funnel glass addition for lead smelting was found to be 20wt%.展开更多

The corrosion resistance and penetration resistance of speci-mens decrease with the increase of CaO content. This may be caused by the formation of C3S and C2S during the reactions between specimens and the slag. The formed C3S and C2S can restrain the further penetration to the matrix. The higher the CaO content, the more the C2S or C3S formed, the lower the porosity of the speci-mens, and the lower the penetration depth and corrosion rate. The corrosion resistance to AOD slag is better than that to VOD slag, because the reaction between AOD slag and the matrix is slighter than that between VOD slag and the matrix.展开更多

文摘Tailings from the vanadium extraction process are discarded each year as waste, which contain approximately 30 wt%of Fe.In our previous work,we extracted Fe and Mn from vanadium slag, and Fe and Mn existed in the form of FeCl_(2) and MnCl_(2) after chlorination by NH_(4) Cl to achieve effective and green usage of waste containing Fe and Mn.In this work, square wave voltammetry(SWV)and cyclic voltammetry(CV)were applied to investigate the electrochemical behaviors of Fe^(2+)and Mn^(2+)in Na Cl-KCl melt at 800℃.The reduction processes of Fe^(2+)and Mn^(2+)were found to involve one step. The diffusion coefficients of FeCl_(2) and Mn Cl_(2) in molten salt of eutectic mixtures Na Cl-KCl molten salt were measured. The electrodeposition of Fe and Mn were performed using two electrodes at a constant cell voltage. The Mn/Fe mass ratio of the electrodeposited product in Na Cl-KCl-2.13 wt%FeCl_(2)-1.07 wt%Mn Cl_(2) was 0.0625 at 2.3 V.After the electrolysis of NaCl-KCl-2.13 wt%Fe Cl_(2)-1.07 wt%MnCl_(2) melted at 2.3 V,the electrolysis was again started under 3.0 V and the Mn/Fe mass ratio of the electrodeposited product was 36.4.This process provides a novel method to effectively separate Fe and Mn from simulated chlorinated vanadium slag.

文摘The oxygen-ion-permeable membrane galvanic short-circuit method has been developed, in which pure metal was directly extracted from the molten oxide slag, and no external voltage is applied. The galvanic cell employed in the experiment was as follows: graphite rod|[O]Fe+C saturation|ZrO2(MgO)|(FeO)(slag)|Fe rod. The reduction current in the galvanic cell consisted of an external short-circuit current and an interior short-circuit current in the oxygen-ion-permeable membrane. The real-time variation of external circuit reduction ratio of the molten slag could be obtained from the curve of the external circuit current to the time.

文摘A novel thermodynamic model-the molecular interaction volume model (MIVM) which can be reduced to the Flory-Huggins equation of polymer solution was employed for the prediction of component activities in the ternary molten aluminosilicate slag CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 at different temperatures. This further shows that MIVM requires only two binary parameters for each sub-binary system to predict activities of all components in a multicomponent solution and is the superior alternative in a molten slag.
文摘The molten slag in smelting reduction with iron bath has peculiar behaviour for its high FeO concentration. Slag foaming is effected by the concentration and reduction rate of FeO, basicity of slag and temperature. Addition of granulated coke can greatly decrease slag foaming extent in the process of smelting reduction with iron bath. The anti-foaming capacity of granulated coke is the best when the ratio of coke used for coke layer to total coke used in smelting reduction is controlled at about 20%.

文摘Experimental studies on the rheological properties of a Ca O–Si O2–Al2O3–Mg O–Ti O2–(Ti C) blast furnace(BF) slag system were conducted using a high-temperature rheometer to reveal the non-Newtonian behavior of heterogeneous titanium-bearing molten slag. When the Ti C content increased further, the yield stress of the molten slag increased and the shear thinning phenomenon became more obvious.
文摘Magnesiu-Calcia materials containing 22 -53 wt% CaO hare been investigated Jot refinery slag corrosion and penetration resistance by Scanning Electron Microscopy ( SEM) .nd XRD. No matter what kinds of slag were chosen, the depth of penetration decreased will+ increase of CaO con, tent.

文摘An efficient approach for lead extraction from waste funnel glass through the lead smelting process has been proposed. Considering the stability of the (Zn,Fe,Mg)O solid solution layer and the penetration depth of the slag, the optimal funnel glass addition for lead smelting was found to be 20wt%.

文摘The service life of refractory brick in the slag tapping hole of the entrained flow gasifier was significantly lower than that in other locations. It was critically important to study the corrosion mechanism of refractory brick in the slag tapping hole for guiding industrial production.Considering the complex flow field in the slag tapping hole, the influence of gas velocity and temperature fluctuation on the service life of refractory brick was investigated in this study. The results showed that the slag flow characteristics periodically changed with the gas temperature and velocity fluctuations. The brick corrosion rate increased with the decrease of fluctuation frequency.Compared with the gas-phase velocity fluctuation, the gasphase temperature fluctuation had a more significant influence on the brick corrosion rate. When the fluctuation frequency was 0.01 Hz and the gas temperature fluctuation amplitude was 200 K,the corrosion rate of refractory bricks increased by 25%.It could be concluded that the fluctuation of gas-phase temperature was the main cause for the low service life of refractory bricks in the tapping hole.
文摘The components of the equipment for processing the Al melts into the molded parts can be markedly corroded by the molten Al. The dipping tests were conducted in a 700℃ A356 melt for 1 to 21 h at intervals of 3 h. The damage of the coated steel was eva...
文摘Corrosion resistance and penetration resistance of MgO-CaO materials with different CaO contents (22%, 42%, 49%, 53%, in mass)to refining AOD slag or VOD slag were investigated using static crucible technique by visual observation, SEM and XRD. The corrosion resistance to AOD slag is better than that to VOD slag, because the reaction between AOD slag and the matrix is slighter than that between VOD slag and the matrix.
