The increasing demand for iron ore in the world causes the continuous exhaustion of magnetite resources.The utilization of high-phosphorus iron ore becomes the focus.With calcium carbonate(CaCO_(3)),calcium chloride(CaCl_(2)),or calcium sulfate(CaSO_(4))as additive,the process of direct reduction and phosphorus removal of high-phosphorus iron ore(phosphorus mainly occurred in the form of Fe_(3)PO_(7) and apatite)was studied by using the technique of direct reductiongrinding-magnetic separation.The mechanism of calcium compounds to reduce phosphorus was investigated from thermodynamics,iron metallization degree,mineral composition and microstructure.Results showed that Fe_(3)PO_(7) was reduced to elemental phosphorus without calcium compounds.The iron-phosphorus alloy was generated by react of metallic iron and phosphorus,resulting in high phosphorus in reduced iron products.CaCO_(3) promoted the reduction of hematite and magnetite,and improved iron metallization degree,but inhibited the growth of metallic iron particles.CaCl_(2) strengthened the growth of iron particles.However,the recovery of iron was reduced due to the formation of volatile FeCl_(2).CaSO_(4) promoted the growth of iron particles,but the recovery of iron was drastically reduced due to the formation of non-magnetic FeS.CaCO_(3),CaCl_(2) or CaSO_(4) could react with Fe_(3)PO_(7) to form calcium phosphate(Ca_(3)(PO_(4))_(2)).With the addition of CaCO_(3),Ca_(3)(PO_(4))_(2) was closely combined with fine iron particles.It is difficult to separate iron and phosphorus by grinding and magnetic separation,resulting in the reduced iron product phosphorus content of 0.18%.In the presence of CaCl_(2) or CaSO_(4),the boundary between the generated Ca_(3)(PO_(4))_(2) and the metallic iron particles was obvious.Phosphorus was removed by grinding and magnetic separation,and the phosphorus content in the reduced iron product was less than 0.10%. 展开更多

In 2 experiments, 48 weanling (initial BW: 13.5 ± 2.4 kg, Exp. 1) were used to determine effects of a novel bacterial 6-phytase and 24 growing pigs (initial BW: 36.2 ± 4.0 kg, Exp. 2) expressed in Aspergillus oryzae on the apparent total tract digestibility (ATTD) of phosphorus and calcium in corn-soybean meal diets fed to weanling and growing pigs. In Exp. 1 and 2, pigs were randomly allotted to 6 dietary treatments using a randomized complete block design and a balanced 2 period changeover design, respectively. In both experiments, 6 diets were formulated. The positive control diet was a corn-soybean meal diet with added inorganic phosphorus (Exp. 1:0.42 and 0.86% standardized total tract digestible phosphorus and total calcium, respectively; Exp. 2:0.32 and 0.79% standardized total tract digestible phosphorus and total calcium, respectively). A negative control diet and 4 diets with the novel phytase (Ronozyme HiPhos, DSM Nutritional Products Inc., Parsippany, N J) added to the negative control diet at levels of 500, 1,000, 2,000, and 4,000 phytase units (FYT)/kg were also formulated. In Exp. 1, the ATTD of phosphorus was greater (P 〈 0.01) for the positive control diet (60.5%) than for the negative control diet (40.5%), but increased (linear and quadratic, P 〈 0.01) as phytase was added to the negative control diet (40.5% vs. 61.6%, 65.1%, 68.7%, and 68.0%). The breakpoint for the ATTD of phosphorus (68.4%) was reached at a phytase inclusion level of 1,016 FYT/kg. In Exp. 2, the ATTD of phosphorus was greater (P〈 0.01) for the positive control diet (59.4%) than for the negative control diet (39.8%) and increased (linear and quadratic, P〈 0.01) as phytase was added to the negative control diet (39.8% vs. 58.1%, 65.4%, 69.1%, and 72.8%). The breakpoint for the ATTD of phosphorus (69.1%) was reached at a phytase inclusion level of 801 FYT/kg. in conclusion, the novel bacterial 6-phytase improved the ATTD of phosphorus and calcium in both weanling and growing pigs. The optimum level of inclusion for this phytase is 800 to 1,000 FYT/kg of complete feed to maximize ATTD of phosphorus and calcium in weanling and growing pigs 展开更多

Effects of Serum Calcium and Phosphorus under Different Feeding Conditions on Production Traits of Young Xinjiang Brown Bulls

[Objective] In the Xinjiang new era from October 2012 to February 2013, agricultural and animal husbandry Co. Ltd. feedlot Yining Tuogelake village used tethered and scattered feeding methods to conduct fattening young Xinjiang brown cattle experiment. [Method] The 16-month-old young Xinjiang brown bulls were se- lected totaling 68 heads, divided into scattered group and tethered group. Male claves were taken as test subjects from October to February of following year and body conformation linear evaluation were made, followed by measurement of body size indexes and Regular collection of Blood samples. [Result] In the two feeding ways, scattered group feeding improved the ADG of youth Xinjiang brown cattle bull calf (P〈0.01), and the whole calf ADG 845.58g was significantly higher than that in tethered group at 619.11g, increasing by 36.58%; furthermore, scattered group in the December, January and February average daily weight gain was significantly higher compared with the tethered group at 13.61%, 32.32%, 53.47%, respectively. Scattered group feeding significantly increased the young calf serum phosphorus content (P〈0.01), higher than the tethered group at 0.62%, 7.89%, 14.29% in February, December and January respectively. But the tethered feeding young cattle serum phosphorus content gradually declined. Of the two groups, male calf serum calcium content had little effects on the serum calcium with insignificant difference (P〉0.05). Bulls by scattered feeding method was proved faster and better in the whole growth period, in terms of body height, body length, circumference, leg cir- cumference, rump length, waist high, sciatic wide, hip width basically in the contin- ued growth trend. [Conclusion] Scattered feeding can significantly improve the young Xinjiang brown cattle's daily gain, and accelerate the body height, heart girth and body length etc body growth. Magnesium(Mg) and its alloys have emerged as a favored candidate for bio-regenerative medical implants due to their superior biocompatibility, biodegradability and the elastic modulus close to that of human bone. Unfortunately, the rapid and uncontrollable degradation rate of Mg alloys in chloride-rich body microenvironments limits their clinical orthopedic applications. Recently, Calcium Phosphate(Ca-P)biomaterials, especially Hydroxyapatite(HA), have been broadly applied in the surface functional modification of metal-based biomaterials attributed to their excellent bioactivity and biocompatibility. Hydrothermal modification of Ca-P coatings on Mg alloys has been extensively exploited by researchers for its significant superiorities in controlling coating structure and improving interfacial bonding strength for better osseointegration and corrosion resistance. This work focuses on the up-to-the-minute advances in Ca-P coatings on the surface of Mg and its alloys via hydrothermal methods, including the strategies and mechanisms of hydrothermal modification. Herein, we are inclined to share some feasible and attractive hydrothermal surface modification strategies. From the perspectives of hydrothermal manufacturing technique innovation and coating structure optimization, we evaluate how to foster the corrosion resistance, coating bonding strength, osseointegration and antibacterial properties of Mg alloys with Ca-P coatings synthesized by hydrothermal method. The challenges and future perspectives on the follow-up exploration of Mg alloys for orthopedic applications are also elaborately proposed. 展开更多

Objective: Bisphosphonates were widely used with the rate of malignant tumor with bone metastases increasing rapidly. The aim of this study was to evaluate zoledronic acid and pamidronic acid on treating ostealgia of malignant tumor with bone metastases and serum calcium, phosphorus and alkaline phosphorus movement. Methods: One Hundred cancer patients with bone metastases were diagnosed according to pathological and imaging methods. After zoledronic acid or pamidronic acid intravenous infusion one and two months, ostealgia degree, serum calcium, serum phosphorus and alkaline phosphorus were observed before bisphosphonates treatment, one and two months after treatment, respectively. Results: Ostealgia degree did not change significantly after diphosphonates treatment from one to two months (P 〉 0.05). The linear correlation between serum calcium and serum phosphorus on bone metastases cancer patients before therapy was dismissed after bisphosphonates treatment one month and did not recover in two months. The incidence of hypo-calcium after diphosphonate treatment one month (54%) and two months (56%) were significantly increased than that before treatment (36%) (X2 = 6.55, P = 0.011; X2 = 8.05, P = 0.005). Serum calcium and serum phosphorus were both decreased after treatment one month (t = 4.39, P = 0.000; t = 2.50, P = 0.014) and two months (t = 4.32, P = 0.000; t = 2.49, P = 0.010). There had no difference between zoledronic acid and pamidronic acid on treating of ostealgia and serum calcium and phosphorus changing. Conclusion: Zoledronic acid and pamidronic acid can relief ostealgia of cancer patients with bone metastases and induce hypo-calcium, break the linear relationship between calcium and phosphorus. There have no difference between zoledronic acid and pamidronic acid on treating ostealgia and inducing hypo-calcium and hypo-phosphorus. 展开更多

Background:Phosphorus(P) supplementation is costly and can result in excess P excretion.This study investigated the effects of reducing dietary P on milk production and P excretion in dairy cows over a full lactation.Method:Forty-five multiparous Holstein dairy cows were divided into 15 blocks according to expected calving date and previous milk yield,and assigned randomly to one of the three dietary treatments:0.37,0.47,and 0.57%P(DM basis);these P levels represent the NRC recommendations,Chinese recommendations,and the amount of dietary P commonly fed by Chinese dairy farmers,respectively.Average daily feed intake was calculated from monthly data on feed offered and refused.Milk yields of individual cows were recorded weekly,and milk samples were taken for analysis of protein,fat,solids-not-fat,lactose,and somatic cell count.Blood samples were collected on days-6,-3,0,3,6 relative to calving,and then monthly throughout lactation,and analyzed for P and Ca concentrations.Spot samples of feces and urine were collected for 3 consecutive d during weeks 12,24,and 36,and P concentrations were analyzed.Reproduction and health data were recorded.Results:Dietary P did not affect dry matter intake or milk yield(P〉 0.10).Milk fat content was slightly higher in cows fed 0.37%P than in cows fed 0.47%P(P = 0.05).Serum concentrations of P and Ca did not reflect dietary P content(P〉 0.10).Fecal and urinary P both declined linearly(P〈 0.05) as dietary P decreased from 0.57 to0.37%.Fecal P content was 25%less when dietary P was 0.37%compared to 0.57%.Health events and reproductive performance were not associated with dietary P content(P〉 0.05).Conclusions:Lowering dietary P from 0.57 to 0.37%did not negatively affect milk production,but did significantly reduce P excretion into environment. 展开更多

Objective:To investigate the calcium and phosphorus contents of four domestic animals used as sources of meat in Nigeria.Methods:The calcium contents of the body parts of the animals were determined using atomic absorption spectrometer.Their phosphorus contents were determined colorimetrically using the molybdenum blue method.Results:The calcium and phosphorus contents were significantly higher in the bone samples than in the other animal parts investigated (P【0.05).The calcium contents of all the edible parts were higher in chicken than in the other animals.High calcium and phosphorus contents were detected in the faeces of chicken and goat, and that of cattle and goat,respectively.Low calcium and phosphorus contents were detected in the urine samples.Calcium:phosphorus ratios calculated for the bones of chicken,cattle and goat were satisfactory.Conclusions:In conclusion,calcium and phosphorus contents of the animal parts vary significantly and their relative contents may be related to the animal’s diet.Chicken parts may be the preferred dietary source of these minerals.This study highlights the need for routine investigation of the mineral contents of food,which is necessary for proper nutritional guidelines. 展开更多

This experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of dietary calcium(Ca)or phosphorus(P)deficiency on bone development and related Ca or P metabolic utilization parameters of broilers from 22 to 42 days of age based on our previous study,which indicated that dietary Ca or P deficiency impaired the bone development by regulating related Ca or P metabolic utilization parameters of broilers from 1 to 21 days of age.A total of 504 one-day-old Arbor Acres male broilers were randomly assigned to 1 of 4 treatments with 7 replicates in a completely randomized design,and fed the normal control and Ca-or P-deficient diets from 1 to 21 days of age.At 22 days of age,the broilers were further fed the normal control diet(0.90%Ca+0.35%non-phytate P(NPP)),the P-deficient diet(0.90%Ca+0.18%NPP),the Ca-deficient diet(0.30%Ca+0.35%NPP)or the Ca and P-deficient diet(0.30%Ca+0.18%NPP),respectively.The results showed that dietary Ca or P deficiency decreased(P<0.05)tibia bone mineral density(BMD),bone breaking strength(BBS),ash content,tibia ash Ca content and serum P content on days 28 and 42,but increased(P<0.05)tibia alkaline phosphatase(ALP)activity of broilers on day 42 compared with the control group.Furthermore,the broilers fed the P-deficient diet had the lowest(P<0.05)tibia BMD,BBS,ash content,serum P content and the highest(P<0.05)serum Ca content on day 28 compared with those fed the Ca-deficient or Ca and P-deficient diets.The results from the present study indicated that the bone development and related Ca or P metabolic utilization parameters of broilers were the most sensitive to dietary P deficiency,followed by dietary Ca deficiency or Ca and P-deficiency;dietary Ca or P deficiency impaired the bone development possibly by regulating serum Ca and P contents as well as tibia Ca content and ALP activity of broilers from 22 to 42 days of age. 展开更多

A pot experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of cow dung, rice husks, calcium chloride and gypsum on soil reclamation and compare the effect of organic and inorganic amendments on soil reclamation during the period of 5th March to 20th April, 2017. The experiment was laid to fit a completely randomized design (CRD) with seven treatments [Reference soil (T0), Cow dung (T1), Rice husk (T2), Gypsum (T3), Calcium chloride (T4), Cow dung + Rice husk (T5) and Gypsum + Calcium chloride (T6)] each having three replications for this experiment. After incubation (45 days), the laboratory investigation was carried out in the Soil, Water and Environment Discipline, Khulna University, Khulna, Bangladesh. Results indicate that the individual or combined effect of gypsum (T3) was more effective in changing EC and SAR. Gypsum application in combination with calcium chloride (T6) improved the soil chemical properties by reducing the EC. Among the treatment, calcium chloride (T4) had a remarkable effect in reducing sodium adsorption ratio and gypsum had a remarkable effect in reducing pH. Cow dung (T1), rice husk (T2), combination of cow dung and rice husk (T5) were less effective to reduce EC, pH and SAR. It’s measured for soils of different soil amendments varied significantly 展开更多

Effect of Wheat Middlings, Microbial Phytase, and Citric Acid on Phytate-Phosphorus, Calcium, and Protein Utilization of Broilers

A corn-soybean meal diet (CSB) (or Diet 1) containing 23% crude protein (CP) was used as the positive control, and another corn-soybean meal diet containing 21% CP and 15% wheat middlings (WM) (or Diet 2) was used as the basal diet, which was treated with four different treatments. Digestibility experiment was employed to discuss the collective effect of citric acid, and intrinsic and microbial phytase. By comparing and analyzing effects of them in the low-nutrient broiler diets, the results showed five treatments had similar effects on Tibia ash (%) (mg) (P〉0.05). Under the supplementation of bacterial phytase or citric acid, the daily body weight gain (ADG), gain:feed (G:F) ratio, and calcium (Ca) utilization were similar to that of standard-nutrient CSB diet (Diet 1) (P 〉 0.05). And, fecal phosphorus (P) and CP utilization were lower than (P〈0.05) that of Diet 1. But P utilization was significantly higher than (P〈0.01) that of Diet 1. However, the ADG, G:F, and CP utilization produced by supplementation of intrinsic phytase were lower than those of Diet 1, but other aspects were similar to those produced by Diet 1 (P〉0.05). In Diet 5, citric acid, intrinsic and bacterial phytase were added to the diet, which produced a 1.4% decrease on fecal P, a 7.2% increase on Ca utilization, which was significantly higher than (P〈0.01) those of the other four Diets, a 3.9% increase on G:F, which was similar to that of Diet 1, and a 2.3% increase on CP utilization, which was higher than (P〈0.05) that of the other three diets. In summary, the results of this study indicated that citric acid, intrinsic and bacterial phytase might have some additive or synergistic effects, and low-nutrient CSB diets with 15% wheat middlings, 750 U kg^-1 phytase, and 3% citric acid might substitute completely for standard CSB in broilers. 展开更多

The objective of this study was to determine the effect of supplying calcium salts of linseed oil (Ca-FA) rich in omega-3 (α-linolenic acid) on the production and chemical composition of milk and its nutraceutical value in dairy cows in early lactation. The trial lasted 12 weeks (2 weeks for adaptation to lipids and 10 weeks of data collection). A total of 36 Holstein dairy cows with 58.0 ± 17.0 days in milk (DIM), 594.1 ± 92.4 kg BW, 2.6 ± 1.5 parity and 38.9 ± 9.3 kg milk day<sup>-1</sup> were used in a randomized complete block design. The treatments were: 1) Omega-3 (O3): 5.2 kg DM day<span style="font-size:10px;white-space:normal;"><sup>-1</sup></span> of concentrate including 0.7 kg DM of Ca-FA + 13.5 kg DM <span style="white-space:normal;">day</span><span style="font-size:10px;white-space:normal;"><sup>-1</sup></span> of partial mixed ration (PMR) + 12 kg DM <span style="white-space:normal;">day</span><span style="font-size:10px;white-space:normal;"><sup>-1</sup></span> of alfalfa pasture (Medicago sativa) and 2) Control (C): diet similar to O3 but lipid supplementation was replaced by cracked corn grain so that the diets were isoenergetic. No treatment effect was detected (P > 0.05) for any milk production and composition variables, except for urea in milk that was slightly higher in O3 (P = 0.02). The treatment × week interaction was significant (P < 0.05) for fat yield and content, with differences (P < 0.01) only in the 3rd week of the data collection period in favor of group C (1.39 vs. 1.13 kg<span style="font-family:Verdana, Helvetica, Arial;white-space:normal;background-color:#FFFFFF;">&#183;</span><span style="white-space:normal;">day</span><span style="font-size:10px;white-space:normal;"><sup>-1</sup></span> and 3.86% vs. 3.23% for fat yield and content, respectively). Total DMI and PMR were similar (P > 0.05) between treatments. Concentrate intake was higher (P < 0.01) in C compared with O3. Pasture DMI tended (P = 0.06) to be greater for cows that received the O3 treatment compared with C. Total metabolizable energy (ME) intake was similar (P = 0.44) between treatments. No treatment effect was detected (P > 0.05) in rumen environment parameters. Supplementation with Ca-FA reduced (P < 0.05) the hypercholesterolemic fraction of milk (C12:0, C14:0 and C16:0, -13.6%, -7.4% and -9.0%, respectively). The concentration of α-linolenic acid (C<sub>18:3n-3</sub>) increased (108%, P < 0.01) in O3 group compared with group C. The absence of negative effects of lipids on the fat content of milk and ruminal fermentation suggests that protection by saponification was effective. The supplementation with Ca-FA (0.85 <span style="white-space:normal;">kg</span><span style="white-space:normal;font-family:Verdana, Helvetica, Arial;background-color:#FFFFFF;">&#183;</span><span style="white-space:normal;">day</span><span style="font-size:10px;white-space:normal;"><sup>-1</sup></span>) improved the healthy value of the milk. 展开更多

To explore the effects of the two chelating agents on the availability of calcium and phosphorus in black soil of vegetable fields and the growth of cabbage(Brassica pekinensis Rupr.)seedlings,humic acid(F)and ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid disodium salt(EDTA)were used as experiment materials,and two factors and three levels completely randomized experiment of the nine treatments was set.The experiments were carried out by soil incubation experiment and pot experiment to investigate the effects of the two chelating agents with different ratios and their interaction on soil and cabbage.The results showed that there were very significant differences among soil pH,soil available phosphorus content,cabbage biomass,calcium and phosphorus accumulation of cabbage under the interaction of the two chelating agents.It could improve pH of the soil and reduce the electric conductivity(EC)value of soil,when applied chelating agents of different proportions.The EC value of soil fluctuated during the incubation period.There were significant differences between pH and EC in the early incubation period,but there was no significant difference in the later stage.And there were significant differences between soil available calcium and available phosphorus content;there were significant differences between cabbage biomass and the accumulation of calcium and phosphorus in cabbage,and the data of F2E2 treatment were significantly higher than those of other treatments.In summary,under the conditions of the experiment,the available phosphorus content of black soil in vegetable fields,the biomass and accumulation of calcium and phosphorus in cabbage increased significantly in F2E2 treatment(appied 675 kg•hm-2 of lime,300 kg•hm-2 of humic acid and 150 kg•hm-2 of EDTA). 展开更多

Background: There is scarcity of data on the actual frequency of routine blood work-up for patients on maintenance haemodialysis and how this affects the achievement of therapeutic goals in sub-Saharan Africa. This study aimed to review these in a referral hospital in Cameroon. Methods: A prospective hospital-based cohort study carried out from November 2019 to April 2020 including patients on maintenance haemodialysis in Douala general hospital. Patients were followed during 6 months to determine the frequency of monitoring of haemoglobin, serum calcium and phosphorus. Targeted values for haemoglobin were ≥10 g/dL, 80 - 100 mg/L for serum calcium and 25 - 45 mg/L for serum phosphorus. Pearson correlation test was used to define the correlation between monitoring frequencies and blood values at the end of the study. Results: For all 154 patients included in the study, the median frequency of monitoring for haemoglobin was once every 8 week (IQR: 6 - 12) and once every 12 weeks (IQR: 8 - 24) for serum calcium and phosphorus. The proportion of patients who achieved haemoglobin, serum calcium and phosphorus targets at the end of the study were 27.4%, 63% and 74% respectively. No correlation was found between the frequency of monitoring and the haemoglobin, serum phosphorus and calcium levels at the end of the study. Conclusion: The frequency of monitoring of serum haemoglobin, calcium and phosphorus by patients in this study was low with a high prevalence of patients not achieving target value. 展开更多

Therefore, the coexistence rate of both these conditions rises in the elderly population. Abnormalities in mineral bone metabolism are major complications in chronic kidney disease (CKD). However, in elderly osteoporotic patients without a history of CKD, there are few reports on the relationship between calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P), and parathyroid hormone (PTH), and renal function. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between Ca, P, and PTH, and renal function in elderly osteoporosis patients with no history of CKD. We evaluated 169 patients who had been treated for osteoporosis. The eGFR decreased with age resulting in a negative correlation (r = -0.514, p p p p p < 0.01, respectively). Even if Ca and P are in the normal range, in case of a poor effect of an osteoporotic therapeutic drug, it is necessary to consider the measurement of intact PTH in elderly osteoporosis patients with no history of CKD. 展开更多

Objective:To investigate calcitriol, cinacalcet plus comprehensive intervention on maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients with secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P) metabolism and parathyroid hormone (PTH) effect.Methods: A total of 80 cases of patients with SHPT from January 2014 to January 2016 in our hospital were randomly divided into observation group and control group, control group to eat the whole piece of cinacalcet hydrochloride oral tablets, the initial dose of 25 mg/d, every 2 to 4 weeks, according to Ca×P, parathyroid hormone (iPTH) test results adjust the dose, the maximum dose of not more than 75 mg/d, the observation group in the control group on the basis of oral administration of Calcitriol Soft Capsules 0.25 g/d, 3 times/week, 2 groups were given comprehensive intervention measures, to evaluate the curative effect after 3 months of treatment. The 2 groups before and after treatment collected fasting peripheral venous blood, the determination of Ca, P and alkaline phosphatase by colorimetric method (ALP), Ca, P product calculation (Ca×P), to detect the level of iPTH before and after treatment by ELISA method;TY-6858-HI type ultrasound instrument, measuring length, width and thickness of the parathyroid glands, and calculate the parathyroid gland volume.Results:in the observation group after treatment, Ca, Ca×P increased degree, P, ALP, iPTH lower than the control group, the size of the parathyroid gland was better than the control group.Conclusion:calcitriol, cinacalcet combined intervention therapy has good clinical effect in patients with MHD SHPT, Ca, P can effectively improve the metabolism, reduce the level of iPTH, reduce the parathyroid gland volume is worthy of promotion. 展开更多

Methods: The ash weight, the concentrations of calcium, phosphorus and the calcium/phosphorus ratio were measured at different intervals (2, 4, 6, 8, 12 weeks) since lengthening and the lengthened part was compared with a control area at each interval. Results: The ash weight, the concentrations of calcium and phosphorus in the lengthened area differed at all development time. The calcium/phosphorus (Ca/P) ratio in the lengthened region remained significantly lower than that in the control region up to 12 weeks after the lengthening. Conclusions: These results suggest that also other inorganic ions play an important role in the mineralization process and that they become relatively more important since 8 weeks after the lengthening. 展开更多

Despite of the appropriate input of calcium and phosphorus, thehomeostasis of phosphocalcic metabolism is sometimes faulty, in particular among animals with high production potential. The aim ofthis study is to define usual values of calcium and phosphorus during pregnancy and postpartum period. This paraclinic tool will serveto a good interpretation when used by veterinarians. A second goal is to study the influence of physiological stage on phosphocalcicmetabolism in milch cow. The hereby study was conducted on 17 Prim' Holsteins cow breed from 3 to 5 years old, clinically healthy,multiparous and derived from two dairy farms located in the wilaya of Constantine. Blood samples were taken from the jugular veinusing dry tubes at different physiological stages (early gestation, mid gestation, late gestation, pre-partum, one day after parturition, andone month postpartum). All of the samples correctly identified were transported to a specialized laboratory where specific kits wereused. Blood calcium and phosphorus levels have significantly varied depending on physiological stage (p 〈 0.01). They showed a highpre-partum variation, with a rate of 94.71 mg/mL and 61.99 mg/mL, respectively. These results can be used as means of follow-upreproduction for a better management of dairy fanning. 展开更多
