In conventional cross-coupled controller design,the method usually ignored the inherent characteristic of time-vary- ing parameters and model uncertainties in system.In this paper,a cross-coupled controller(CCC)using an H~∞control scheme has been proposed to reduce the contouring error for an X-Y table.Furthermore,the proposed CCC design,which is a typical Multi- Input Multi-Output(MIMO)system with linear time varying(LTV)characteristics,has been verified as being internally stable. The simulations are carried on Matlab simulink to verify the proposed method,and the results showed that the proposed method can reduce the contouring error significantly compared with the conventional one. 展开更多

By analyzing the principle of process variations, a lightweight Physical Unclonable Function(PUF) circuit based on selectable cross-coupled inverters is proposed in this paper. Firstly, selectable cross-coupled inverters are chosen for two delay paths. Simultaneously, the circuit takes challenge signal to control each delay path. The PUF cell circuit is implemented in Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation(SMIC) 65 nm CMOS technology and the layout area is 2.94 mm × 1.68 mm. Then the 64-bit PUF circuit is achieved with the cascade connection of cell circuits. The simulation results show that the randomness is 49.4% and the reliability is 96.5%. Compared to the other works, this PUF circuit improves the encrypt performance and greatly reduces the area. 展开更多

This paper aims to introduce a quadrature VCO (voltage control oscillator) which applies superharmonic coupling. The presented quadrature VCO is suitable to be used, both with 2 × subharmonic mixers, as well as 4×subharmonic mixers. It would be impossible to avoid the presence of harmonics in CMOS VCO circuits. These harmonics are in general, undesirable signals which tend to accompany the desired fundamental signal. There are common-mode nodes (similar to those in the two source nodes in a cross-coupled VCO) in deferential VCO at which higher-order harmonics are present while the fundamental is absent in essence. We can make use of these second-order harmonics which are present at the common-mode nodes of two VCO in order to implement a quadrature connection between the fundamental outputs. The technique through which this is done is called superharmonic coupling. This CMOS quadrature VCO which applies active superharmonic coupling puts an excellent performance in show, with an output power –0.942 dBm for fundamental and –9.751 dBm for subharmonic, phase noise –107.2 dBc/Hz for fundamental and –114.8 dBc/Hz at a 1MHz offset. A cross-coupled-structure-based temperature sensor with reduced process variation sensitivity

This sensor consists of two different ... An innovative, thermally-insensitive phenomenon of cascaded cross-coupled structures is found. And a novel CMOS temperature sensor based on a cross-coupled structure is proposed. This sensor consists of two different ring oscillators. The first ring oscillator generates pulses that have a period, changing linearly with temperature. Instead of using the system clock like in traditional sensors, the second oscillator utilizes a cascaded cross-coupled structure to generate temperature independent pulses to capture the result from the first oscillator. Due to the compensation between the two ring oscillators, errors caused by supply voltage variations and systematic process variations are reduced. The layout design of the sensor is based on the TSMC13G process standard cell library. Only three inverters are modified for proper channel width tuning without any other custom design. This allows for an easy integration of the sensor into cell-based chips. Post-layout simulations results show that an error lower than ±1.1 °C can be achieved in the full temperature range from 40 to 120 °C. As shown by SPICE simulations, the thermal insensitivity of the cross-coupled inverters can be realized for various TSMC technologies: 0.25 μm, 0.18 μm, 0.13 μm, and 65 nm. 展开更多

This paper proposes an efficient PSP-based model for cross-coupled metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors(MOSFETs) with optimized layout in the voltage controlled oscillator(VCO).The model employs a PSP charge model to characterize the bias-dependent extrinsic capacitance instead of numerical functions with strong non-linearity.The simulation convergence is greatly improved by this method.An original scheme is developed to extract the parameters of the PSP charge model based on S-parameters measurement.The interconnection parasitics of the cross-coupled MOSFETs are modeled based on vector fitting.The model is verified with an LC VCO design,and exhibits excellent convergence during simulation.The results show improvements as high as 60.5% and 61.8% in simulation efficiency and accuracy,respectively,indicating that the proposed model better characterizes optimized cross-coupled MOSFETs in advanced radio frequency(RF) circuit design. 展开更多

Highly dispersed palladium nanoparticles were synthesized in the presence of immobilized ionic liquid on mesoporous silica SBA-15.PdNPs(2.4 nm)_me-Im@SBA-15 catalyst was prepared by the reduction using NaBH_4 as the reducing agent with controlled feed rate and has been investigated as ligand-free catalyst for Suzuki–Miyaura cross-coupling reaction at room temperature in aqueous solution under air.PdNPs catalyst was also prepared in situ from PdCl4_me-Im@SBA-15 during the reaction and demonstrated high activity and stability towards nitrobenzene hydrogenation at high temperature. Both catalysts were reusable at least for four recycle processes without significant loss in activity with simple procedure. The catalysts were characterized by TEM, EXAFS, FTIR and XPS. 展开更多

The present paper deals with the polymerization of ( R ) 3,3′ diiodo 2,2′ binaphtho 20 crown 6 with \{ p divinylbenzene\} under Heck coupling reaction condition. Both the monomers and the polymer were analyzed by NMR, FTIR, UV, CD, fluorescent spectroscopy, polarimetry, GPC and elemental analysis. The polymer can emit a strong blue fluorescence and is expected to have the potential application in the polarized blue light emitting sensors. The chiral conjugated polymer exhibits a strong Cotton effect in its Circular Dichroism(CD ) spectrum, indicating the high rigidity of the polymer backbone. 展开更多

The use of thallium(I) hydroxide (TlOH) as a base is known to extremely accelerate the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction using organoboronic acid or organoboronic acid ester as a substrate. Here, we investigated the effects of TlOH by comparing with other conventional bases such as KOH, K2CO3, and CsF for Pd0-mediated rapid cross-coupling reactions between CH3I and organoborane reagents, such as phenyl-, (Z)-4-benzyloxy-2-butenyl-, and benzylboronic acid pinacol esters under the conditions CH3I/borane/Pd0/base (1:40:1:3) in THF/H2O or DMF/H2O for 5 min with an aim to fabricate a PET tracer efficiently. Consequently, however, the use of TlOH was much less efficient than the other bases for the acceleration of cross-coupling reactions. Thus, it was reconfirmed that the milder and non-toxic conditions using K2CO3 or CsF so far developed by our group were most appropriate for the rapid C-methylations. 展开更多

The antioxidant potential of phenolic compounds shows potent activities for cancer prevention and its treatment. From a green chemistry point of view, cascade (tandem) reactions are ideal techniques in organic synthesis for building complex structures. Cascade techniques are sometimes observed in coupling reactions under mild conditions with a tolerance of multifunctional groups. It will be interesting to find a cascade type reaction to synthesize polyphenolic ethers. This research project achieves a new cross-coupling method for establishing polyphenolic ethers from mixed phenols and halides in the presence of palladium catalyst in moderate to good yields. 展开更多

By up-scaling, the electroosmotic flow equations in horizontal thin slits separated by thin solid layers are approximated by a homogenized system of macroscale equations in the form of the Poisson equation for induced vertical electrical field and Onsager's reciprocity relations between global fluxes (hydrodynamic and electric) and forces (horizontal pressure gradient and external electrical field). In addition, the two-scale approach provides macroscopic mobility coefficients in the Onsager relations. On this way, the cross-coupling kinetic coefficient is obtained in a form which does involves the &#950 -potential among the data provided the surface current is negligible. 展开更多

Piezo-electric nano-positioning stages are being widely used in applications in which precision and accuracy in the order of nano, and high scanning speeds are paramount. This paper presents a Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of the parallel piezo-flexural nano-positioning (PPNP) stages to investigate motion interference between their different axes. Cross-coupling is one of the significant contributors to undesirable runouts in the precision positioning of PPNP actuators. Using ABAQUS/CAE 2018 software, a 3D model of a PPNP stage was developed. The model consists of a central elastic body connected to a fixed frame through four flexural hinges. A cylindrical stack of multiple piezoelectric disks is placed between the moving central body and the fixed frame. Extensive simulations were carried out for three different friction coefficients in the piezoelectric disks’ contact surfaces, different frame materials, and different geometrical configurations of the stage and the hinges. As a result, it was observed that the primary root cause of the mechanical cross-coupling effect could be realized in the combination of the slip and rotation of the piezoelectric disks due to their frictional behavior with the stage moving in the tangential direction, concurrent with changes in the geometry of the stage. 展开更多

When fault occurs on cross-coupling autotransformer(AT)power supply traction network,the up-line and down-line feeder circuit breakers in the traction substation trip at the same time without selectivity,which leads to an extended power failure.Based on equivalent circuit and Kirchhoff’s current law,the feeder current characteristic in the substation,AT station and sectioning post when T-R fault,F-R fault,and T-F fault occur are analyzed and their expressions are obtained.When the traction power supply system is equipped with wide-area protection measurement and control system,the feeder protection device in each station collects the feeder currents in other two stations through the wide-area protection channel and a wide-area current differential protection scheme based on the feeder current characteristic is proposed.When a short-circuit fault occurs in the power supply arm,all the feeder protection devices in each station receive the feeder currents with time stamp in other two stations.After data synchronous processing and logic judgment,the fault line of the power supply arm can be identified and isolated quickly.The simulation result based on MATLAB/Simulink shows that the power supply arm protection scheme based on wide-area current differential has good fault discrimination ability under different fault positions,transition resistances,and fault types.The verification of measured data shows that the novel protection scheme will not be affected by the special working conditions of the electrical multiple unit(EMU),and reliability,selectivity,and rapidity of relay protection are all improved. 展开更多

Selective control of secondary alcohols upgrading using Ir-catalyzed cross-coupling strategy

The selective coupling of alcohols is a fascinating yet challenging approach for upgrading alcohols. Herein, we accomplished the controlled production of β-disubstituted ketones or upgraded secondary alcohols via the Ir-catalyzed cross-coupling of secondary alcohols in excellent yields with broad substrate scopes. This selective control was achieved by using an in-situ generated monoNHC-Ir or a tris-NHC-Ir complex as the catalysts, respectively. Mechanistic studies revealed that the delicate balance between dehydrogenation and hydrogenation abilities of these bifunctional catalysts is crucial for achieving different selectivity. The tris-NHC-Ir complex effectively facilitated dehydrogenation of alcohols and hydrogenation of intermediates, leading to the desired upgraded secondary alcohols. Conversely, the high dehydrogenation ability of the mono-NHC-Ir complex promoted the conversion of formed secondary alcohols back to ketones. 展开更多

The reductive cross-coupling between C(aryl)—O and Si—Cl bonds is of much importance as a valuable strategy for the construction of C(aryl)—Si bonds but has remained a great challenge.Herein,we report a reductive cross-coupling of diaryl ethers and chlorosilanes via strong electrophilic C(aryl)—O and Si—Cl bonds cleavage by iron catalysis,which constitutes an efficient protocol for the synthesis of a range of functionalized arylsilanes.The combination of low cost FeCl2 as the precatalyst and iPrMgCl as the reductant shows high activity in the successive cleavage of unactivated C(aryl)—O bonds of diaryl ethers and strong electrophilic Si—Cl bonds of chlorosilanes,allowing their cross-coupling in a reductive fashion.The low-valent iron species generated in situ by reduction of FeCl2 with iPrMgCl was proposed,which prefers to initially cleavage the C(aryl)—O bond of diaryl ethers with the chelation help of an o-amide auxiliary. 展开更多
