These accidents can cause instability and damageto the tunnel. As a result, it is essential to conduct research on tunnel construction and grouting reinforcementtechnology in fault fracture zones to address these issues and ensure the safety of tunnel excavation projects. Thisstudy utilized the Xianglushan cross-fault tunnel to conduct a comprehensive analysis on the construction, support, and reinforcement of a tunnel crossing a fault fracture zone using the three-dimensional finite element numericalmethod. The study yielded the following research conclusions: The excavation conditions of the cross-fault tunnelarray were analyzed to determine the optimal construction method for excavation while controlling deformationand stress in the surrounding rock. The middle partition method (CD method) was found to be the most suitable.Additionally, the effects of advanced reinforcement grouting on the cross-fault fracture zone tunnel were studied, and the optimal combination of grouting reinforcement range (140°) and grouting thickness (1m) was determined. The stress and deformation data obtained fromon-site monitoring of the surrounding rock was slightly lower thanthe numerical simulation results. However, the change trend of both sets of data was found to be consistent. Theseresearch findings provide technical analysis and data support for the construction and design of cross-fault tunnels.展开更多

The rising behaviors of single bubbles in the quiescent liquids have been investigated but the internal flow patterns and deformation rules of bubbles, which influence the mass transfer efficiency to a large extent, have received much less attention. In this paper, the volume of fluid method was used to calculate the bubble shapes, pressure, velocity distributions, and the flow patterns inside the bubbles. The rising behavior of the bubbles with four different initial diameters,i.e., 3 mm, 5 mm, 7 mm and 9 mm was investigated in four various liquids including water, 61.23% glycerol,86.73% glycerol and 100% glycerol. The results show that the liquid properties and bubble initial diameters have great impacts on bubble shapes. Moreover, flow patterns inside the bubbles with different initial diameters were analyzed and classified into three types under the condition of different bubble shapes. Three correlations for predicting the maximum internal circulation inside the bubbles in 86.73% glycerol were presented and the R-square values were all bigger than 0.98. Through analyzing the pressure and velocity distributions around the bubbles, four rules of bubble deformation were also obtained to explain and predict the shapes.展开更多

The results show that the flow stress decreases with the increment of deformation temperature and increases with the growth of strain rate. The peak stress moves toward the direction of strain reducing and the strain rate sensitivity increases with the rising deformation temperature. There is obvious deformation heating created during hot deformation under relatively higher strain rate and lower deformation temperature. The improved back propagation(BP) neural network with 3-20-16-1 architecture has been employed to establish the prediction model of flow stress using deformation degree, deformation temperature and strain rate as input variables. The predicted values obtained by BP network agree well with the measured values, the relative error is within 6.5% for the sample data and not bigger than 9% for the non-sample data, which indicates that the ANNs adopted can predict the flow stress of BT20 alloy effectively and can be used as constitutive relationship system applied to FEM simulation of plastic deformation.展开更多

The aim of this study is to achieve a better understanding of mineralization in the Xiangshan deposit through numerical simulation. In order to find the most favorable locations of mineralization and to help further mineral exploration, a coupling deforma- tion and fluid flow model has been established to describe the mineralization process. In this model, the simulation re- constructs the strata deformations under fields of compressive stress and thrust structure on the hanging wall of the Zou-Shi fault. Compared with practical information, the simulation results are consistent with the No. 51 exploration section of the western Xiangshan. In addition, on the basis of geological information provided by previous investigators, the model simulates the flow process of fluids under compressive stress fields. The result suggests that many tensional areas are formed, which can help the fluid flowing upward from deeper parts. The fluid is easy to concentrate on the breccia fractured zone between two volcanic layers, especially on the intersection parts with faults, resulting in the for- mation of favourable locations of mineralization. In addition, the model is significant in guiding the exploration of ura- nium deposits in the western Xiangshan and provides clues for further exploration of deposits.展开更多

From experimental observations, the breakup occurred by three mechanisms, namely, necking, end pinching, and capillary instability. Quantitative results for the deformation and breakup of drop are presented. The maximum diameter and Sauter mean diameter of daughter drops and capillary thread radius are linearly related to the inverse shear rate and independent of the initial drop size, the dimensionless wavelength which is the wave-length divided by the thread width at breakup is independent of the shear rate and initial drop size, and the deforma-tion of threads follows a pseudo-affine deformation for Cai/Cac larger than 2.展开更多

The characteristic quantities such as the second invariant of the deviator stress J2 and Lode's coefficient μ were employed for the division of deformation area. The results show that when the metal is extruded with the guiding angle,no metal flow interface forms at the container's bottom, the dead zone completely disappears, the deformation types of the metal in the plastic deformation area change from three types to one type of tension, and the homogeneity of the deformation as well as metal flow are greatly improved. The non-homogeneous metal flow at the final stage of extrusion is improved, reducing the shrinkage hole at the axis end. The radial stress of the furthest point from the axis is transformed from tensile stress to compressive stress and the axial stress, and decreased from 70.8 to 34.8 MPa. Therefore, the surface cracks caused by additional stress are greatly reduced.展开更多

Compression tests were preformed in the temperature range of 653-773 K and in the strain rate range of 0.001-10 s-1 up to a true plastic strain of 0.7. The results indicate that the flow stress of the alloy increases with increasing strain rate at a given temperature, and decreases with increasing temperature at a given imposed strain rate. The relationship between the flow stress and the strain rate and the temperature was derived by analyzing the experimental data. The flow stress is in a hyperbolic sine relationship with the strain rate, and in an Arrhenius relationship with the temperature, which imply that the process of plastic deformation at an elevated temperature for this material is thermally activated. The flow stress of the alloy during the elevated temperature deformation can be represented by a Zener-Hollomon parameter with the inclusion of the Arrhenius term. The values of n,α and A in the analytical expressions of flow stress σ are fitted to be 5.62,0.019 MPa-1 and 1.51×1016 s-1,respectively. The hot deformation activation energy is 240.85 kJ/mol.展开更多

From experimental observations, the breakup occurred by three mechanisms, namely, necking, end pinching, and capillary instability. Quantitative results for the deformation and breakup of drop are presented. The maximum diameter and Sauter mean diameter of daughter drops and capillary thread radius are linearly related to the inverse shear rate and independent of the initial drop size, the dimensionless wavelength which is the wave-length divided by the thread width at breakup is independent of the shear rate and initial drop size, and the deforma-tion of threads follows a pseudo-affine deformation for Cai/Cac larger than 2.

文摘To reduce defects caused by non-homogeneous metal flow in conventional extrusion,a die with guiding angle was designed to improve the metal flow behavior. Therefore, the surface cracks caused by additional stress are greatly reduced.

文摘This paper presents numerical investigation on the ore-forming fluid migration driven by tectonic deformation and thermally-induced buoyancy force in the Chanziping ore district in South China.A series of numerical scenarios are considered to examine the effect of meteoric water precipitation, the dip angle of the faults, unconformity surface, and thermal input on the ore genesis. Our computations reveal that the downward basinal fluid flow driven by extensional stress mixes with the upward basal fluid driven by the thermal input from depth at the junction of two faults at a temperature of about 200℃,triggering the precipitation of the Chanziping uranium deposit.
文摘The experiments of the ferrite warm deformation of ultra-low carbon (ULC) Ti-IF steel were carded out on a hot simulator and the influences of deformation temperature, strain, and strain rate on the flow stress were analyzed. New flow stress models suitable to ferrite warm forming of Ti-IF steel were given on the basis of analyzing the influence of deformation technology parameters on the flow stress.

文摘The flow stress behavior of Al-3.5Cu-1.5Li-0.25(Sc+Zr) alloy during hot compression deformation was studied by isothermal compression test using Gleeble-1500 thermal-mechanical simulator. The hot deformation activation energy is 240.85 kJ/mol.
