How to use MOOCs to help universities rather than bother them to improve their education level and quality becomes an important issue. In China, many universities have explored the new modes and approaches for MOOC/SPOC-based teaching and learning. Especially, the China MOOC Association on Computing Education(CMOOC association), established in 2014, has done a set of successful practice and achieved fruitful experiences on MOOC courses development and computer education reform. Based on the practical experiences, a MOOC/SPOC based "1+M+N" multi-university collaborative teaching and learning mode is presented, which is adapted to the real situation of Chinese university education. In the paper, the practices and experiences of CMOOC association are introduced, the MOOC/SPOC based "1+M+N" multi-university collaborative teaching and learning mode and its approaches are described. Finally, the suggestions for MOOCs development and applications are also presented.展开更多

This not only promotes the change of teaching concept and the reform of teaching methodology, but also provides a broad new opportunity for the teaching resource integration between universities in China and the prestigious universities in the world. However, with MOOC’s booming and spreading, educators and teachers have also found its limitations during the course of teaching and learning. This paper focuses on the design and the application of the integration of blended learning model and MOOC in Business English Course by selective use of the Open Course Ware of MIT Management School. With the advanced e-portfolio assessment as the standard for students’ achievement, it aims to reveal that the proposed model can trigger students’ study interest and cultivate their autonomous study, corporate learning as well as creative thinking ability.展开更多

The article aims to define quality in open, flexible, and online learning, particularly in open education, open educationalresources (OER), and massive open online courses (MOOC). Hence, quality domains, characteristics, and criteria are outlined and discussed,as well as how they contribute to quality and personal learning so thatlearners can orchestrate and take responsibility for their own learningpathways. An additional goal is to identify the major stakeholders directlyinvolved in open online education and to describe their visions, communalities, and conflicts regarding quality in open, flexible, and online learning. The article also focuses on quality in periods of crisis, such as duringthe pandemic in 2020. Finally, the article discusses the rationale and needfor a model of quality in open, flexible, and online learning based on threemajor criteria for quality: excellence, impact, and implementation fromthe learner’s perspective.展开更多

This paper will consider blended learning, for instance. Blended learning is adorable for many educators in recent years, which demonstrates the principle of student-centered as well as alternates the role of the teachers from the traditional way. MOOC (Massive Online Open Course) is initiated in most schools as well, for the purpose of mutual share of the best education in the world. Within the framework of blended learning, the MOOC can also be the essential section in a whole circle. With some successful examples for the application of blended learning in elementary and middle schools, the author is suddenly inspired to make assumptions for better MET (maritime education and training): the blended learning is applicable in MET to stimulate the students' initiatives.展开更多

Although there a number of positive and negative factors found to be effective in PLL procedure, utilising online tools in PLL were recognized as a positive recommended means. This motivates many researchers to provide solutions and proposals which result in a number of choices and options. However, categorising those efforts and showing what has been done, would provide a better and clear image for future studies. Therefore, this paper aims to conduct a systematic literature review to show what studies have been done and then categorise them based on the type of online tools and the aims of the research. The study follows Kitchenham and Charters guidelines for writing SLR (Systematic Literature Review). The search result reached 1390 publications between 2013-09/2018. After the filtration which has been done through selected criteria, 160 publications were found to be adequate to answer the review questions. The main results of this systematic review are categorizing the aims of the studies in online PLL tools, classifying the tools and finding the current trends of the online PLL tools.</span>展开更多
