Folic acid was selected as a cancer targeting ligand because folic acid receptors are highly expressed in a variety of tumor types. β-cyclodextrin and folic acid were connected through a linker [1,10-phenanthroline or 5-(hydroxymethyl) furfural]. β-cyclodextrin and folic acid were attached to the linker by formation of Schiffbase and ester, respectively. Our targeted synthetic products were confirmed by NMR, Mass and IR spectroscopy. We anticipate that our synthetic products can confer cancer cell-specific drug delivery as well as desired properties such as nanoparticle formation.展开更多

The maxima wavelength of the absorption and emission of the dyes were 550-800 nm in water. Compared with those in aqueous solutions, the fluorescence intensity of the dyes in the α/β-cyclodextrin, Al^3+, Zn^2+, Sn^2+ or the α/β-cyclodextrin in the aqueous solutions of the cations became stronger. The crystal Shapes of the dyes and their cyclodextrin inclusions were mostly acicular or polygon. The NHS-carboxyl squarylium indocyanine was prepared and used to conjugate with taurine or benzylamine, the results indicated that the dyes could couple covalently to biomass containing free NH2 group. Structure and some thermal parameters of the molecule of the trimethine cyanine were obtained by DFT method of Gaussian O3.展开更多

The sensor surface morphology was characterized by scanning electron microscopy. The electrochemical performance of the imprinted sensor was investigated by cyclic voltammetry, differential pulse voltammetry and chronoamperometry. The sensor displayed excellent selectivity towards the target Ga(III) ion. Meanwhile, the introduced MWCNTs displayed noticeable catalytic activity, and fl:CD demonstrated significant enrichment capacity. A linear calibration curve was obtained covering the concentration range from 5.0 × 10 8 to 1.0 × 10-4 moloL-1, with a detection limit of 7.6× 10 9 mol·L-1. The proposed sensor was successfully applied to detect Ga(III) in real urine samples.展开更多

It has been proved that even without long alkyl chain the amphiphilic dendron could still form stable Langmuir monolayer at the air/water interface. Through the host-guest interaction,γ-cyclodextrin can be used to encapsulate two headgroups of amphiphilic dendron in the antiparallel direction. However, the formed host-guest complex was sensitive to the surface pressure. Slight compression of surface pressure led amphiphilic dendron to reassemble into nanofibers through the strong π-π stacking between headgroups. On the other hand, under in situ irradiation, the amphiphilic dendron was stabilized in the cavity of γ- cyclodextrin through headgroup dimerization and the host-guest complex further irregularly aggregated to nanoparticles. Meanwhile, γ-cyclodextrin, as a silencer, blocked the supramolecular chirality transfer. Our conclusion was demonstrated through UV/vis, FT-IR, CD spectrum and AFM images, respectively.展开更多

SMIPs were prepared using a surface grafting copolymerization method on a functionalized silica gel modified with β-cyclodextrin and vinyl groups. The morphology and composition of the SMIPs were investigated by scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis. In addition, the molecular binding capacity, recognition properties and selectivity of the SMIPs were evaluated. The imprinted polymers were found to have a highly specific recognition and binding capacity for aqueous media which is (-)-epigallocatechin gallate in the result of the hydrophobic properties of the β-cyclodextrin and the hydrogen-bonding interactions of methacrylic acid. The SMIPs were successfully employed as solid-phase extraction adsor- bents prior to the HPLC determination of (-)-epigallocatechin gallate in toothpaste. The HPLC analysis had a linear dynamic range of 0.5-50.0 μg·mL^-1 with a correlation coefficient of 0.9998 and the recoveries ranged from 89.4% to 97.0% with relative standard deviations less than 4.8%. The limit of detection and limit of quantification were 0.17 and 0.33 μg·mL^-1, respectively. The method provides a promising approach for the preparation of selective materials for the purification and determination of complex samples.展开更多
