An Exploratory Data Analysis of Mazu Culture Research Based on Diaolong-Full-Text Database of Ancient Chinese and Japanese Books

Mazu is the most famous goddess of canal transport in China,and one of the three folk beliefs in China.Japan is our neighbor across the sea.As early as 1000 years ago,Japan was influenced by the Mazu ceremonial culture.Through big data analysis,this study conducted database counting,screening,and analysis on the Mazu culture in Diaolong,the full-text database of Chinese and Japanese ancient books.Besides,it explored the hot topics of concern and emotional attitudes,and then analyzed the important role of Mazu culture in the cultural exchange and mutual learning between China and Japan in the new era,with a view to completing the contemporary task of“people-to-people bond”and achieving common development.

Translation Ecology Analysis of The Book of Songs & Book of Poetry

Shi Jing is the necessary reference book about Chinese literature.Waley's the Book of Songs and Xu Yuanchong's Book of Poetry are two excellent reference books.So,this paper hopes to find a new way to analyze the two versions.This paper will use the theory to analyze and compare the two translation works on the perspective of translation ecology.

Probe into the Logic and Rhetoric of Propriety in The Book of Songs :Taking “Guan Ju” as the Core Example

The Book of Songs is a book of propriety passing on rites and teaching people by the form of poetry with unique logic and rhetoric.“Guan Ju”is the most typical poem deducing the propriety of humans from the laws of nature,which is acceptable,convinced and obeyed by the people naturally,friendly and eloquently.Therefore,the logic and rhetoric in The Book of Songs can be reconciled and self-consistent in the poetic thinking of the unity of heaven and humans.

Discussion on Chinese Ancient Literature Translation Based on the English Translation of the Book of Songs

The Book of Songs is an important part of Chinese traditional culture and enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad.This article is based on Turi’s theory of translation norms,and takes the English translation of The Book of Songs·Jing Jing by Richard Jacob and Xu Yuanchong as the research object.Comparative studies are made on the historical nature of understanding,the normativeness of translation,and the application of the fusion of horizons in the two versions of the Book of Songs.Incorporating history into translation brings the translation closer to the roots of history.The comparative research method proposed in this article can be widely used in various ancient literature studies,and has important theoretical and application values.

A Study on the Metaphorical Translation of Pound’s Book of Songs from the Perspective of Cognitive Linguistics

The Book of Songs is the first collection of Poems in China,which is a very important milestone in the history of Chinese literature.There are abundant metaphorical expressions in The Book of Songs,providing valuable resources for linguistics,rhetoric and literature research.This study selects the most representative metaphors of women and marriage in The Book of Songs as the research object.Guided by Lakoff and Johnson’s conceptual metaphor theory,this study explores the metaphorical translation in Pound’s Book of Songs from the perspective of cognitive effect.It is found that Pound mainly adopts the translation strategies of vehicle equivalence,vehicle conversion and metaphor to simile in the process of translating female metaphors and marriage metaphors in The Book of Songs.

Untranslatability in Onomatopoeia Translation—A Case Study of the Book of Songs

Classical poetry is a kind of special classical literature with highly concise language,rich emotion,profound implication and certain rhythm.The development of poetry translation is related to the spread of Chinese classical culture.There are many opinions about translatability and Untranslatability of poetry translation.The translation of meaning is relatively easy,while the rhetoric technique closely related to the form of expression is more difficult,which is the key to express the poet's feelings.There⁃fore,this paper aims to explore the untranslatability of onomatopoeia in poetry by combining with the Book of Songs.

The Influence of Miao Nationality’s Culture in Yuan Xiang Region on the Later Poetry Creation of Qu Yuan

Miao culture is one of the minority cultures in China.It also has a certain impact on the development of Chinese literature and poetry.Chu ci is a new poetic style created by Qu Yuan,an ancient poet in China.It is the first collection of romantic poetry in the history of Chinese literature.Qu Yuan’s poetry creation is related to his life experience.Qu Yuan was exiled to Yuan Xiang region,and he had been in contact with the Miao ancestors in Yuan Xiang area during the exile.Therefore,the Miao land culture in Yuan Xiang area has a profound influence on Qu Yuan’s later poetry creation.This paper,taking Qu Yuan’s later poetry as an example,analyzes the influence of Miao culture on Chu ci in Yuan Xiang area,introduces Qu Yuan’s life and how to contact Miao culture,and probes into the influence of Miao nationality’s religious thought,customs,language and culture,oral folk song and pan song on the later poetry creation of Qu Yuan.

Mark Bender and Aku Wuwu translate Hnewo Teyy,a crucial epic for Nuosu people from Yi to English directly and entirely for the first time.Their translation and introduction of the epic are involved in The Nuosu Book of Origins,in which Bender concerns plants and animals.This paper mainly analyses Bender’s adaptation and selection concerning his investigation and translation of plants and animals under the guidance of Eco-translatology.Significantly,Eco-translatology and Bender’s translation and introduction provide enlightenment to the transmission of Chinese culture.

Tibetan Folk Songs and Dances in Diebu-The Musical Characteristics of Gerba(Gar Pa)

Folk songs and dances originated from people's sacrificial activities in the struggle against nature in the primitive society.Their origins are related to the ideology and living environment of the people at that period of time.These activities were expressed in the form of primitive songs and dances,and gradually evolved into folk songs and dances.The gar pa song and dance from Diebu,in Gannan region,is a unique song and dance of a Tibetan region on the eastern edge of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.Its content and form are unique.It still retains the original trinity feature which includes poem,music,and dance.The production of songs and dances contains rich cultural connotations and unique local characteristics.This article elaborates the characteristics of Diebu's gar pa song and dance in terms of its music and performance form.

Degree of prevalence of different song types of chaffinch (<i>Fringilla coelebs</i>L.) in populations of the European Russia

When studying song organizations of chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs L.), we find the unique typological parities (ratio) of songs in different local populations of a species-specific area. The degree of prevalence of different chaffinch song types can’t correspond to percentage proceeding from their general (common) number in a population. Thus different areas of Russia are forming original (different) song cultures of chaffinch, consisting of the certain set and a parity (ratio) of song types, frequently including the so-called dialect song forms, that have been observed. The complex interrelation of geographical variability and structural variability of chaffinch song in many respects gives a support in an evolutionary view from the given aspect.

The majority of the classical Muslim jurists, especially Hanafi school, emphasised that the reason for Muslims＇ fight against non-Muslims is Muslims＇ defense themselves against attacks, not non-Muslims＇ faith. Bediuzzaman Said Nursi （d. 1960） states that the only kind of jihad that is appropriate for the present age is spiritual or moraljihad. Furthermore, regarding Qur＇anic approach to relations between Muslims and the People of the Book, Muslim scholars, in general, advocate sincere relations and trust between Muslims and the People of the Book. In addition, Said Nursi is one of the great Muslim scholars in interfaith dialogue in the 20th century. Finally, there is the need for establishing culture of coexistence, which practised before within a religious tradition such as Islamic tradition for many centuries in the history. Through achieving a culture of coexistence and peace, most conflicts can be resolved.
