We also obtained the highest efficiency(3.21%) in an AZO/p-Cu_2O heterojunction solar cell prepared with optimized pre-sputtering conditions using our newly developed multi-chamber sputtering system. This value achieves the same or higher characteristics than AZO/Cu_2O solar cells with a similar structure prepared by the pulse laser deposition method.展开更多

Nearly atomic-flat YBCO films are obtained by pulsed laser deposition. Our result shows that the termination of SrTiO3 has only a negligible effect on the properties of YBCO. In contrast, we found that capping a non-superconducting oxide layer can generally enhance the superconductivity of YBCO. PrBa2 Cu3 O7,La2 CuO4, LaMnO3, SrTiO3, and LaAlO3 have been examined as capping layers, and the minimum thickness of superconducting YBCO with capping is ~ 2 unit cells–3 unit cells. This result might be useful in constructing good-performance YBCO-based field effect devices.展开更多

Effects of sliding speed and pressure on the frictional characteristics of the composites and copper against brass are investigated and compared. The changes in morphology of the sliding surface and subsurface are examined with scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectrum (EDS). The results show that the wear resistance of the Al2O3/Cu composites is superior to that of copper under the same conditions, Under a given electrical current, the wear rate of Al2O3/Cu composites decreases as the Al2O3-content increases, However, the wear rates of the Al2O3/Cu composites and copper increase as the sliding speed and pressure increase under dry sliding condition. The main wear mechanisms for Al2O3/Cu composites are of abrasion and adhesion; for copper, it is adhesion, although wear by oxidation and electrical erosion can also be observed as the speed and pressure rise.展开更多

The reinforcement particles were mainly γ Al 2O 3, some θ Al 2O 3 and a little α Al 2O 3. Thermodynamics analyses show that the chemical reactions are 3Cu 2O+2Al=6Cu+Al 2O 3 or 3CuO+2Al=3Cu+Al 2O 3. A related equilibrium diagram was drawn. The experiments and investigation show that the formation rate of Al 2O 3 was controlled by the diffusion of oxygen in matrix.展开更多

The structure and optical properties of Cu2O-loaded TiO2 nanotube arrays (Cu2O-TNTs) were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and UV-Vis absorption, and the photoelectrochemical performance was measured using an electrochemical work station with a three-electrode configuration. The results show that the Cu2O particles distribute uniformly on the highly ordered anatase TiO2 nanotube arrays. The morphologies of Cu2O crystals change from branched, truncated octahedrons to dispersive single octahedrons with increasing deposition current densities. The Cu2O- TNTs exhibited remarkable visible light responses with obvious visible light absorption and greatly enhanced visible light photoelectrochemical performance. The I-V characteristics under visible light irradiation show a distinct plateau in the region between approximately -0.3 and 0 V, resulting in higher open-circuit voltages and larger short-circuit currents with increased Cu2O deposition.展开更多

The compositions and structures were studied by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM), High-Resolution Transmission Electron Microscope (HRTEM), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), X-Ray Absorption Spectroscopy (XAS), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) and in-situ DRIFTS spectroscopy of CO adsorption. Different from the formation of Au-Cu alloys on Cu2O cubes by the galvanic replacement reaction (ChemNanoMat 2 (2016) 861-865), metallic Au particles and positively-charged Au clusters form on Cu2O octahedra and rhombic dodecahedra at very small Au loadings and only metallic Au particles form at large Au loadings. Metallic Au particles on Cu2O octahedra and rhombic dodecahedra are more active in catalyzing the liquid phase aerobic oxidation reaction of benzyl alcohol than positively-charged Au clusters. These results demonstrate an obvious morphology effect of Cu2O nanocrystals on the liquid-solid interfacial reactions and prove oxide morphology as an effective strategy to tune the surface reactivity and catalytic performance. The catalysts were prepared by co-precipitation. Characterizations of catalysts were carried out by XRD and BET techniques. The results showed a good dispersion of CuO for 5 wt% Cu loading catalysts and showed high specific surface area of catalyst. For selective CO oxidation, both 5CuO and 30CuO catalysts could remove completely CO in the presence of excess hydrogen at 423 K and 20CuO could eliminate CO completely at 443 K. Moreover, considering the selectivity to CO oxidation, the 5CuO catalyst has shown the highest selectivity of 85% while the 30CuO catalyst obtains the selectivity of 65% at the reaction temperature of 423 K.展开更多
