However, a clear classification, fair comparison, and performance rationalization of these methods are lacking, due to the scattered existing studies. To address these issues, we develop 20 capacity estimation methods from three perspectives:charging sequence construction, input forms, and ML models. 22,582 charging curves are generated from 44 cells with different battery chemistry and operating conditions to validate the performance. Through comprehensive and unbiased comparison, the long short-term memory(LSTM) based neural network exhibits the best accuracy and robustness. Across all 6503 tested samples, the mean absolute percentage error(MAPE) for capacity estimation using LSTM is 0.61%, with a maximum error of only 3.94%. Even with the addition of 3 m V voltage noise or the extension of sampling intervals to 60 s, the average MAPE remains below 2%. Furthermore, the charging sequences are provided with physical explanations related to battery degradation to enhance confidence in their application. Recommendations for using other competitive methods are also presented. This work provides valuable insights and guidance for estimating battery capacity based on partial charging curves.展开更多

This study aims to investigate solutions using the Ptype learning control scheme. Initially, we demonstrate the necessity of gradient information for achieving the best approximation.Subsequently, we propose an input-output-driven learning gain design to handle the imprecise gradients of a class of uncertain systems. However, it is discovered that the desired performance may not be attainable when faced with incomplete information. To address this issue, an extended iterative learning control scheme is introduced. In this scheme, the tracking errors are modified through output data sampling, which incorporates lowmemory footprints and offers flexibility in learning gain design. The input sequence is shown to converge towards the desired input, resulting in an output that is closest to the given reference in the least square sense. Numerical simulations are provided to validate the theoretical findings.展开更多

Despite its common occurrence, our understanding of the underlying mechanisms remains incomplete, and available treatment options are limited and risky. A more comprehensive understanding of the biology of CAVD is essential to identify new therapeutic strategies. Animal models have played a crucial role in advancing our knowledge of CAVD and exploring potential treatments. However, these models have inherent limitations as they cannot fully replicate the complex physiological mechanisms of human CAVD. In this review, we examine various CAVD models ranging from pigs to mice, highlighting the unique characteristics of each model to enhance our understanding of CAVD. While these models offer valuable insights, they also have limitations and shortcomings. We propose that the guide wire model shows promise for future CAVD research, and streamlining the methodology could enhance our understanding and expand the research scope in this field.展开更多

文摘Distraction spinal cord injury is caused by some degree of distraction or longitudinal tension on the spinal cord and commonly occurs in patients who undergo corrective operation for severe spinal deformity. With the increased degree and duration of distraction, spinal cord injuries become more serious in terms of their neurophysiology, histology, and behavior.Very few studies have been published on the specific characteristics of distraction spinal cord injury. In this study,we systematically review 22 related studies involving animal models of distraction spinal cord injury, focusing particularly on the neurophysiological, histological, and behavioral characteristics of this disease. In addition,we summarize the mechanisms underlying primary and secondary injuries caused by distraction spinal cord injury and clarify the effects of different degrees and durations of distraction on the primary injuries associated with spinal cord injury. We provide new concepts for the establishment of a model of distraction spinal cord injury and related basic research, and provide reference guidelines for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of this disease.
文摘Video conferencing systems face the dilemma between smooth streaming and decent visual quality because traditional video compression algorithms fail to produce bitstreams low enough for bandwidth-constrained networks. An ultra-lightweight face-animation-based method that enables better video conferencing experience is proposed in this paper. The proposed method compresses high-quality upperbody videos with ultra-low bitrates and runs efficiently on mobile devices without high-end graphics processing units(GPU).Moreover,a visual quality evaluation algorithm is used to avoid image degradation caused by extreme face poses and/or expressions, and a full resolution image composition algorithm to reduce unnaturalness, which guarantees the user experience.Experiments show that the proposed method is efficient and can generate high-quality videos at ultra-low bitrates.

文摘At a time when there is a growing public interest in animal welfare,it is critical to have objective means to assess the way that an animal experiences a situation.Objectivity is critical to ensure appropriate animal welfare outcomes.Existing behavioural, physiological, and neurobiological indicators that are used to assess animal welfare can verify the absence of extremely negative outcomes. But welfare is more than an absence of negative outcomes and an appropriate indicator should reflect the full spectrum of experience of an animal, from negative to positive. In this review,we draw from the knowledge of human biomedical science to propose a list of candidate biological markers(biomarkers)that should reflect the experiential state of non-human animals. The proposed biomarkers can be classified on their main function as endocrine, oxidative stress,non-coding molecular, and thermobiological markers. We also discuss practical challenges that must be addressed before any of these biomarkers can become useful to assess the experience of an animal in real-life.
文摘As one of the important means to spread Chinese traditional culture,Chinese-style animation has been on the rise in recent years. Many excellent works have emerged, among which the Chinese animated short film series Yao-Chinese Folktales is one of the good representatives. It aroused a strong reaction from the audience as soon as it was released on the Internet, and gave the audience a shock to their mind and vision, which has brought some thoughts to the development of Chinese-style animation.Following a linear logic chain of past-present-future Chinese-style animation’s development, this paper takes Yao-Chinese Folktales as an example and analyzes the developmental difficulties and prospects of Chinese-style animation. At the end of the paper, some suggestions about the development path of Chinese-style animation’s future are given from the aspects of creation and dissemination, for the aim of promoting the Chinese-style animation’s development and spreading the Chinese traditional culture.

文摘The rapid development of Internet literature not only made itself the source of information about animation and the gaming industry, but also boosted the creation of super writers who are now establishing themselves as IP(intellectual property)producers and providers.Rather than creating literary classics, these writers prefer producing commercial novels targeted at a certain group of readers.Meanwhile, the structure of their works tends to cater to the preferences of online games and animation, with the narrative and characters in the novel adjusting accordingly. These changes have enhanced the influence of Internet literature. But an excessive emphasis on IP gradually converts the novels into scripts for games with highly stereotyped content and structure.Fastpaced writing also renders their works with a lack of polish, including such serious problems as mismatched plots and repetitive narratives. Therefore,Internet literature is in urgent need of positive guidance,as its development will be stalled due to the excessive emphasis on IP.

文摘With its generality and practicality, the combination of partial charging curves and machine learning(ML) for battery capacity estimation has attracted widespread attention. This work provides valuable insights and guidance for estimating battery capacity based on partial charging curves.

文摘For unachievable tracking problems, where the system output cannot precisely track a given reference, achieving the best possible approximation for the reference trajectory becomes the objective. Numerical simulations are provided to validate the theoretical findings.

文摘Biodiversity has become a terminology familiar to virtually every citizen in modern societies. It is said that ecology studies the economy of nature, and economy studies the ecology of humans;then measuring biodiversity should be similar with measuring national wealth.Indeed, there have been many parallels between ecology and economics, actually beyond analogies. For example, arguably the second most widely used biodiversity metric,Simpson(1949)’s diversity index,is a function of familiar Gini-index in economics. One of the biggest challenges has been the high“diversity”of diversity indexes due to their excessive“speciation”-there are so many indexes, similar to each country’s sovereign currency-leaving confused diversity practitioners in dilemma. In 1973,Hill introduced the concept of“numbers equivalent”,which is based on Renyi entropy and originated in economics, but possibly due to his abstruse interpretation of the concept, his message was not widely received by ecologists until nearly four decades later. What Hill suggested was similar to link the US dollar to gold at the rate of$35 per ounce under the Bretton Woods system. The Hill numbers now are considered most appropriate biodiversity metrics system, unifying Shannon,Simpson and other diversity indexes. Here,we approach to another paradigmatic shift-measuring biodiversity on ecological networks-demonstrated with animal gastrointestinal microbiomes representing four major invertebrate classes and all six vertebrate classes. The network diversity can reveal the diversity of species interactions, which is a necessary step for understanding the spatial and temporal structures and dynamics of biodiversity across environmental gradients.
文摘Aortic valve calcification disease (CAVD) is the most prevalent degenerative valve disease in humans, leading to significant morbidity and mortality. We propose that the guide wire model shows promise for future CAVD research, and streamlining the methodology could enhance our understanding and expand the research scope in this field.
