Decentralized autonomous organizations(DAOs)have found use in the governance of open source software(OSS)projects.However,the governance of an OSS producing DAO should match the particularities of OSS production while...Decentralized autonomous organizations(DAOs)have found use in the governance of open source software(OSS)projects.However,the governance of an OSS producing DAO should match the particularities of OSS production while also overcoming the existing challenges of decentralized governance.The existing decentralized governance frameworks do not include all the governance activities of OSS projects.Therefore,this study presents a governance framework for DAOs that produce OSS.The framework is built upon a total of 34 articles on DAO and OSS governance.The framework was evaluated in three leading DAOs that produce OSS.The evaluation underscores the significance of the framework and proves the potential of the systematic categorization of governance mechanisms.Finally,we list emerging governance practices in various governance domains in this developing field.展开更多
The transparent and immutable nature of blockchain provides incentives for organizations wishing to create and implement an open,decentralized governance structure.As members exercise their voting rights,a fault-toler...The transparent and immutable nature of blockchain provides incentives for organizations wishing to create and implement an open,decentralized governance structure.As members exercise their voting rights,a fault-tolerant record accumulates on the blockchain that can be analyzed to diagnose and intercept potential threats to the governing body.To date,there has not been a systematic study of on-chain governance with respect to voting.In this paper,we provide an analysis of blockchain governance through a case study of the first cryptocurrency to adopt on-chain voting,Dash.Our analysis introduces the key characteristics of blockchain governance,steps through a data-driven exploration of Dash's on-chain voting system,and highlights exploitable attack vectors and vulnerabilities for the subversion of Dash's on-chain voting system via a novel network analysis methodology.We then conclude with guidelines for other organizations looking to implement similar blockchain governance solutions while maintaining integrity in their operations.展开更多
Since New Public Management theory,which seeks to promote public management reform with the techniques used to catalyze economic development,was introduced into the field of education,it has led to the implementation ...Since New Public Management theory,which seeks to promote public management reform with the techniques used to catalyze economic development,was introduced into the field of education,it has led to the implementation of education accountability measures and reforms focusing on performance-related pay for teachers.Performance-related pay was meant to improve teacher performance,and has played an important role in providing teachers with incentives and raising educational quality.In practice,however,problems have emerged that deserve serious attention.For example,the evaluation indicators based on this theory have distorted the direction of public management due to their over-emphasis on instrumental rationality and neglect of value rationality.Further,they highlight the interim goal of"instilling knowledge"at the cost of the fundamental aim of"cultivating talent,"thus producing results opposite to those intended.On the basis of the value rationality of education and China’s reality,this paper suggests that educational institutions should shift from"New Public Management"to a"holistic and decentralized governance"approach,fostering an environment dedicated to cultivating talent and introducing this feature intothe evaluation of teacher performance.The core socialist values need to be integrated into teacher policy and internalized by teachers as their emotional identity and customary behavior.展开更多
